Eli x teacher!reader

A/N: Here's your request Fennekingirl1996! Please enjoy it and thanks for the request~

You couldn't say you hated your job, but after a few short years of being a teacher, you can't say you really enjoyed it either. It paid the bills, and every now and then you got to make a positive difference in a student's life. All in all, it wasn't too bad.

Right now however...

"Sensei, here are the documents you asked for."

Maybe some higher being is testing you?

"Ah, thank you Ayase-san."

You don't think you did anything in particular to piss anyone or anything off...

"Also, the committee has finished discussing the approximate costs for the culture festival."

Maybe you just have shitty luck.

"Alright, in that case for the next meeting we need to assign roles for each member. Of course, we can't have you and Toujou-san shouldering too much work since you have your own club to worry about as well."

However with someone as gorgeous as the taller blue eyed female before you, maybe your luck wasn't so shitty after all.

'No, no, no, nonononono!' You can't help but internally scold yourself. After all, the beautiful blonde before you was a student! You weren't that far from her in age, but still! At best you could be fired and at worse you'll ruin her future and be unemployed!

"We'll be fine, (L/n)-sensei. We know not to burden ourselves. However we will help in anyway we can." She kindly smiles at you and you can't help but smile back.

"Just don't push yourselves." You finish filing some papers and turn in your seat to properly face her. "I'll be looking forward to your group's performance."

Her gaze lingers at you a little longer than it should before she replies, "I'm sure you'll enjoy it, (L/n)-sensei."

She politely bows before walking to leave the teacher's office.

You sigh and turn to face your desk. You recall the way her gaze lingered on you and nearly pound your head against the desk as you feel the heat on your face.

Maybe some higher being really is testing you.

xXx

It's been about two weeks and since then you've been busy dealing with everything related to the culture festival that's coming up in a few days now.

As the teacher in charge, that meant you were working pretty closely with the famous student council president herself. You suppose you can't really complain since she's easy to work with. Besides, whatever you were feeling was your problem and it wasn't like it was her fault, exactly. Though there were some moments where you did internally blame her for being, well, her.

You combated your thoughts by trying to distract yourself by burying yourself in your workload, in hopes that maybe you distract yourself enough to forget about anything Eli--uh, you mean Ayase related.

The blue eyed beauty in question, however, was no help in this matter. She would often talk to you during break about matters festival-related, and she even willingly helped you in the teachers office until the late evening filling out paperwork! Honestly, you were beginning to spend way too much time with her.

Because of that you've tried to avoid her lately. While you do appreciate the help, you could do without her lingering gazes, or her husky voice, or the way her eyes light up when you say or do something that amuses her, or the cute way her head tilts slightly to her left when she was curious about something or how---

You shake your head at those thoughts, begging yourself to stop. There was no way you were crushing on your student. Especially not the student body president and especially because you were a professional teacher.

"Um, (L/n)-sensei."

You stop writing and raise your head from the pile of papers on your desk, somewhat surprised. Did someone enter without you noticing? It was Sunday so there shouldn't be any students...

You turn your head to the owner of the velvety voice.

"Ayase-san?" You regard her quietly for a moment. She wasn't in her school uniform, and you couldn't help but feel yourself lightly flush at her casual workout look. "What are you doing here?"

"Um, w-well there was idol practice earlier and I remembered that there were some more papers I received that you need to take a look at or sign." She carefully lays a small stack of papers on your desk. You notice her clear blue eyes glance at the rather large stack of papers on your other side.

"I see. Thank you, Ayase." Not wanting to deal with the emotions threatening to burst from your chest, you turn to face the paper you were previously writing on. You continue writing on the sheet you were before your beloved student came.

Wait, beloved?

"Sensei." The student still by your desk quietly calls to you.

  "Hm? Is something wrong?"

"N-no, I..." you take a quick glance at her and immediately go back to stare at the paper in front of you. If you keep looking at her your certain you'd end up giving in to any of her whims.

"Do you need some help? I, uh, I have some time to spare."

You internally cringe and decide against facing her this time, continuing to write and sign the papers in front of you. "No, it's quite all right."

The room you both occupy grows silent, save for the light rustling of the trees you hear from an open window.

"Sensei, are you okay?"

"Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

"It's just that, you seem to be rather busy lately..."

You wish she'd just let you be. Right now it was dangerous for you to be alone with her. Not because you'd do anything, but you weren't sure how much more your heart could take. Somehow you were sure these foolish feelings would go away eventually anyways.

At least you hoped so.

"That's to be expected. Being in charge of the festival is tough work after all."

You see her fidgeting in the corner of your eyes for a few seconds before she replies, "That's true, but..."

