Back where we left off... 

OH MY GOD KANAN JUST TOOK A BRICK AND THREW IT AT MARI!!! BUT MARI JUST BIT THE BRICK IN HALF! NOW SHE THROWS CHAIR AT KANAN WHO JUST PUNCHES IT!!!!

At least that's what I thought, I woke up from Riko shaking me. "Did I pass the test?" I asked.

Dang, it was just a dream... Why the hell am I even dreaming that Mari and Kanan are fighting. Oh yeah, because they're both being idiots. 

"No." Riko answered, "We're still taking it..." 

"Wake me up when it's over..." I said sleepily, "I was in the middle of a good fight..."

"Please just actually take it, it's not even that hard... What are you even dreaming about?" she whispered.

"Kanan just threw a brick at Mari, Mari ate the brick and threw a chair..." I said sleepily.

"I'm hoping this isn't something perverted..." she sighed.

"Don't worry, it wasn't... it oddly felt realistic..." 

"Take your test and explain it afterward." she said.

"I definitely failed that..." I said as we left the class. 

"You should've studied more!" Riko scolded.

"Or maybe they couldn't give us a test to begin with!" You chimed in.

"Yeah! There should be a class where giving tests is illegal!" Chika added.

"Yeah! Let's go sign a petition!" I said energetically.

"Don't even think about it." Dia said waiting for us outside of the school. "Let me guess," she studied us, "You failed a test so now you want to sign something that won't allow anymore tests..." 

"She's good." You whispered to me.

"Too good..." I whispered back.

"Come on let's go home..." Riko rolled her eyes. 

I considered going back to my house, but I needed help on some homework so I just walked right into their house with them.

I sat down and took out the homework. 

"Eh? You're actually studying?" Hanamaru eyed me suspiciously.

"Did you lose a bet?" Ruby asked.

"N-no I don't think so..." I thought hard, why was I studying... "That is a very good question..."

"He's finally going insane!" You called out from upstairs. 

Chika walked in with an orange. "Want one?" she asked.

"Sure." something wasn't right. There's something missing. There are so many people in this house right now. But it feels empty.

Who's missing?

Ah, the third years... "Where's Dia?" I asked.

"Onee-chan says she's making Mari and Kanan cool off." Ruby said.

"Wait so they never fought?" I asked confused.

"I mean they were mad but I don't think they actually fought." Hanamaru said grabbing a snack.

I peeled the orange Chika grabbed for me, "So why did it feel like they fought?"

"Maybe, it was a force beyond the knowledge of humanity and-" Yoshiko started.

"He's not controlled by demons..." Riko sighed.

"Wait so why did I have a dream that Mari said she was sleeping at my place?" I asked confused.

"Oh that part wasn't a dream..." You answered, "You really need to find your difference between a dream and reality."

"I think I need to do something fun so my mind can clear." I sighed.

"Too bad, we're doing homework come on. Ruby you'll help me today since Dia's not here right now." Riko said.

"I'll do my Rubesty!" She grinned.

It's extremely embarrassing that an eight year old can do math better than you can...

"How old are you?" I asked Ruby after she taught my the quadratic formula.

"Um, fifteen..." she said.

"F-FIFTEEN?!?!?!? I SWEAR TO GOD I THOUGHT YOU WERE EIGHT!!!" I said.

"It's cause she's cute!" Chika hugged her. "Have a lollipop!" She stuffed it in her mouth.

"Aw..." You and Hanamaru smiled.

"Very good little demon number four." Yoshiko said posing.

"Can you please act normal zura?" Hanamaru asked.

"Hehehe, this is my normal! As the fallen angel Yohane!" 

"Shut up, just shut up..." Riko shook her head.

"That's no way to talk back little demon Lily!"

We laughed and continued. After a while I finally learned the quadratic formula. -b + or - the square root of b^2 *4ac all divided by 2a.

And now to permanently delete that even though we have another test tomorrow.

It was about five o'clock in the evening when we finished. Which to be honest wasn't that bad. I headed off to my house thanking them. 

