September 1st 1939
It is the morning of September 1st 1939 Gleb and Christine just woke up and they are sitting in the living room. Then a sudden noise from the radio starts.
"Attention people of the world! Germany has just invaded Poland! Hitler is going through Poland completely ignoring the Treaty Of versailles after the World war. Today might be a start to another war among countries!"

Christine soon rushes over to Gleb who holds her tight.
"Gleb im frightened. What's going to happen to Europe, to France, to Paris, to us?"
"It's going to be ok Christine." Gleb said trying to calm her down.
"What if this starts another war? Will you be drafted?"
"I don't know Christine. All we can do now is pray."
Christine holds Gleb tight thinking what would happen if he was called to war. What would happen to him? He could possibly die. Christine started to sob into Gleb's chest thinking of him not returning home to her.
"Christine it ok, everything will be fine." Gleb said. But no one knew that this one event would lead to one of the most deadliest wars in history.
