Chapter 35: Rewrite the Stars
In an instant Asgard was consumed by fire before exploding into thousands of millions of pieces.
Goodbye home.

Tasha walked through the corridor of the ship with a sigh. Where the bloody hell did Thor run off to?! She huffed in frustration as she walked over to Korg. "Hey Korg! I was wondering if you perhaps knew where Thor ran off to?"
"Hey man." Korg smiled at her. "I saw him head to the Captain's quarters."
"Thanks dude."
Tasha stalked down the halls, trying to comfort those she found along the way. Once she was alone however, her strong demeanour fell as she felt the gravity of the situation his her. She took a deep breath as she looked out the window at the blank spot Asgard once stood, a cold feeling crawling through her skin. Slowly, she lifted her fingers to her lips, touching them gently as she closed her eyes, reliving the kiss she had shared with Loki only hours prior. It was everything she knew yet completely new. Maybe Loki did change. But why did he go? The thoughts left her as she opened her eyes as faint footsteps became louder as they neared her.
"I've been looking for you everywhere!"
Tasha's eyes widened in shock as she was lifted into strong arms, but in mere moments was pulled back as Loki's green eyes examined every inch of her. "Are you hurt? I—"
"You're here." She said breathlessly, the surprise unable to be hidden from her voice.
Loki's eyes met hers for a moment, a worried look on his face. "Where else would I be? Now, let me see—" His hands went to her sides, one pushing her arms back as he tried to examine her entirely.
Tasha didn't budge. "I thought... I thought you left."
Loki's gentle grip on her waist tightened as his free hand brushed against a small cut on her forehead, making it heal almost instantly. "Where you go, so shall I. I made you a promise, Tasha, one I intend to keep."
She smiled slightly before averting her eyes to his chest. "What about you? Are you injured?"
Loki scoffed as she pulled away from him slightly. "Of course not."
Tasha rolled her eyes. "Always the charmer. I've been trying to find Thor."
"While I've been searching for you, you've been searching for our brother." Loki mused as he walked by her side through the long corridor. "I should be offended."
"In all honesty I didn't ever think you would stay. I mean, I wanted you to, but —" She stopped herself, sighing. "Never mind. Let's just find Thor..."
They walked in silence, each sneaking glances at the other until they came upon the door Thor was apparently on the other side of. Tasha waited patiently as Loki stepped through, standing back to let the two hopefully have a bonding brother moment.
"I'd maybe even hug you if you were actually here—" Thor threw the item at Loki, who caught it in his hand.
"I'm here."
Tasha watched as Thor's eyes lit up at the revelation that Loki had stayed. For the first time in all their lives, Loki had kept a promise.
"Look at you two, isn't this adorable." Tasha was beaming as she wrapped her arms around both of their necks.
"You seem to be in a cheerful mood." Thor stated as the three walked through the corridor.
"We defeated Hela!" Tasha grinned when she let go of them, turning to face them. "It's time to celebrate. Our people need it. I need it." Tasha's happy expression faltered for a moment as her eyes drifted to Loki. "But anyways, we gotta go! You can't just slack off your duties, Big Brother!"
"My duties? What are you talking about?"
"C'mon, brother." Tasha smiled at the two men in front of her. "Your people await."
Thor followed Tasha as she continued walking, "They are our people." He pulled her into a tight hug, making her laugh like a child as he spun her around.
"Our people." She agreed with a grin as she walked between Loki and Thor.
Loki had been silent ever since they had entered Thor's room, and Tasha was a little upset by it. She needed him, now more than ever. Her thoughts were interrupted as they reached the door that went into the main hall of the ship.
Thor looked at Tasha, nudging her forward. "Go on, sister."
"Me?! You're our leader—"
"You're our Queen." Loki smiled at her, a knowing glint in his eyes.
Tasha shook her head vigorously. "No! No, I'm not a Queen! I'm just a princess!"
