LLFTX: XXXV

A reader requested a point of view from the SITSC guys. So the original plotline will come to a pause until next chappy ^_^! So if you're frustrated then blame her! Just kidding, @Nobody_Special_ is amazing! And thank her for the new cover of my DDIWT fanfic!

Oh yeah, @JustForFun0103 asked to see my hair...so here's the media! Let me know it if can't show. And yeah...it was a bit windy that day.... OK I'll stop babbling:

Yuzuki's POV

"And that's about it. I look forward to working with you."

I easily told she wasn't acting naturally since she was being too sickly sweet for one of normal persona. If this girl's doing my serial cover on this magazine, I don't want her being all empty sugaring around me.

As soon as the editor in chief left the room for us to discuss our plans, I went forward and said: "you can drop the act, now." she threw me an innocent, puzzled face. Almost enough that I believed. This one should totally consider being an actress instead of an editor.

Been acting each day of my life. I don't want to continue it when I'm not in front of the media.

"So what're your plans for tomorrow?" she asked as she prepared to jot down on her notebook.

"I'm gonna go meet some friends, we're going to a museum." Yup. We heard from side news that the Black Foxes just send out a new threat on robbing that exact museum. Just gotta see what the international Robin-Hood-thieves are after, right?

At 8:50 am sharp. I exit my hotel room, met up with the others, and we walked down the double stair cases. I spot her right at the main lobby. Ryoichi simply shrugged when I suggested the idea, I don't even know how we managed to convince Noel to come with us. Mirai was the only one who's actually interested. Who knows what tricks he has up his sleeves?

She beamed at us all a smile as I introduced her.

As soon as Ryoichi pulled her face up, though. I can see the bitter leaking through her eyes already.

"Paws off." She warned in a harsh tone. I almost laughed out loud, this is first that I've seen a woman slap him clean off with no hints of flirting in her actions.

To supress a laugh, I just smiled, "I see you're opening up."

You can't take photos in a museum, of course I know that. And of course she isn't dumb, she'll ask eventually. I think the other three sensed this as well. We kept the conversation going, not giving her any chance to approach the topic.

That night, we stood by our 'stake-out' spot. Half a block away from the building.

I saw a van pull up, and three figures jump out.

When two figures ran back, though. It was too dark to see their faces, but when one glanced our way, I immediately recognized her eyes. I think Noel, Ryoichi and Mirai did too. She definitely saw us here. But she didn't inform anyone about it, the van drove away without any trouble for us.

"...Now that's interesting." I heard Mirai remark after the vehicle was out of our sight.

"A female thief, eh?" Ryoichi pulled on his signature smirk while Noel remained expressionless. Does anything ever shock that guy?

Why didn't she do anything about this? All it would've took was one clear picture under shot light, then the whole ring of thieves would be doomed. How could she be so sure that we won't report on her?

The next day, she met me at the hotel. Mirai and Ryoichi came with me to meet her. She was acting completely normal despite the fact that she saw us spying on them.

"You...you're a Black Fox." Mirai blurted out.

Her sweet smile changed into a dark one so instantly, I didn't have time to react as she clicked her pen: "it's not so polite to spy on people."

She was oozing with confidence as she shook her head and denied that we may will report to the cops. And her reasoning?

"Because you value your lives, don't you?"

It was then I decided that I liked this girl. I already made a mental promise right there and then that I'll never betray her. I've never seen the BF as criminals, anyways. They were returning paintings to rightful owners.

Don't know when the other two warmed up to the idea, but she seemed to trust us with this big secret of hers.

Once we were by ourselves...

"Are we really not going to call the cops on them?" Mirai asked.

"Of course not." I replied without a thought. Sure there's the prize money and stuff, but none of us need that. Me and Ryoichi are both celebrities. And Mirai has his own ways that no one really knows. It's just up to the police themselves to find their target.

It was early dusk of one normal day. Lillie and I made plans for dinner.

She wasn't in the lobby that time so I walked out to see if she was waiting outside. But then-

"Yuzuki!" her voice yelled out and my gaze jerked across the street. Oh my god. Blood was streaming madly down her arm, even from where I was standing I could see the red puddle starting to form on the pavement. I quickly rushed over.

As if relieved that I was now with her, she closed her eyes and let gravity do the rest.

I put both arms around her just in time that she didn't crack her skull onto the hard ground. The fact that blood was getting on my suit didn't occur to me at all as I hurried back into the hotel and called for medical supply. Thank god that street was secluded that day. I almost scared the hell out of the front desk receptionist, though.

As her wound was treated and bandaged. The medical threw me several curious looks, I know he wanted the cause of this, but I didn't know that either.

She was out the entire night. That morning, at about eight thirty am. After I took my shower and changed into new clothes. I took a look at her.

