Nico:*pouts* ive only had one chapter. And its with Maki too! Why does she get all the attention?
Me:*shrugs* I dont know...but I wish I got the attention...

You lean over the sink and cough as you watch blood run down your mouth. You cough some more before cleaning yourself up and going to your part time job. Im gonna need a doctor to check that out for me...you think as you smile and greet the first customer.

After a day of hard work, you get in your car and drive to the hospital.

It's a long time before you are finally called in by a red headed doctor. You stare at her for a while admiring her amethyst eyes.

"Excuse me..." she says clearing her throat slightly.

"Y-yes!" You look at her embarresed, having being caught staring.

"You are (F/N) (L/N), yes?"

You nod.

"What seems to be troubling you?"

"Well..." you say as you start talking about what you've been experiencing in the past few days, which is, coughing, unintentional weight loss, and chest pain.

She nods and takes a few test before standing.

"Ok, i will be back in a moment, please remain here until then."

You sit there for a while before she comes back in face looking slightly solemn.

"(Y/N)."

You look at her.

"You have been diagnosed with pneumonia."

"Ohhh," you say "that explains the pains I've been experiencing..."

She looks at you with eyebrow raised. "You've just been diagnosed with pneumonia, arent you even a bit worried? Or sad?"

You shake your head. "Not really, there's not really anything to be sad about, I can be cured, right?."

"What about your family?"

"My mom died, and my dad ran away."

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine, and dont be." you smile.

"...you have two options...you could either take these pills, or stay in the hospital for treatment."

"Whats the difference?"

"The medicine are the same, but if you stay here, and anything happens, we can treat it immediately. "

"Then I'll take the pills. Thanks!" You say as she hands you a small bag.

*time skip*

"Hi!" You smile cheerfully as you greet the next customer.

"Hi, (Y/N)."

You blink a few times. "Ah! Dr.Nishikino!"

She looks to the side before blushing slightly. "You're so loud...and just Maki is fine."

"Maki-chan then." You say smiling causing her to blush more twirling her hair. "What would you like for today?"

"Anything with tomatoes."

You stare at her before bursting out laughing.

"W-what?" She asks frowning "what are you laughing at?"

"This is an ice cream shop, we dont sell tomatoes..."

After hearing you she looks down face heating up, she turns around about to stomp out from embarrassment, but you are quicker, you quickly grab her hands.

"Wait!" You say "My shift ends in a few minutes, can you stay and talk? I'll even treat you to some strawberry ice cream."

She nods and goes to sit down at a table. You quickly finish your work before walking to her holding two cones of ice cream.

You two start spending more and more time together as you get to know each other better. Almost everyweek, you two would meet up and talk about life, even if it's just the weather.

One day, she declined your offer and said she had something to do, you nod letting her know you understand. You lie around in your house watching TV before seeing a commercial on a restaraunt nearby. Your stomach growls at the moment making you get up. You decide to drive to the restaurant.

As you walk in the restaraunt, you spot a familiar person immediately, Maki? What is she doing here... you walk closer to her booth, but not close enough for her to see you. Across from her, there is a dark haired girl in pigtails. Who's that...

You watch some more before you see the dark haired girl lean in and Maki blushing immediately after that. Angered, you stomp out the restaraunt, driving home.

You told me you were busy because you had to work. Why did you lie to me? You think painfully as tears start to build up. You could've just told me you had someone already, then I wouldn't be so stupid to continue to try and chase you.

*Maki's POV*

I had to decline (Y/N) today... I sigh. Why today out of all other days when I'm not hanging out with (Y/N)? The thought fustrates me.

I sit down at a booth in the restaraunt, across from me is Nico, a fellow doctor. We talk for some time before she suddenly leans in.

"So...Maki-chan, do you have anyone you like?" She asks smirking.

"I-i don't know what you're talking about." I say as I blush.

"So you do! Who is it?" She says and continuing to tease me. After a lot of persuasion, I decide to tell her who I like. This is so embarrassing...

"It's (Y/N), ok? Happy?" I say while she nods and grin causing me to blush all over again.

*Back to your POV*

For the past week, you have been replying Maki's texts with short answers, also declining her offer to eat lunch together. In addition to that, you haven't really felt like eating your medicine either. Your situation gets worst, but it doesn't really matter anymore, compared to the pain you are feeling in your heart, you don't really mind anymore. 

You drag yourself to work today as well. Just as you get there, you start to feel dizzy, then, everything blacks out.

*Maki's POV*

(Y/N) has been weird lately...her texts are also shorter than usual, should I be worried... (Uh, yes.) No...She's probably just busy... (Really, Maki, great friend you are...)

"Dr.Nishikino!"

"Yes?"

"We need you in the emergency room, one of your patients had a blackout during work!"

"Ok, I will be there."

I walk quickly to the room while checking the clipboard on wall, looking at the patient's information.

I feel my knees wobble under me as I look at the board in horror.

(Y/N)? It can't be right...it must be a mistake. I'll go in and correct them, theres no way she's here.

I walk in the room quickly and look at the patient. My heart nearly stops as I see her lying in the middle of the bed.

"Quick! Get her set up. "I immediately say. Please stay with me, (Y/N).

*Your POV*

You blink and open your eyes slightly confused, you look at your surroundings before looking down to see Maki's face close to yours.

"W-w-what?!" You whisper shout.

She opens her eyes and rubs them before looking at you. You could see her eyebrow crease as she suddenly grabs your shoulders.

"(Y/N)!"

"M-maki-chan?"

"Don't 'Maki' me, do you know how worried I was when I saw you in the emergency room?" You look at her confused for a second before remembering yourself blacking out during work.

"I'm sorry. "

"Why didn't you eat your medicine anyway?"

You look down. "I..."

"What? You what?"

"It doesn't really matter anymore."

"How could you say that? Of course you matter. "

"My mom and dad are gone, and you're just my doctor too, you would have to say it matters, it's your job. " you look at her as she tries to find words.  "See? So I was right."

"I didn't say those words because I was your doctor. " she says quietly blushing. "It's because you mean a lot to me. "

"Thanks, but you really don't have to do this, you can just leave me alone, no one can blame you for my death. "

"Where's the cheerful (Y/N) I know?" She suddenly asks, angry. "I'm saying it because I love you!"

There is a silence between you two.

She looks at you blushing, but you look at her coldly.

"(Y/N)?"

"You are such a liar. You don't love me. Going this far, saying you love me?" You scoff, her look shows that she truly loves you, but you can't help it, after seeing her with another girl, you felt like it was hard to believe her words. "I'm sure your pigtail friend wouldn't want to hear you saying that. "

"You mean Nico?" She looks at you before everything suddenly clicks. She chuckles softy.

"What's so funny?" You snap at her.

"She's just a doctor I'm working with."

"Then why were you blushing so much."

"Because she was asking about the person I like..." she says fiddling with her hair. "I'm sure you would also blush if asked about that?"

"Then you don't like her?"

"I just told you who I liked" she says softly, blushing madly.

"Well, why didn't you say so?" You grin as you pull her in a hug and kiss her. "I love you too!"

A/N: ok...Maki was OOC, the plot was not very good...and I honestly couldn't think of any other ideas...so yea... I might come back and change it again later. But, I hope you enjoyed it, and thanks for reading.