Thor gently grabbed her arms as he saw the panic on her face. "Sister. This is your destiny. The throne is yours now as it has been since I gave it up. Neither Loki nor I are worthy to rule our people... but you've grown so much, and you've become this strong young woman who kicks ass. I am proud to call you my sister, and I would be honoured to call you Queen."
Tasha was silent as a small smile came to her face. "We will rule together. All of us. As a family."
"Of course." Thor agreed with a pat on her back. "Now come on, let's not keep them waiting.
Tasha glanced back to Loki who gave her a warm, encouraging smile. She smiled back at him as she turned the corner with Thor standing behind her. When the people noticed Tasha, they all bowed to her, causing Tasha to halt her steps for a moment.
There were cheers from the crowd as she curtsied to them, before reaching for their hands as she walked the aisle. Tasha made a point to go around the room and touch everyone's hand who wanted to, to show her care for them all as equals.
"There is no need to kneel, my friends." Tasha spoke as she stood at the front of the ship. "I am no different from any of you, nor are you different from I. We are one. A people whose home resides in here." She pointed to her heart, a sad smile on her face. "I know many of us have lost so much. Family, friends... so many people suffered at the hands of Hela — but no longer. She has been defeated, and I promise to each and every one of you, everyone who died because of her will not die in vain. I am your princess, the daughter of Odin and Frigga and rightful heir to the throne — if you will have me."
The crowd cheered for her, making her smile as he looked towards Thor and Loki. "I will be your Queen, but I shall not rule alone. Thor was meant to be King before I was heir, and I see it only just that he rules by my side. Brother and sister. To show that we are all family."
Thor stepped towards the two main seats at the front of the ship, smiling at his sister as the two of them sat down as leaders of their people.
"So, King of Asgard." Val started with a smirk. "Where to?"
"I'm not sure. Any suggestions?" Thor glanced at his people before looking over to Korg and Miek. "Miek, where are you from?"
"Miek's dead." Korg said, causing Tasha to raise her eyebrows as she looked at the body he held in his arm. "Yeah, no, I accidentally stomped on him on the bridge. I've just felt so guilty, I've been carrying him around all day."
As soon as he said this, Miek let out a squeak.
"Miek, you're alive! He's alive, guys. What was your question again, bro?"
Thor looked at his sister who grinned at him.
"Earth it is."

"That was some speech, darling."
"Thanks." Tasha smiled slightly as she looked over at Loki. Thor had gone to speak to their people while Tasha had stayed near the front of the ship. "Do you think it was too much?"
"It was perfect." Loki smiled at her. "My Queen." He took her hand in his before kissing it, sending warmth to her face.
"I don't think I'll ever get used to that." Tasha hummed in appreciation, interlocking her fingers with his as they looked at one another. "I don't know how to be a leader, Loki."
"Yes, you do." He replied with a smile, his free hand moving to caress her cheek. "You're a natural born leader. That is why father always wanted you on the throne."
Loki then noticed Tasha smiling. "What?"
"You called him father." She said quietly as she averted her gaze. His hand dropped from her face but instead wrapping around her waist.
"Was he not?"
"He'd be proud of you, you know." She leaned her head against his arm. "As much as you say he despised you, I know father loved you just as much as he did Thor or I."
Loki smiled as he focussed on her comforting him. "They both would be very proud of you."
"I hope so... I miss mother so much sometimes." She let out a soft sigh.
"I know. I do as well but know that mother loved you with all her heart."
"Thanks. I keep wondering if I shouldn't have had mother erase the memories of my biological parents. I know that were their wishes but... It's like a part of me is always going to be missing. And with both mother and father gone it's as though an endless void is consuming me from within."
Loki pressed his lips to her forehead. "I am here. Whatever you need. You know that, right?"
Tasha smiled up at him. "Thanks, Loki. I should probably go talk to Bruce, he doesn't exactly look like he's fitting in too well."
"I'll be here when you want to talk."
