Chapter Twenty-One: Please Don't Say You Love Me
The next morning it was like they were indeed a couple. When Tasha woke she was halfway on top of Loki, his soft, cold hands on her back as his fingers traced circles on her skin. He hummed softly when she stirred slightly, resting his palms on her back to keep her in place. She pressed a light kiss to his chest
"Maybe... maybe I take back what I said, alright?" Tasha wouldn't look at him as he pulled the sheet off of them. "Of course I feel bad about what I've done—"
"Shh." Loki shushed her as he pulled her against him, their bare bodies tangling perfectly. "None of this is your fault. Please don't think that, my love."
"I know it's not." Tasha retorted, resting her head on his chest, listening to his fast heartbeat. "But still... I'm not sorry for what I did. Whatever happened, happened because you faked your death. Ultimately this is on you... but I know that it must have hurt you terribly."
Loki was silent for a moment. "It was... less than desirable, but I deserved it."
Tasha hummed in acknowledgment. "Perhaps, but I never want to be the one causing you pain."
"When I saw that you were beginning to be happy with your friends on Earth, I realized I was holding you back from living your life without me, so I kept my distance. I couldn't stop myself from watching you, though... I saw you with that man. The way you smiled at him..." Loki sighed, shaking his head. "I quit watching after that. But one night I felt this pain in my chest — and I thought something happened to you — but when I saw you..."
"You saw me with him."
"Yes..."
There was silence for a moment as Tasha tried to think of something she could say to make him feel better, but she knew better than that. Instead, she decided she didn't have to say anything. Tasha leaned up on her shoulders, looking down at Loki with a soft gaze. She could see the tears in his, but when she looked at him she saw the love and adoration, but also confusion.
"What?" She asked softly, caressing his cold cheek gently.
"What does... what does this all mean? For us..." Loki asked as he sat back against the bed frame, pulling Tasha up with him as he rested his hand on her hip. He leaned into her touch, resting his other hand over hers. Loki didn't want to lose her again. He couldn't bare to watch her fall in love with someone else, not again.
Tasha was quiet a moment, pondering his question as even she didn't know the answer in that moment. "I... I can't forgive you for what you've done. For everything you've done... but I can't force myself to pretend to hate you anymore, because I can't hate you. We both know I can't. And honestly? I don't want to. Maybe I'm cursed to be broken by you forever, or maybe you're actually changing and becoming a better person... But you're my soul mate, Loki, and as much as I want to push you away, I can't."
Loki slowly smiled as she ran her fingers through his hair. "I don't expect you to forgive me. I don't deserve it, and I certainly don't deserve you, but I will spend the rest of our lives doing my best for you."
She smiled slightly, but Loki could see the fear and hesitation in her eyes. He pulled her down slightly, pressing his lips to her temple. "I know you're afraid, and I'm aware my words do little to help, but know that I do love you, and I will do everything in my power to be the man you deserve. Someone good. Someone worth a damn."
"You always were that to me." Tasha replied sadly, but nuzzled her head against his shoulder as she rested her hands against his bare chest. "But I don't want to talk about that now, okay? I just want to enjoy this." She pressed her lips to his shoulders as she sighed contently. "I just want to enjoy being with you."
Loki couldn't help but grin at her words, pulling her so she was straddling his waist. He pulled her into a chaste kiss before trailing his lips down to her jaw. "Do you remember when we were younger and we would sneak around the castle at night?"
Tasha giggled as she pondered the memory. "Father caught us once and locked us away for an entire week."
"Little did he know I knew my way around." Loki smiled against her skin. "I believe he came to his senses after two days of keeping us apart."
Tasha hummed in acknowledgement. "Oh! Do you remember when father found out about us?!" She laughed as she pulled back so she could look at him.
"How could I ever forget that?" Loki smirked. "I seem to recall he walked in on us that one time —"
"Eek! Ew, don't make me remember that!" Tasha hide her face in the crook of his neck. "Father was furious! I hadn't seen him so angry. If it weren't for mother I think we both would've lost our heads."
"Probably." Loki admitted with a chuckle, slowly rubbing her sides. "May I ask you a question?"
"Mhmm." Tasha replied lazily as she peppered soft kisses to his neck.
"If I asked you, would you stay here with me?"
"Oh..." Tasha blinked a few times, frowning. "Loki— We can't just stay."
