Chapter 3: Friends

Look at who's trying to be consistent.😏

Author's POV:

"Well let's go newbie. I'm sure you're already familiar with this room." Jungkook said as he pulled Jimin out of the office building by his arm. The slight touch alone made Jimin's heart flutter. "What grade are you in anyway?" He asked once they were alone on the sidewalk.

    "I-I'm a f-freshman."

    "Do you always stutter?"

    "N-no."

"That didn't sound very promising." Jimin giggled and Jungkook just furrowed his brow. That's when Jimin realized that he was serious.

"I'm s-sorry. I just get nervous when meeting new people." The smaller internally panicked.

"Well get over it. All that stuttering can become annoying over time." Jungkook spoke harshly which made Jimin feel even smaller.

"Yeah. You're right. I-I'll work on it." The younger put his head down shamefully trying not to cry. He hated how sensitive he was.

"How do you know the Kim's?"

"They are family friends, although, I just met them." Jimin was happy he finally got through a full sentence. He was becoming more comfortable the more he spoke. "My parents and I had to move in with them."

"Why?"

"Personal reasons." Jimin replied vaguely. He barely knew Jungkook. He didn't want to give him all of his information just yet.

"Are you sure we haven't met before? I'm sure I've seen you somewhere." Jungkook inquired again. The familiarity was getting to him. He felt like he already knew the boy.

"I think I would've definitely remembered that." Jimin smile to himself not realizing he had spoken aloud. It wasn't until he looked up and saw Jungkook's frown that he became aware of his mistake. "No Wait- Uh I mean I didn't mean it like that. What I meant was-" His eyes got big as he cursed himself.

"Yeah, I know what you meant." He cut him off. " A word of advice.. Don't catch feelings for me freshman. I'd only break your fragile little heart." Jungkook smirked.

"No- I mean- I wasn't- ." Jimin shook his head panicking.

"Calm down Jimin. I'm only kidding around." Jungkook chuckled. Jimin didn't say anything else. He didn't want to embarrass himself any further. "The campus isn't that big really. All of the freshman buildings are in the back right corner next to the cafeteria, the Performing Arts Center and offices are all in the middle of the campus, and the gym is towards the back next to the football field. Those are the only buildings you need to know for now. Any questions?"

"Yeah actually. Where's th-" Jimin was interrupted by are ringing noise. Jungkook pulled his phone out of his pocket and glanced at the caller ID.

"Shit." Jungkook rolled his eyes. "Hold that though kid." Jimin shrunk into himself when the older called him that. He didn't really know why he was having these strong feelings for this boy he just met, but they were really taking a toil on him. "Hey, wait a minute. slow down... no.. no I can't... I'm in the middle of something right now...no-..but-..fine just give me a few minutes. I'll be there." Jungkook turned back around to a concerned Jimin.

    "Is everything ok?"

"Everything's fine. I just need to end our tour a little early."

"Oh ok." Jungkook looked at Jimin's long face and for some reason felt bad just leaving him there to figure it out on his own. If it had been anyone else, he wouldn't have given it a second thought. Why now? Why with this strange boy he just met?

"Hey give me your phone." Jungkook demanded abruptly, shocking Jimin.

    "What? Why?"

"Why do you think? Just give it." Jimin hurriedly grabbed the device out of his pocket and handed it over. He watched carefully as Jungkook tapped away at his screen. "There." He said nonchalantly while handing it back.

"What did you do?" It was Jimin's turn to frown.

"I put my number in. Text me if you have any issues with finding anything. I have to go now."  He turned away to leave only to be stopped again.

    "Hyung wait!"

"Yes Jimin?" He turned back around.

    "Thank you."

"Don't mention it." Once Jungkook was out of sight, Jimin looked back at his phone and smiled.

"I think I just made my first friend."

——

Jungkook entered the school's game room to see his so called friends all hanging out. Suga was sprawled out on one of the couches half asleep. Jackson and Yugyeom were busy playing Madden, and Taehyung and Jaebum pauses their game of pool to greet him.    "Finally you're here. What took you so long?"

"Dude, I was in the middle of giving a tour. Aren't you all supposed to be in class?" Jungkook replied.

"Chill Kook. I got coach to write us all a note excusing is from class. Teachers can't do shit when practice run late plus it's not like they're gonna barge in here." Taehyung chuckled.

"Bro, you're mom's here. I'm sure she thinks you're in class. What if she goes by there to see you?"

"Fuck. I forgot she was coming today. What was she here for anyway?" Tae let out a heavy sigh, clearly annoyed.

