Stone of Eternal Fire

"So Amaya, where can we find this stone of..." Captain faltered.

"Eternal Fire." She finished for him.

"Yes..that."

"I'm surprised you've never heard of it considering you're pirates. Any way it's in the village Fortworth. I don't know if that's what you still call it though." She sighed.

"I haven't heard of that before." Christopher scratched his head.

"I know where it is." Eduardo growled.

Amaya raised a delicate eyebrow. "Oh really? Then find it navigator." She said coldly smiling.

'The cold smile seemed to make her even more disturbing. It makes her look like a porcelain doll. Empty eyes, cold smile.' Russell thought.

The arrogant navigator and cold spirit had a stare off. Usually a girl who got that stare from Eduardo would flinch back. Yet she stared back just as frigidly.

"Tch. Whatever" Eduardo looked away angrily but a hint of admiration was visible on his face.

"Amaya do you need a room? Because you might have to share with someone."

"Why would I need a room?" She asked incredulously.

"Um to sleep and change?" Captain scratched his head helplessly.

She raised an eyebrow. "I can't sleep and I've worn these clothes since the day I died."

"Then do you need something to eat or drink?" Christopher asked.

"If I try to eat it will be tasteless and drinking would be the same."

"I need a drink." Captain muttered and left to his room.

"Um anything else we need to know about?" Christopher asked normally.

"No." She said curtly.

Eduardo came back in gruffly. "I got the location." He said pointedly at Amaya.

"Congrats, took you 20 minutes less than the last bunch of old sorry saps. Poor suckers were dead on the first step." She smiled coolly.

'It doesn't suit her face,' Thomas thought grimly,' a warm smile would suit her better.'

"Um who were those 'sorry saps'?" Christopher asked.

"It's been 13 years but I think the captain said his name was, Winston."

Russell gave out a harsh cough, "the Captain Winston?!"

"Wasn't he that guy who grew up on the seas and was really trained in swords?" Thomas asked.

"No shit! He was one of the greatest sword fighters alive!" Russell said in shock, "how could he have died?"

"Great as he may be, the man didn't know how to listen to, how did he say it? Feminine trash. I told him the passage was the wrong way but, you know how men are. They don't like listening to women and don't like asking for directions." She waved her hand off.

Russell's hand covered his face and slowly slid down.

"He died because he didn't know how to ask for directions?" Russell face went blank.

"You could say that." Amaya twirled a finger around her black lock.

"WHAT THE HELL!"

"We're here." Eduardo called from the wheel.

Russell was still seething about the fact his idol died because he was too proud. It didn't help the fact Amaya had told him he had been inflicted by Narcissuses Curse and drowned himself trying to kiss his reflection.

Christopher was still fascinated with the fact Amaya was dead but not quite dead.

Thomas was trying to piece everything together.

Morgan was drinking of course.

Amaya was sitting on the mast, bored.

And Nathan, well, Nathan didn't give a shit.

Everyone got off the ship and into the small town of Fortworth

The sun shone brightly, making the spirit seem invisible unless you were right next to her.

"So where should we look f- Amaya?" Morgan squinted and searched for the ghost girl.

"I'm right here." She said with a sigh. "I really didn't want to do this." And suddenly she was completely solid. Her completely still dress and hair moved with the wind.

She looked, alive. Her chest even moved as she breathed.

Christopher stared, wide-eyed, and Thomas stumbled back, gasping like a fish out of water.

"How did you-?" Christopher whipped out his notebook and quill and scribbled furiously.

"Calm down," she rolled her crystal eyes, "It's  a trick that makes me seem alive."

Captain cleared his throat shakily, no doubt it startled him to have a girl appear right in front of him. "So where should we look first?"

"The trading market." She walked forward to the crowded market place. Everything about her seemed alive.

'Yet,' Thomas looked at his hand where Amaya had accidentally brushed by, 'her skin is as cold as ice.'

They soon followed the girl through the bustling market.

Many people stopped to gawk at the sight. 6 good-looking men following an equally beautiful girl.

At last she stopped at a stall with a man who looked up and grinned. "Joseph." She nodded.

"Amaya! Mi querido amigo, cómo estás?" He stood up and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Tengo otro grupo de idiotas dispuestos a morir" She gestured to the group behind her.

"Ah. Quieres que la piedra de nuevo?"

"Sí , por favor Joseph"

"Como desees" he sighed before going in the back of the stall.

He came back with a cloth, tied together tightly.

"Gracias mi amigo." The man chuckled and ruffled her hair.

As they left the stall the man called out one more time, "Traer de vuelta cuando mueren!"

"What did he say?" Thomas asked.

"Oh just to bring it back when you die, that's all."

(1) Amaya! My dear friend, how are you?
