μ's x amnesic!reader

A/N: @Hunter01a requested this one, with a whole plot line for me to more or less follow~

I apologize if it feels like some of the members didn't say much or had much of a role or if it feels like some members were more prominent. I really tried to make it even I swear! Also, I split this one up into two parts because holy balls did this get long. By the time I noticed it was over 4000 words lol. The bracelet in the picture is an actual item you can buy, in case anyone's curious. There's one for each character, and also ones for Aqours too on amazon~

Oh by the way, Happy Valentines! Consider this two-parter my gift to you all lol. Hope you all have a great time with your significant other, or if you're like me and you're significant other doesn't (currently) exist, then have a great day anyways xD

Anyways please enjoy~~!

"I'm sorry, but um....I-I don't believe I know any of you. I mean, aside from that the three of you share the same home room as me I, uh, I don't think we've ever spoken before, nor do I know what...what 'μ's' is..."

(Y/n) fidgets under the disbelieving and shocked stares of the three second year students as the words left her mouth.

"I-if you'll excuse me, I need to use the bathroom." The (h/c) haired girl then stands from the bench she's seated on and walks away from the three childhood friends.

"Sh-she...she doesn't remember us?" The shortest of the three, Honoka, speaks first, confusion drenching her tone. Her eyes dart between her two slightly taller companions before settling on the figure leaving them.

Ash haired Kotori only stares at (Y/n)'s retreating figure, shocked into silence. The gears running in her head both trying to process what she just heard and trying to figure out if it's only a cruel prank.

"We...we should talk to the others, let them know. M-maybe Maki might know something?" Umi, ever the more level-headed one, attempts to keep her emotions in check, to logically think this through, but even she can't help the sad longing in her tone as her copper eyes, like the other two, follow their, once, close friend until she's out of sight.

xXx

"(Y/n)-chan is back in school nya?!" Rin's smile lights up significantly, a stark contrast to the despairing gloom that colors the faces of Honoka, Umi, and Kotori.

"So? Why do you three look so sad then? Did something happen?" The student council president speaks up, worry slightly reflected in her features.

The three second year students look to each other for a few moments before they speak up.

"Well, we tried to talk to (Y/n) during lunch break about how we're glad she's back and that everyone in μ's misses her..." Kotori starts, "but..."

"She didn't recognize us. Or rather, she doesn't remember ever meeting us, only that the four of us share the same class. She...doesn't remember μ's either." Umi bluntly finishes as her eyes glance at the silent ginger.

"She doesn't remember us..." Honoka despondently whispers, just loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.

Silence permeates the club room as everyone stares at the ginger, trying to process the not only her words, but the weight they carried.

"M-maki!!" Nico eventually shouts, startling everyone, "You're the expert in this area as a soon-to-be-doctor, so what happened to (Y/n)?! She was staying at your family's hospital right?? You should know something! Did you hear anything?"

Instead of the expected snarky remark or the usual annoyed sound, Maki instead contemplates for a few moments, twirling her hair with one hand before sighing.

"I didn't hear anything from the hospital since they won't tell me anything, much like how they wouldn't even let me, much less us, visit her. Pa--Father wouldn't give me any information either about (Y/n)'s condition when I asked, only that she was recovering. Honestly, they were pretty secretive about the whole thing."

She looks to the second year trio before continuing, "You said she doesn't remember anything, right?" They nod, and Maki sighs once again, this time rubbing her temple.

"Then it's possible she has amnesia. Considering what we know about what happened, that she got into a car accident, it seems like the most likely explanation. It also kind of explains why they were being evasive about letting us see her."

8 pairs of eyes stare at her, letting her words slowly sink in as she twirls the strands of hair in her hand faster.

"A-amnesia? Like, memory loss? Th-then she might not ever remember us?"

"That's...possible," Maki turns her head towards Hanayo at her question, "but it's also possible that she'll remember it's just....there's no way to know when or if she'll remember. We could try different things to trigger her memory but that has its own set of consequences."

A pin dropping silence claims the room as everyone loses themselves in their thoughts.

Maki sighs and looks out the window, her thoughts, like everyone else's, turning to the (h/c) haired girl.

"...Shouldn't we try then?"

Nozomi cheerfully asks, her voice piercing through the silence and contrasting the mood that permeates the room, "I understand there are risks, but...I think the odds will be in our favor, if we try to help her get her memory back."

She then twirls a card in her hand before holding it up between her two fingers for everyone to see.

On the upright card were the words, 'the magician' with a picture of a man in white with a shawl-like red garment over him, a stick-like object in his right hand.

"This is only the beginning, after all, so why not try and do what we can? We all care for her very much, don't we?"

The determined look growing on everyone's faces is all the answer Nozomi hypothetically needs if she really needed an answer, but she already knew everyone's feelings were connected. One way or another.

"Practice was exhausting today!" A girl with bright ginger hair sighed out, her arms stretching outward on either side of her.

You wonder where you are for all of a moment before you feel your mind shift to focus on the figures before you.

"I had fun though...and I think I kept up better than usual!"

"I think so too. You've been improving, H---yo."

The girl with striking, sharp, amethyst eyes smiles at the now blushing short chestnut-haired girl as she smiles back, an onigiri in one hand.

Everything's so blurry. You try to focus your eyes but the harder you do the blurrier everything grows. You're only able to tell a few colors or features through the haze.

"How are the costumes coming along, K-t--i? Need any help?"

"No, I should be fine for now. N--o-chan's been helping me in the club room so we'll be done before long! How's the steps? Did you figure that one part out, E---chan?"

