XLVIII - Takuto

Takuto's POV

The others examine the piece of note Rabenda left Lillie over and over again while I try to track her phone. No... It seems like she didn't bring it.

She's dead set on not getting us involved this time. She even left the special designed jacket that has a tracker on it just in case any of us got into trouble.

Riki: "'The place where you didn't recognize me'? What does that even mean?"

Hiro: "I admit she's got a bit of a brain to do something like this instead of an actual address."

Kenshi: "If we don't know what this hints, it could literally be anywhere that they might've passed by each other."

We are currently outside in broad daylight, running around like flies that lost their heads.

Please! Someone! Just give me some sort of hint!

Kuin's POV

"What is it?" I ask with my head tilted at the blushing Takuto in front of me.

"I-I l-l-lo-love you...."

The corners of my lips tugged up until I saw his flushed face and averted gaze.

Wait... is he actually seri--

Have you ever woke up in a shriek? I have, multiple times now.

"Was that REALLY necessary?!" I yelled and hissed. My wrists and ankles are currently chained to two random posts that stood in the middle of a large, empty room with black and white tiles.

And a certain someone just stabbed something in where my kidney is supposed to be.

"You won't die just yet, I gave you an injection." Rabenda says, holding a needle in her hand, "It helps you heal much faster. I gave you enough dose for it to work on even a monster like you."

Alright, I admit some inside scenes injected some weird ass shiz into my bloodstream during my days in the underground battle field. Apparently they thought I was unusually strong for a little girl and decided to make me more of a killing machine.

She stepped over and pulled out the piece of wood out of me. She chose that piece instead of a knife because it'd leave spikes for me to suffer longer.

"You deserve to feel pain longer before you die!" She screamed in my face before walking away... simply walking away. I suppose she's getting her gadgets.

Everything else about her had fade away, now all that's left in her eyes is insanity and hatred. What did I ever do to her? She started everything -_-

The sound of blood dripping on the cold, tiled ground and my breathing are the only things heard in the hollow room. Is this her play room? It reeks of blood.

How sick she is....

You only live once, yet I've accomplished nothing in my life.

"Ouch...." I mumbled as the stab wound still hurt every time I breathe. Something like this would take weeks to heal, I wonder how fast it'd be now?

This suddenly feels familiar. Rabenda, and her sickening laughter, stabbing knives into me. Into my palm. I glanced at the scar across my left palm that I never quite understood how it got there. I have a lot of them, but I remember the history of every scar I have.

The long scratch at my back was from the friction as I scraped ten meters on the ground after an explosion; the one diagonally on my right shoulder blade was from close combat with someone no more than fifteen years old during the underground battle field; heck there's even a mark on my abdomen from when I fell three stories down and landed on a small pole.

But now, there's a scar on my palm and a stab wound on my left shoulder that I know nothing of. From what the guys told me, the only life-threatening danger I was in during the period of time I don't remember is Rabenda. Which means, those scars must've came from her.

In other words, this isn't my first time being tortured by her. I must owe her in my past life to endure this much, okay.

The nauseating sound of an old metal door cracking open echoed through the room. I did my best to flip my bird nest of a hair out of my face to look up.

I focused my eyes on Chiwa.

"Ohayo'gozaimasu." She says calmly before setting down a bucket beside me. I stare at her changed demeanor. The Chiwa in front of me right now is a totally different person from the office. Her eyes were hollow and she didn't dare make eye contact.

"By the way." She says, back facing me, "Nee-chan used the dose of drugs that could kill two alligators on you, and that only made you pass out. Haven't you ever wondered how much of a freak you are?"

"What's wrong with weird? At least it means I'm different from you."

I hummed in triumph as she exited without another word. As I mentioned before, I was immune to most drugs, unless with high doses. All I remember as a child is a needle with blue liquid contained in it, and then red liquid, and then a yellowish green liquid. And here I am now.

I later found out the yellowish green liquid keeps me immune from common drugs, it was just an unstable test, but it miraculously worked on me.

Which means I still have yet to discover the other two.

I blinked when Rabenda walked in, with a sword in hand. Damn.

"Don't you think your hair is too long and inconvenient?" She gets straight to the point and walks around behind me, "I mean, it's longer than your waist."