"Why not?" He asked as she pulled back. "We can have a life here. We can start over—"
"I have a life, Loki!" Tasha replied as she tried to pull away, but Loki just pulled her body flush to his causing a soft breath to leave her lips. "I can't — we can't just abandon our people! You're the one who wanted to be King!"
"What do you expect us to accomplish by going back? Hmm?" Loki replied in frustration.
"I'm not going to sit here while our people are murdered by our sister." Tasha sighed, looking into Loki's green eyes. "If you hadn't... then I would've stayed in a heartbeat, but you need to realize this is who I am. I'm not a coward who would leave her people to die."
"Are you calling me a coward?" Loki scoffed.
"Indirectly, yeah." She stuck her tongue out st him. "Loki," she sighed, leaning forward to press her lips to his gently. "If you want to stay you can stay, but I'm going home as soon as I can find a way back."
Tasha slid off the bed, needing to bathe to rid herself of the sweat that covered her body. As she stepped into the shower, she relished in the cool water, used to it as she had been in the habit of cold showers ever since Loki, well died. She let out a sigh as she ran her fingers through her damp, tangled hair. As she went to grab the bottle of body wash, her fingers were brushed against another pair, grabbing the bottle before she could.
"It's rude to leave your significant other during a serious conversation." Loki hummed as he brushed her hair to her front, rubbing his soapy hands against her back.
"I left before I got hurt." Tasha replied, leaning her hands against the shower wall.
"Turn around." Loki commanded, resting his hands on her shoulders as he begun to turn her. She rolled her eyes as she looked up at him, trying to keep her gaze away from his lower half. Loki smirked for a moment before it turned into a soft smile. "Where you go, so shall I."
"Loki..." Tasha sighed when she felt Loki's hands moved from her shoulders to her neck, then lower to her chest. "You can't make promises you won't keep."
"I will keep my promises." Loki replied as he gazed at her, watching as she turned to putty in his hands. "I do not wish to ever be away from you. Not ever. No matter what." He rubbed his thumb over her nipple, causing her to let out a moan as she rested her hands against his bare chest.
"I want to believe you." Tasha said quietly as she tried not to moan as Loki's other hand moved down her body to her heat. He slipped his fingers through her folds, wasting no time before pushing two into her. Her walls instantly clenched against his fingers, making the God chuckle deviously.
"Darling, you're already so wet for me. You naughty girl." Loki pulled his fingers out of her, bringing them to his lips to taste. "Mm, you still taste absolutely divine." His usual bright green eyes were dark, and his usual pale skin had a slight blue-ish pink-ish tinge to it. "I will spend every moment," He gently pushed her back against the wall as the water cascaded over the two of them. "Of every day, making sure you feel my love for you, in every way possible."
Tasha gazed up at him, her eyes also dark as she tangled one hand through his dripping wet hair. "I guess you better get started, my king." She teased in a sensual voice as she moved her hands down his chest to his hard abdomen. Loki chuckled greedily as he felt her hands venture further south, but let out a grunt when her fingers brushed his already hard member.
Tasha giggled, pleased with herself that she was able to make the mighty Loki turn into a mess, the same he could do her. "You do love to dominate me, don't you, dear?" She hummed as she trailed her fingers from the base of his shaft to his tip, letting a finger rub against the precum that had begun to leak.
"Don't tease, darling." Loki used one of his hands to grab onto her neck, the other gripping her waist tight.
"But it's so fun." She looked up at him innocently before breaking her composure when he shoved his drenched body against hers, crashing his lips against hers hard.
"Loki!" Tasha whined as she felt him against her, her fingers moving to play with his hair as he began to thrust against her thigh.
"Mmm, yes darling?" Loki smirked into the kiss and Tasha pulled back to glare at him. "I'm sorry, my sweet, you're just so adorable when you're mad. It's very attractive."
"How am I supposed to be mad when you say stuff like that?" She huffed in annoyance before she wrapped one of her legs around his waist, pressing her body completely against his so his cock ground against her slit.
"Fuck." Loki hissed, resting his forehead against hers. "
After an hour of intense love making, Loki carried Tasha's now clean, damp body to their room. He set her on the edge of the bed as he grabbed a towel. He began drying off every inch of her body. Tasha knew he could've just used magic, but the fact that he instead took his time made her heart flutter.
Maybe...
Maybe things will work out.
Maybe...