"I'm fine, Ayase-san. Please don't--"

"Are you avoiding me, (L/n)-sensei?" You freeze and tense up at her blunt, whispered accusation. "A-and forgive me if I'm being rude but you don't seem to be getting any sleep, if the bags under your eyes or how tired you've been lately are any indication."

She was being merciless at her observations, and you can't say you could blame her either. After all, you were losing sleep from not being able to get your accuser off your mind.

"I've looked over some of the paperwork you've been filling out and noticed that some, if not most, of the completed paperwork could have been given to another committee member to complete rather than having you stress over it."

You let the silence take over as you could feel her staring questions at you.

"Sensei, plea--"

"Thank you for your help, as always Ayase-san. You should be heading home since it's late. I'll finish looking over a few more papers before heading home myself." You cut her off, not being able to stand both how sad and torn she sounded and how much your heart was hurting. Besides, you were technically the adult here. You weren't going to burden someone younger than you with your weaknesses.

Eli stood there for another minute watching you continue your work before reluctantly bowing, "Of course, (L/n)-sensei...Excuse me..."

She turned to leave, however you hear her stop just before the door. You pause your writing hand as the tension in the air starts to get to you.

"I can't be what you want, Ayase-san..." you quietly whisper, certain that despite the distance she still heard you.

You hear the door open and close. The scent of her perfume lingered; the only evidence that the girl you fell in love with was ever there.

xXx

"Sensei..."

Eli leans against the door and stares at the ceiling, listening to the scrape of your pen from the other side of the door. She sighs.

"You're only hurting yourself, you know?"

xXx

You leaned against the wall in the student council room. The festival was tomorrow, so you were just organizing some stray papers before heading home.

You sighed and looked out the nearby window. The sun was setting, coloring the sky a pale pink and orange hue. You stared out admiring the view until you heard the door open.

"...Sensei? What're you still doing here?"

You don't bother turning around. It wasn't hard for you to recognize her voice, even if you didn't want to.

"I could ask you the same thing, Ayase-san." You hear the door close and footsteps slowly approach you.

"µ's had one final run through of tomorrow's show. I came here because I forgot some documents I needed."

You hum in acknowledgement and the silence takes over as you continue to face the world outside, hands crossed against your chest.

Suddenly you feel arms wrap around your waist.

"W-wh-wha--, A-ayase-san?!" A bright blush covers your face as a warmth spreads across your body. "Wh-what do you think y-y-you're doing?! If we're caught like this..!"

"It's fine."

"What?!" You nearly squeak, incredulous.

"It's fine, sens-...(Y/n)." You feel like bursting into flames on the spot.

"Wh-wh-wh-wh-?!" you make a few more incoherent noises as you hear your taller student softly chuckle.

"I don't mind if we're caught like this."

"A-a-are you c-crazy?! Being caught l-like this will ruin your future! I'll lose my job!" Her grip around your waist tightens and you can hear her breathing next to your ear.

"So you don't like this then, (Y/n)?"

"S-s-s-stop calling m-me by my f-first name!"

"Hey, (Y/n), call my name too." Between her shallow breath on your ear, her body pressed against you, and her name on your tongue, the stimulation was just way too much for you to handle.

"S-s-stop this this i-instant, Ayase-san!" You fidget and squirm in her hold, trying to get away.

She lightly bites your earlobe in retaliation, "Coldly calling me Ayase is a no no, (Y/n). "

You can feel your head spinning, the husky tone of her voice right next to your ear pulling at your heartstrings.

She turns you around to face her. "(Y/n)..."

"L-let me go..." tears begin to form in your eyes, "this can't...I-I can't..."

Distressed at your sudden teary expression Eli immediately releases her hold on you. However you don't back away, or even make a single move.

"Why...?" You look up at her and begin to lightly punch her shoulders, losing the rest of your composure. "Why you?! Why now?! I've been trying so hard! This...I can't, you won't find whatever you're looking for in me! We can't be together! Please..."

You end up grasping at her shirt where her collar is, your hands balled into fists. You feel your tears running down your face. Why did your feelings have to complicate things like this?

"But you feel the same, don't you?" Her hands move to lightly hold yours on her shirt. "We...we can work this out, you know. Won't you...at least wait for me?"

Despite your tears you feel a blush return at full force across your features. Eli moves a hand to cup your face, thumb wiping away at your tears.

"I promise, it'll be worth it."

With her soft melancholic expression it almost seemed wrong to disagree. You stare at her for a few seconds before looking away.

"I-I...expect you to take full r-responsibility for anything that happens then...E-Eli."

The taller blonde smiles widely at you, "Of course, sensei."

A/N: Well, that turned out more uh, emotional? angsty? than I expected. Ending this one gave me a lot of trouble since I didn't want it to be too long and its already at almost 2000 words. Hope you enjoyed it though!