"I happen to have been growing that out my entire life, since..."

Since the liquids that're tested on me somehow slows down my hair growth.

"Let me help you with that." She says, and before I could do anything I felt something tap against my back, as if measuring before a strike.

Then, she sliced my flesh from my left shoulder to the middle of my rib cage on the right.

Diagonal hair might not be bad....

Takuto's POV

We searched everywhere. There were no clues anywhere.

Why didn't she tell us...! We could've went together eliminate Rabenda for good!

Hiro patted me on the shoulder to let me calm down.

Kenshi: "Hey, Riki, Takuto? You guys seem to know her before any of us, right?"

Riki and I exchanged a glance, he isn't going to ask about the past now, is he?

Kenshi only gave us an assured look that signals he isn't going to ask about the extras, "Anything at all that might hint us off?"

I thought for a moment.

Takuto: "There IS this one place..."

Kuin's POV

"We used to come here all the time." Rabenda says as she twirls around the room, "this used to be a small home-made planetarium, before all the kids around grew up and left."

She's saying random things to kill time while I heal.

An unbelievable amount of blood was already collected in buckets and pooled around my feet. My back was still burning from her sword across it. My entire body felt red hot of the aftermath of wounds.

A scene of me talking to the Black Foxes floated in my mind, as if I'd always knew it. Kenshi stood at the main entrance, blocking me from going out. I sat around the large round table I'd come to know so well and negotiated with Riki.

This must be how we first met.... The VERY first time, the time that I forgot about.

Huh... I guess pain triggers memories.

Another scene flashed to when I stuck a lollipop into Takuto's mouth. It looked like we were at a book store.

When was this...?

"There you go! You're all better!" Rabenda's voice snapped me out of it and pinched my cheek hard.

"I'm not your plaything." I scowled at her the best I can at my condition.

"Do you really think you have a choice right now?" She says, the look on her face switching instantly. Bipolar much.

My stomach rumbled despite my will and my knees felt weak. It's a miracle that I'm still managing to stand.

I felt her hand dig into my hair and grab hold onto my head. Oh I know where this is going.

The pain came before any logic as she bashed my skull against one of the poles. Warm blood trickled down the side of my face and added to the puddle at my feet.

My vision became hazy....

"Is that Hirukawa's girlfriend?! They look so cute!"

Right, there was a time where I went out a day with Takuto. At his work place, and then the book store.

He closed his eyes in anticipation, but I only stuck a lollipop into his mouth.

He waited up for a while so we can walk back together....

In a blink of an eye, the air of a hospital surrounded me. I couldn't open my eyes, no matter how hard I try. The only warmth I felt in the cold room was a hand gripping tightly onto mine.

"...I love you, Lillie."

That voice....

Takuto's POV

"Here." I stopped in front of my childhood planetarium. It looked run-down now, but at one point of its life, it was very popular among children.

And this is also the place where Rabenda first started stalking me.

"You do remember!" A voice shouted before I could do anything else. Rabenda stood at the entrance and pointed a finger at me, "See! You can't forget me!"

"Cuz you gave me nightmares for a month straight?" I shot back, "Where is Lillie?"

Rabenda's rabbit-like red eyes burned with rage at the mention of her name. "Why is that bitch the center of all of your attentions...? What does she have that I don't!?"

At this point, I charged up at her and swung my hand across her face. "She has everything, that you don't."

I ran past Rabenda and into the building, leaving the other guys to deal with her.

I nearly stopped breathing at the sight in front of me. Lillie's head hung as she was forced on her knees, the chains around her wrists kept her arms up. Her clothes were unimaginably torn and I think I just saw a knife sticking into her leg.

Not wasting another second, I ran up and snapped the chains off her wrists and ankles. Her beautiful long hair now a mess and--by the looks of it--cut, dried blood soaked the ends of it a dark red.

I lifted her up. She felt so light... this isn't good.

When I got out, Rabenda was unconscious and tied, while everyone else's eyes widen.

Riki: "oh my god...."

Hiro: "We can never get away with this if we go to a normal hospital."

"Through hacking, I know a lot of underground doctors." I say quickly, "let's get moving."