"Hm, not really. I asked U-- for some help since they're her lyrics we're trying to convey, but for now it's still going no where."

You wonder who these people are, and why a fond and longing feeling is washing over you.

"(Y/n), thanks again for helping today."

You feel yourself turn around and respond, thought, like before, you can't really see who's speaking, nor can you seem to hear anyone's name but your own.

"Geez, what're you even thanking me for, No--m-? I'm practically a part of --'s aren't I? An unofficial 10th member! Right? Besides, how can I not help you guys?"

She chuckles and pets you affectionately as you smile before you feel someone else hug you from behind.

"Don't hog (Y/n)-chan, nya!"

"What about me~? N--o belongs to everyone after all~~"

"Gross."

"Wha--?! M--i, you jerk!"

You don't know why but a sense of belonging fills your every being. But how could you belong when you don't know who these people are?

"(Y/n)-chan~"
"(Y/n)."
"(Y/n), nyaa~"
"(N/n)?"

Warm and bright. These voices...

"Oi, (Y/n)!"
"Ah, (Y/n)."

You don't know who's calling you but it feels warm and inviting. Like a wandering home you've stayed in a thousand times.

"(Y/n)-chan."
"Hey, (Y/n)-chan!"

They're waiting, aren't they?
But where are they?

...Who's this 'they'?

"(Y/n)?!"

You jolt awake, slamming your knees against the bottom of your desk as you groan.

You open your eyes and find your classroom to be as empty and quiet as it was before you fell asleep. Were your afternoon's always like this?

You start to think back to the dream you were having only for the details and events to start to slip through your fingers like sand as you feel a headache begin.

You sigh and sit up, looking out towards the window on your left at the setting sun, marveling for a few moments at the blended hues of orange and red.

As you lethargically stand and stretch, you feel a nagging insistence underneath the headache that you're forgetting something important.

Your left wrist suddenly itches and as you move your right hand to scratch it, a feeling of loss comes and goes, quicker than lightning.

You shrug and collect your things, figuring you might as well head on home and maybe do something about that headache that keeps coming back.

xXx

"(Y/n)?"

You pause in the middle of the school's courtyard and turn at the sound of your name to see a tall blond haired girl standing besides a busty, lavender haired girl. Surprise paints both of their faces as confusion marks yours.

Noticing their uniforms, you note that they're third years. You wonder if maybe you've seen them around before? Something feels familiar about them.

"Um, sorry do I know you, s-senpai?"

The blonde girl's face momentarily looks shocked before she gives you an awkward and slightly forced smile.

"Ah, um..."

"Of course she knows you! We both do~" The other girl cuts in, a smile etched on her face, "Don't remember us?"

You fidget, "W-well, no...the doctors did mention I had some memory loss though..."

"Hmm, well just know we're two of your girlfriends!"

"G-girlfriends?!"
"Nozomi!!"

"I'm kidding, kidding, we're just two of your best friends!" The girl, Nozomi, waves off the red-faced blonde's worried look and moves closer to you, "Since you don't remember, I'm Nozomi, the student body vice-president. The blue eyed blonde  with worry-lines on her forehead is the student body president Elichi~"

"Eli. My name is Eli. And I don't have lines on my forehead, Nozomi!"

You find yourself laughing a little at their exchange, a warm feeling settling in the pit of your stomach while your headache gets slightly stronger.

Seeing you laugh, both girls can't help the smile growing on their own faces.

Nozomi then places a hand on your shoulder as Eli walks closer.

"It's okay if you don't remember anything. We'll help you get your memory back. You're important to us, after all, (N/n)~"

You're about to question the nickname when Eli cuts in, "She's right. You're an important person to everyone in μ's and we'll do everything we can to help you."

You find yourself blushing at both of their words despite yourself.

μ's. There was that name again, you note in the back of your mind as you try to ignore the persistent headache. But, you wonder just who were they to you?

Before the accident, what was μ's to you?

xXx

As class ended a few days later, (Y/n) found herself talking to the same three girls from the day before yesterday.

"You want me to...what, again?"

(Y/n) raises an eyebrow at her three classmates and leans back in her chair, her (e/c) eyes studying each of them in turn.

"Come to idol practice with us! You don't have to do anything I guess, but you can help out if you want!" Honoka replies, determination lacing her every word.

"I-I mean, you're not busy, are you?" Kotori interjects after, a small pout forming on her face that causes (Y/n) to flush a light red.

"I'm-I'm not busy..."

"So you're coming with us then!"

Umi closes her eyes and sighs at Honoka, well, being Honoka, and then looks at (Y/n) with a small smile, "Thank you. It'd be great if you could also lend a hand."

(Y/n) only nods and stands, following the three girls into the hallway as she wonders why this feels familiar somehow.

"So (Y/n), do you remember anything about us or μ's? You talked to Eli-chan and Nozomi-chan yesterday right?"

"Honoka-chan, that's a little..."

(Y/n) shakes her head, her (h/c) locks swaying with her movement, "I don't remember anything, even after talking with them. Whenever I try to, I get these weird headaches and my wrist itches. Actually, my head kinda hurts right now."

"Maybe you should mention that to Maki when we get to the club room. I'm pretty sure it might be bad to force you to remember if you're having headaches and other side effects, but it'd be best to check with her to make sure."

(Y/n) finds herself agreeing and nodding at Umi's words despite not knowing who this 'Maki' person is and why she should ask her.

Following her fellow second years, (Y/n) feels her headache slowly grow stronger.