I'd always thought that people looked peaceful and genuine, even vulnerable in their sleep, like a kid. But not her. Her brows were tightly knitted as her clenched fists trembled by her side; her arms were stretched straight. Her guard completely up even in her unconsciousness.

I don't know how long has passed since I was just lost in my thoughts staring at her. When suddenly her right arm tossed over, nearly hitting me in the face, as if swinging a blade at someone. At first glance I thought she was awake and purposely messing with me, but as soon realization came to me I saw her flinch in pain of her wounded arm. She definitely wouldn't hurt herself on purpose.

As she started to whimper lightly, I shook her awake.

Though it must hurt badly, she smiled as she thanked me.

"Sorry for the trouble." I almost felt like reaching out and grabbing her as she looked a bit fragile while sitting up on the bed. She examined her bandage wrappings. Why does she seem so used to knife injuries? I had wondered.

"How'd you get like that?" Curiosity got to me as I asked. She was stabbed in the middle of the street come on who wouldn't wanna know.

As she told her tale in the calmest voice ever, my eyes widened considerably. Were thieves trained to be so strong?

"Are all Black Foxes that tough?" as soon as the question slipped out of my mouth, she suddenly shot up.

"Yuzu, sorry that I was in the way of everything and thanks for everything but I've gotta go!" she dashed out as I mumble: "well you're grateful."

But the way she called me 'Yuzu' left in my mind for a little. Only Mirai called me that, and only because he was my junior.

I've decided then. I phoned Mirai: "get whatever you can on the Black Foxes, the best if you find their headquarters."

He didn't question me, just a 'got it', and hung up. Knowing Mirai, he'll just about do it.

Sure not to disappoint, he got us an address.

Once the three of us arrived there, though, it became rather obvious.

Le Renard Noir was painted across as the restaurant bar name. It literally translates into 'the black fox'. Noel would've known.

"How'd you explain, though?" I heard a voice speak as I push open the doors, which the owner must've forgotten to lock.

"We're not open." As soon as I take a first look around. Lillie was just turning around from her seat, that's back-faced the main entrance. If she's here talking, then this is definitely the place.

"Toldya I could find it." Mirai said proudly.

"What're you guys doing here?" Her voice sounded to unfazed...like she totally called it. This is no fun. I'd expect a shocked expression, at least.

All the other people, though, were wide-eyed when I stated: "so this is your Black Foxes' headquarters, eh?"

We remained silent as she explained from the beginning of how we knew to the other guys, whom I assumed were the other members of the Black Fox. I actually recognize one of them as Riki Yanase, government special. I was even at one of his father's business parties once. And he is exactly the person who reacted first after she finished the story: "You WHAT?!"

Wow he really freaked out.

Mirai: "Anyway...we're not gonna tell."

And I'm gonna make sure you don't. I made a mental note.

All the BF were cool people. We got along easily and quickly. When I turned to Ryoichi, however, he was just glaring daggers with the one named Takuto Hirukawa. I guess Ryoichi's snarky attitude tend to get on Takuto's nerves.

***

"Where are you headed to today?" She asked me just as she stuffed her notepad back in her purse. After my filming, we went for a quick drink. I suddenly started to remember something. I turned and stared into her eyes as her attention was somehow focused only on the smoothie. Why is she like this? Any, and I mean ANY girl on their right minds would've been giving me their undivided attention. But it's always totally the other way around when I'm with her.

I haven't thought about this before...but her pupils always looked a bit off. Like they were in different shades. It was like something covering the natural color of it.

"That isn't your natural eye color, is it?" I tensed a little as I asked. Doubts were flowing through my mind since I have no other evidence that she's the one. And the only clue ever was that she had different eyes, to begin with.

"...I just like hazel eyes." She brushed the question off with ease.

Much to my hesitation, I don't press further.

~~

That night, when I was just getting ready to hit the hay. My phone rang in a special tone. I set that ringtone for family members, so that I'll know it's them and I'll answer right away.

"Hello?" I picked it up after checking the caller. Just the person that was on my mind.

"Hey Yuzu! What's poppin'?"

He's not my blood-related sibling, but we sure do act like one. He's been searching for his lost sister for years, not even knowing if she's alive or not.

"The usual. Hey...what did you say your sister's name was again?"

"It's Lilith. What's wrong? Have you found her?" His voice was getting obviously desperate and hopeful. But no.

"No, sorry. I just need to freshen my memory."

After the call ended, I dial directly to Mirai: "It's me. I need a favor."

"Geez, not greetings or a 'please'. That is so like you, Yuzu."

"Can you look into Lillie's background?" I knew it wasn't exactly the right thing to do, but it's got to be done.

"Stalker much, Yuzu?" He joked, but I know he'll get down to business very soon.

"I'll see what I can find." His tone was serious by then as he hung up.
