CHAPTER 16:

NAVYA POV:

Today is going to be a great day. I never had such feelings in my life. My world is tiny, and it revolves around Divya and dad. I have friends too, but I am not an open book for them.

Now, Arvind, my love is a new entry into my little world. Yes, today I am going to meet him at the shopping mall. Oho! My heart started to flutter.

After finishing our breakfast, we both started from home as usual.

"Divya, I am tensed of going there alone."

"You are not a kid, Navya. Come on, go and talk and understand if this is really loving or something else", Divya suggested.

"You ought to become more acquainted with each other "

Yup, to make our love relation work out practically. We should be clear on everything in the start itself.

Divya was with me till I took the bus to go to Forum Mall. She waved and winked at me, wishing all the best as the bus geared up.

I went to the shopping mall and after thinking a thousand times whether to dial to him or not called him.

He asked to come to KFC. The place was crowded although it was a weekday. I could hear my heart pump ear to ear even in that noise.

I started to look around to spot him. Suddenly I felt someone tapping on my shoulder from the back. A shiver ran through my spine, which made me drop the purse from my hands. I know who it is. It's None other than Arvind. My heart skipped a beat at that moment.

"Hey! You should come to a normal state," I said to myself. I bent to take my purse without turning back. To my amazement, he too inclined to take it. Our hands briskly touched, which made us look at each other.

"Shall we go grab a seat? There we can order something and talk", he said softly.

Hmm, okay.

He asked," what do you want to have?

"Anything is fine."

"Okay... I will go order and come...you be seated here."

My crazy mind was going bonkers. He looked like a greek god to me.

He brought bucket wings and krushers. We started to have silently.

I wanted to talk to him. So I initiated the conversation.

"I have an elder sister. We are twins. You have seen her already in the exhibition. Our mother died when we were toddlers, and our Father took care of us since then. He is a bank employee."

"Now, can I know about you?"

"My mother left us after giving birth to me. My Father is a contractor, and I have an elder sister who is married and Stays in Bangalore."

He, too, is deprived of a mother's love just like me. I could imagine his childhood without a mother.

He seemed to be in a thought process. I wasn't sure what was running in his mind. This is our first date.

A long silence ruled between us. I wanted to break the silence but didn't know what to do.

Woo-hoo! Suddenly an idea popped in my mind.

"Arvind... Shall we play a question and answer game?"

ARVIND POV:

We met at the shopping mall. She seemed very excited. I didn't know how to start a conversation. By any means, I should reveal the truth. We sat in KFC and started to have Bucket wings and Krushers, which I brought a few minutes back. She told me about her family and asked me to talk about myself too.

I had no other option and introduced myself. Later, Navya asked if we could play a game.

"Question and answer game? What's that."

I asked her with a question mark expression.

"I will ask you something that I want to know, and you will have to answer it, and the next turn would be yours to ask me, and I'll answer. This will continue until we don't have any more questions."

That was quite interesting. If Navya raises a question about something related to my problem, I can reveal my issue without hesitation. I readily accepted.

"First my turn," she said. She might have come with questions already.

"Did you think we would come to that giant wheel spot?'

I wanted to say I was expecting your sister because I love her and not you. But, I refrained as it was too early to reveal the truth.

"I wished you would come, but not I was not sure." I gave a casual reply.

"Your turn."

"Where did you see me the first time?"

"I saw you first time in the park... The same day, when your friend got beaten because of me. Now your turn," she said.

I inhaled air deeply and exhaled out while nodding as ready.

"What made you accept my proposal?"

"Hmm, that is love, why? This means I don't think anyone in the world can explain this. It's the matter of the heart."

OMG! She is very seriously in love. I am in deep trouble. Your turn, I said as my mind was killing with the question 'why don't you tell her the truth?'

"What made you propose a girl with a letter?" she questioned on her turn.

This is the time Arvind. Come on... Tell her that I made up my mind to propose your sister.

"Well, I had no other option, as I am a shy guy." I couldn't get the courage to disclose the truth yet.

She blushed to my answer." Next question," I said to get rid of the awkward situation.

"Did your friend tell you that he was beaten by people at the park because of me?" she inquired.

"Yes, he said. Actually, my friend is a good guy, but he tries to flirt sometimes. You misunderstood him because of the phone conversation."

Now my turn, as she is asking about my friend, I'll try to ask about her sister. What to ask? I fell down from the bike near her house, where Divya laughed from her balcony. But she didn't connect to me. So, I need to ask a question related to it.

"Why does your sister always walk in the balcony reading a book?"

Hahaha... She laughed and said, "No, my sister is always hooked to music with her earphones always on. At the same time, she would read a book while walking in the balcony."

Earphones on her ears? I couldn't see it. Oh! She always leaves her hair loose. Her loose hair might not have allowed me to observe the earphones. She might have giggled on the excitement of music. I was a fool.

"My turn," she said.

"Do you think love relationships work better than arranged marriages?"

"Whether it is a love marriage Or arranged one if couples are genuine and open with each other and adjust/adapt themselves without losing their self-respect, then marriage works."

Your turn

"When did you feel that I am the one for you?"

"You fell from the bike while roaming around for me that day. that's when I fell for you."

"While I was drying clothes on the building terrace, I saw you roaming around our apartment. You fell down from your bike, and I fell for you. Funny, right!"

Oh shit! Navya was at the building terrace, and she thought I had done those things for her.

God, please give me the power to tell her the truth.