I knocked on my door. Nobody answered. Oh right, my parents were out of town on a business trip this week. Ugh, now I have to cook my own food.

When I walked in there were suitcases by the door. Wait what? Maybe they haven't left yet. 

"Mom? Dad?" I called out as I walked in. 

No one answered. Well I'm not gonna let that bother me, they probably forgot these.

I turned on the TV. There was still time before I had to eat dinner. What to watch...

"You should watch some Bunny Girl Senpai." a voice called out.

"That's a good idea..." I muttered. "WAIT WHAT?!?!?!" I turned around and there stood Mari.

She stuck out her tongue, "What? I told you I'd be here didn't I?"

"W-w-what?!?! I didn't think you were actually serious!!" I yelled. 

"Relax, relax, it's not like I'm being a bother." she said sitting down.

"Um yes you are being a bother!" I said.

"How?" she asked smiling. "Think of one good reason." 

"Um, for one, you're a girl. Two you walked into my house which is the same as breaking in."

She shook her head, "I said good reasons child." 

"I'M NOT A CHILD!" I protested.

"If you're not eighteen yet you're a child." she said smiling.

"Then what are you?" I asked.

She laughed, "Also a child!" 

I sighed, this was going absolutely nowhere. 

"Listen let me stay here for a little while. I'll cook for you!" she said heading into the kitchen.

"Can you even cook?" 

"Better than you!" she said before getting to work.

I got a call from my mom just then.

"Mom, thank goodness you called I want to ask you something." I started.

"If this is about Mari staying over then yes, she's going to stay there until we come back..." That moment when even your mom betrays you, you have to submit. It's just science.

"Fine. But only if she cooks really good food." I said before hanging up. 

"It's almost done!" Mari called from the kitchen.

"Alright..." 

I gotta say... Mari's food, it doesn't look the prettiest. But the taste is a different story... 

"This is really good!" I said digging in.

She grinned smugly, "Obviously! I'm Mari the greatest chef of all time!" 

"Yeah okay." I said rolling my eyes. "This is pretty good."

She smiled, "Yeah, yeah, you can tell me it's not the best but you know deep down it is..." she also began to eat.

"Oh man I'm stuffed." I said happily. 

"That's good," she said, she nodded towards the piano, "You play?" 

I stood up, "Yeah, you?" I opened the piano.

"No, I sing though." she said.

"Alright let's here it. What do you wanna sing?" I asked.

"Dang, I'm gonna sound so old by saying this, but how about, 'Can't help falling in love with you.' by Elvis?" 

"Yep, no problem..." I said as I began playing. But before I did I started to record it on my phone.

"Wise men say... only fools rush in. But I can't help falling in love with you." Mari had a really good voice. 

Alright I had an incredible plan, I was gonna send this to Kanan and see what she thinks... It was a perfect way to put them back on good terms.

True it was low and Mari may not want me to do it. But I was gonna do whatever it takes to make sure they weren't mad anymore.

"Like a river flows..." she continued to sing.

"Take my hand... Take my whole life too..."

"For I can't help, falling in love... with you..." she finished.

I swear I saw some tears in her eyes after she finished. But then again they could've just been tears from my eyes. 

I stopped the recording and sent it first to Dia to see what she'd say. 

She approved it so I sent it to Kanan. 

Kanan's POV

My phone buzzed, I just finished homework and could use a little break. It was a video from pervert. We should really call him by his real name...

Actually did we even know his real name? 

I shook my head at the thought and just played the video. 

It was him playing the piano. The intro sounded familiar. Then someone started singing. 

Mari.

"Wise men say, only fools rush in... But I can't help falling in love with you..." 

Dang... I'm not crying you're crying! Frick... I can't do this... I know exactly what this is! Pervert's trying to guilt trip me! It won't work! I swear on my life! 

Even Mari singing won't make me budge... But then a few hours later he sent another video.

I'm not proud of this but when he sent the second video I'd been listening to her singing on loop.

And let me tell you that video hit me so hard I felt like I was just stabbed.