"She brought a new kid here with her. He said he and his family are living with you guys now. I guess your mom thought I'd be a good idea to enroll him here too."

"What the fuck? How did I not know about this?" He frowned.

"Maybe because you tune your mom out every time she opens her mouth." Jungkook tone was laced with sarcasm.

"What else should I do? The woman loves to hear herself speak. Most of everything she says is complete and utter bullshit." Tae threw his pool stick down. His fuse was often very short.

"Well maybe next time you should try listening. Not everyone has a mom to listen to y'know."

"Yeah yeah yeah Kook. I get it. Your mom's dead. Get over it. It happened forever ago." He spat.

"I am over it. I'm just saying." Jungkook just rolled his eyes. He was so used to his friend's insensitivity that it no longer fazed him. "What'd you call me here for anyway?"

"I wanted you to come hangout with us."

"I can't. I have a ton of shit to do today. Not everyone can just skip class without any consequences or did you forget that too?"

"Not today stupid. I know you can't ditch. Tonight. Some chic that goes to that YG boarding school for girls is having a party tonight. It's gonna be at her parents lake house which isn't too far from here. We're all gonna hop in my car and go." Taehyung walked closer to him now with a smirk.

"Tae. You know how I feel about parties." Jungkook sighed.

"Yeah I know and I hate it." The boy scoffed. "I want the old you back. Not this new preppy goody good boy you're pretending to be." Tae said flicking his collar.

"Yeah? And whose fault is it that I have to act this way huh?" Jungkook crossed his arms and glared at the latter accusingly.

"Look guys. Can you not fight for once?" Jaebum asked aggravated.

"JB's right. Your always at each other's throats. What's the deal?" Yugyeom added pausing his and Jackson's game.

"It's nothing." Jungkook backed down not wanting to continue the conversation.

"Yeah whatever." Suga said finally sitting up from he previous position. "Are we going or not?"

"No-"Jungkook began before Tae cut him off.

"Yes. We're all going." The two were now standing profile, challenging one another. Although Jungkook knew he wouldn't win. Suddenly a dinging noise distracted them. Jungkook realize it was his phone so he pulled it out, and not a moment sooner the brown haired boy was snatching it out of this hand. "Who the fuck is Jimin and why the fuck is he texting you?"

"Give me my phone." Jungkook said trying to control his anger. He hated when Taehyung would be like this. For some odd reason, his friend constantly felt the need to assert dominance over him.

"Answer my question." The latter retorted.

"He's the guy whose family is living in your house, now give it back." Jungkook successful snatched it back failing to notice the evil grin forming on Taehyung's face.

"You know what? Why don't you invite him to come with us? I'm sure he'll be up to making some new friends. Besides, I wanna meet the broke bitch that's mooching off of my parent's money."

"No Tae. He's too young to get involved with all the craziness that goes down at those parties. He only a freshman."

"Oh~ that's even better then. Right guys?" The other boys tuned back in to the conversation.

"Yeah, it sounds like fun." Jackson smirked.

"Maybe we could even do a little old-fashioned hazing." Yugyeom suggested.

"No! No one's doing anything to him." Jungkook didn't know why he was getting so angry. He just didn't want them to bother the small boy. They could literally bother anyone else. Why Jimin? He's done absolutely nothing wrong. They've never even met him. Why do they want to bully him so bad?

"What the fuck is your problem Kook? Normally you wouldn't give a shit." Taehyung was getting even more annoyed. He doesn't like to be told what to do. Jungkook has never been this defiant. What was it about the new kid that was making him act this way? Suddenly a thought crossed his mind. "Don't tell me your gay for the little bitch!" He exclaimed with utter disgust.

    "What?!" Jungkook snarled.

"Yeah I bet that's what it is. Tell us, did the fag let you suck his balls?" Jaebum added.

"Shut the hell up. You pricks are disgusting." He said defensively.

"Well why else would you be protecting the little nerd unless he's giving you ass.. or maybe you're giving him ass." They all fell out laughing except for Jungkook who was fuming.

"I said shut the fuck up! I'm not protecting the bitch! You can do whatever you want to him! I don't give a fuck!"

"Then text him." Tae urged him smirking as he crossed his arms.

"I will." Jungkook did the same, but instead of a smirking, he scowled.

"Great then I'll see you both there."

"You will." Tae and the boys all pat Jungkook on the back egging him on while the dark haired boy only stared at his phone pitying Jimin for the mess he was about to be dragged into.
