Branch goes and meets with Peppy and they clear the air and where they stand.

While Branch was driving, he was listening to music and wondered how things will go with Peppy. To say he wasn't nervous was stretching it.

He was thinking back to when he was going to meet Poppy that day but ran into Peppy.

Flashback...

Branch had just finished working his job at the Pizza Parlor and grabbed his bag as he was about to meet Poppy.

One of his friends Aspen was just about to start work.

''Where you off to?'' Asked Aspen.

''To see my girlfriend and ask her for a date on Saturday I got something big to tell her.'' He said happily.

''Wait? I thought you guys broke up?'' Aspen said surprised.

''Huh? No why?'' Asked Branch looking at him.

''Well didn't you hear? Creek proposed and Poppy said yes.'' Aspen said.

Branch laughed. ''Good one.''

''I'm serious Branch, he proposed last night. Peppy came in all excited that they were getting married.'' Aspen said.

Branch left and ran to where Peppy and Poppy lived on his way he ran into Peppy.

''Ah, Branch.'' Peppy said polietly.

''Hey Peppy, I need to talk to Poppy.'' He said about to walk past.

Peppy grabbed his arm. ''Branch, I don't think that's a good idea.''

''Look I just want to get why she is getting married.... I mean last I knew me and her were still dating.'' Branch said.

''Yes, well her and Creek have been pretty close, and he asked me if he could marry Poppy and I said yes.'' Peppy said shrugging.

''What? But you know that me and Poppy are dating? I need to talk to Poppy.'' He said.

''No, Branch seeing you is only going to upset her.'' Peppy said.

Branch looked behind Peppy and saw Creek and Poppy as Creek hugged her and pushed her inside, but she seemed to struggle a bit.

''See. She happy please don't ruin that.'' Peppy said.

''Why? What does Creek have I don't?'' Asked Branch.

''Creek just started this amazing yoga studio and he's gonna be making a lot of money enough that Poppy can live very comfortably, you're a good kid Branch, but you don't have a stable job or a good future, I want Poppy to have the best.'' Peppy said.

''I will get a better job.'' Branch said.

''Just leave Poppy alone her and Creek are going to move away after the wedding.'' Peppy said.

Branch nodded and walked away trying not to cry. That evening he was waiting under the tree for Poppy, hoping she would come to see him but she didn't. He then wrote a note he left and went to see his grandma and they packed up and before leaving Branch went to the tree to see if Poppy was there but wasn't and it was only his letter that was there.

''Goodbye Poppy.'' He said as he left.

Flashback over....

Branch sighed and shook his head. He should have snuck in and went to Poppy, but he wasn't going to let Peppy get him this time.

Branch finally made it to the small town and drove slowly as old memories came back and he saw the park and the tree where him and Poppy always met. A smile came to his face, he loved the town because it was where he fell in love with his true love.

Branch drove to the outside of the town to a small farm, it looked like it got a bit smaller, and he saw Peppy's car in the drive as he parked a bit behind Peppy's and turned off the car as he sat there looking out the window and at the invite in his hand.

He had to catch his breath; he was trying so hard not to be angry at Peppy for what he did. ''This is for Poppy.'' He told himself as he got out and went up to the door and rang the bell.

''I'm coming, about time you showed up Tim.'' Peppy's voice said as he went to the door and opened it and his eyes widened when he saw who it was.

Branch stood there with an unreadable face he was a mess on the inside but kept a calm posture. ''Hello Peppy.''

''Oh, it's you Branch, what do I owe this visit?'' Asked Peppy with a business-like voice keeping a frown on his face.

''Can I come in?'' Asked Branch.

Peppy looked at him and sighed. ''Sure.'' He let Branch in.

''What did you come here for?'' Asked Peppy stepping back.

''I came here to personally deliver this wedding invite to mine and Poppy's wedding.'' Branch said holding out the card.

Peppy took it looking at it and frowned as he walked into the house and tossed the invitation on the table as they walked to the living room.

Branch looked around at all the pictures, he saw pictures of Peppy and Poppy when she was younger, a picture of Peppy and his wife, along with Poppy having a sleepover with him and the rest of their friends. He also saw a picture of Poppy and Creek for their wedding and looking at it Branch could tell even though Poppy was smiling it was her fake smile.

''Came a long way to drop off an invitation when you could have mailed it.'' Peppy said coming in with two cups of tea.

He gave one to Branch who looked at it and set it down. ''Well, I needed to get away from the city a bit and because I think we need to talk.'' Branch said.

Peppy looked at him sitting in his rocking chair. ''Oh? And what is there to talk about? I get it your low on money and you came here to somehow try to convince me you need money for the wedding.'' Peppy said with an annoying smirk on his face.

Branch balled his hands into a fist and looked at Peppy with a strained smile. ''No, I didn't come here for that, I'm actually doing very well, I got made Top Boss of all of Star Worth banks in the country.'' Branch said.

Peppy looked at him. ''Good for you, so what did you come here for? To see if I was still alive?'' Snarked Peppy.

''Look I came here to talk about you and me, to get whatever issue you have with me resolved. Poppy misses you, she does but she doesn't want to talk to you or about you.'' Branch replied sitting forward.

''And who is to blame for that?'' Snapped Peppy sitting back.

''You and Creek at first. Forcing her to marry Creek and living with an abuser... put a big strain on yours and her relationship and the fact you believed Creek over her... but when she found out you turned me away and took the letter, she wrote for pushed her farther away from you... but the last part that broke your relationship was my fault, because the last time she came to visit you, you didn't like the idea of me and her together if something were to happen between her and Creek. That broke everything you two had.'' Branch said.

Peppy glared squeezing the cup in his hands. ''Is that so?''

''Yes, it is! So, tell me, why do you hate me so much? You'd do anything to keep me and Poppy from being together. You used to like me so WHY?!'' Branch demanded shouting.

''BECAUSE OF WHAT YOUR GRANDPARENTS DID! I WAS TAKING OUT MY ANGER FOR ROSIEPUFF AND YOUR DAD ON YOU!'' Peppy shouted as he stood up.

''My grandma and dad... they have nothing to do with me and Poppy.'' Branch said confused and taken aback.

Back in the day me and Rosiepuff we were a couple... we were the cutest couple like you and Poppy were and we did everything together.

I thought we were meant to be, we were always together, and we did love each other... then your grandpa showed up and she started falling for him and we broke up I was sad and heartbroken until I met my Joy... but I was never truly over your grandma... then years later she had your dad and I watched him grow up and date a local girl but left her for your mom... hurting that poor girl so when you and Poppy started dating... It was cute but I didn't want Poppy to get hurt by you since your grandma and dad did the same thing... besides you were taking care of Rosiepuff and didn't have a lot of money and I wanted my daughter with someone who could make her live comfortable... and Creek was a nice lad, and he had a crush on Poppy.'' Peppy said as he looked up with a sadness in his eyes.

''Look I'm not my grandma or my dad. I genuinely love Poppy; I loved her back then and I was even going to propose to her...'' Branch said sighing.

''No, your worse then your family, you only go for girls who are taken or married.'' Peppy snapped.

Branch gulped. ''Look! I had no intention of ever seeing Poppy again but fate or whatever didn't see it that way... and if a couple is apart and comes back still feeling those feelings all those years its worth something. I wasn't planning on dating Poppy, but she was miserable with Creek he was never home, and he physically and emotionally abused her, and he cheated on her. Surely you heard the news.'' Branch said.

''Yes, but Creek called me up saying he had a feeling Poppy was having an affair and turns out he was right, and he got her back by sleeping with a girl.'' Peppy said.

''You're not condoning his actions, are you? He was sleeping around before me, and Poppy even met up again! He pushed Poppy away and into my arms and I wasn't and I'm not going to let go of Poppy. I love her and I came here to make peace between us!'' Branch protested not believing Peppy.

''Oh? And what about that little hot troll you got as your new partner I heard you two were a thing back in the day.'' Peppy said smirking avoiding Branch's question.

''You know what you are Peppy? Your nothing but a jealous, spiteful, prideful troll whose ego gets in the way because something isn't going your way.'' Branch shouted and stopped.

Branch froze, how did Peppy know about her. ''Yes, when I moved away nothing serious, see I tried to move on as well isn't that what you wanted?'' Asked Branch.

''Yes, but you should have stayed there.'' Peppy snapped.

''I will never hurt Poppy in anyway, I spend my life making her laugh, smile, and make her feel loved... I hope you show up for the wedding, show her you at least still love her.'' Branch said standing up.

''You're a good man Branch but you are not right for Poppy, and if you were gonna ask for my blessing you wouldn't get it.'' He said as Branch walked out the door and it closed.

Branch sighed getting in his car and slammed his fist on the steering wheel and placed his head down crying. He wanted to make amends with Peppy not fuel the anger between them.

He looked up and started driving but stopped when he got to the park and got out going over to the tree.

He placed his head on the trunk and thought back to all the memories of him and Poppy and every single one of them was a beautiful, wonderful thought not a bad moment between them and the smile she gave him as he smiled back and her laugh.

Flashback...

''I love you forever Branch.'' She said as they shared a kiss under the tree during a rainy night.

Flashback over....

Branch smiles and knew he made the right choice of being with Poppy, he got into his car and took off back home.
