1. Grunt Carol
"Stacy's mom has got it goin' on, she's all that I want and I've waited for so long! Stacy can't you see you're just not the girl for me! I know it might be wrong but I'm in love with Stacy's mom!"
"Ma'am," I jumped, taking out my ear buds before seeing the flight attendant, "You have a very lovely voice but Stacy's mom just isn't interested."
I blushed, laughing lightly, "Sorry for singing out loud."
She smiled lightly at me, "It's okay but let's try not to let it happen again."
I nodded, slipping only one of my ear buds in as she walked away. I sinked down in my seat, trying to hide from the stares. I didn't even want to be here, but of course mommy and daddy dearest couldn't have a screw up like me ruining their oh so perfect reputation that they spent years building. Oh no, that would just be utterly horrible! Yeah I know I'm choking on my own sarcasm here but it's really all I have. They'll lie saying I was having the honered opportunity to be shipped off to some rich boarding school, use their money to cover up their tracks while in reality, I'm on my way to live with my psycho great aunt. I don't even know who she is, I've only heard stories about her from my older brother. Those stories weren't about a happily ever after, unless you consider a happy ending with the witch slowly and painfully killing the princess and torturing the prince for all eternity! And here I was stuck with her, in the tiniest town ever to exist, until my so called parents deemed me worthy of their presences.
"Kid, we're landing."
I looked next to the seat next to me, seeing some guy in his fifties, "Huh?" I asked, pausing my phone and pulling out my single ear bud.
"We're landing, you might want to put your seat belt on." He repeated, nodding his head towards the seat belt sign that was flashing on the ceiling.
"Oh, thanks." I replied, connecting my seat belt as he nodded with a flat smile and looked away.
The plane shook as we came closer to the ground, I popped a piece of gum in my mouth, waiting for my ears to pop. When we landed and exited the plane, I pulled up the photo that my dad had one of his secretaries send me, because he was way too busy to send me a five second text message. It was a picture of the witc- my great aunt, man I hope I don't make that slip up when I talk to her, she might kill me!
I took a deep breath, making a mental note before looking around for her. It was about half an hour before I found her, I already had my bags from the bag carrier. She was "rocking" a ladies embroidery work shirt, pencil skirt, and pointed toe high heels, her whole outfit, the same color, burgundy. Her hair was blonde like my mothers except it was pulled back into an extremely, pain fully tight bun. Her lips were red like blood while the rest of her was completely pale. It was just terrifying.
"Hey, Grunt Carol?"
"You must be Judy. I must say, what kind of young lady makes up such horrid words such as Grunt?" A smile never touched her lips and her voice was cold.
"Uh, no, my name's now Ariel, been that way since I was four years old and for the word Grunt, it's a mix of great and aunt, cool huh, I made it up myself. Well not totally on my own, I got it from a cartoon-"
"I am completely aware of the situation with your name, your birth name is Judy their for I will call you by Judy. As for Grunt, I never want to hear it again, you will not call me Carol because it's not my name, my name is Caroline, I don't want a slip up. A young lady is what you are and while you are here, you will act like one, I promised your parents and I never go back on my promises." She snapped, watching me like I was her prey with her hawk eyes.
Of course I was stubborn and arrogant, if I wasn't, I wouldn't be here, "My name was legally changed, the name Ariel is on my birth certificate." I sassed, my glare stuck onto my face with super glue.
Her features never changed, not even an inch, "No your name was legally changed to Arielle, which was a horrible decision, why they would let some ignorant four year old choose her own name is beyond me. I will continue to call you Judy, which is a much more sensible name for a lady, and this will not be brought up again." She glared at me daring me to speak against her words before turning around and walking away, "Now we must get a move on, it's a five hour drive back and I have the car running." I glared daggers into her back, grinding my teeth but followed behind her anyways.
The drive was horrible, of course she had her own driver, people like her couldn't handle that pain of driving their own cars. The whole ride was tense, silent and most of all, awkward, I should've pulled a Home Alone 2 stunt and got on the wrong plane. When we arrived, it was the only house that was big enough to host two football games at the same time. It had an iron fence, keeping everyone out and how much you wanna bet Caroline has guard dogs roaming her estate?
We pulled up to her mansion, maybe I'll get lost and never have to face her, ever again. Of course that was just me being hopeful, sweet dreams like that don't happen everyday.
"I will show you to your room while Gregory will bring up your bags." Caroline, said as she stepped out of the already open door of the car. I slid out, following her.
She led me inside, through corridor's and a staircase that seemed to last forever. "This is your bedroom, for the time being, be down stairs at six sharp, already showered and dressed for dinner. Being late isn't an option." With that said she disappeared leaving me to myself, finally.
The first thing I did was call my brother, it only rang once before someone picked up, "Hello?"
"Brian! Hey, is Jaiden there?"
"Yeah, give me a sec. Jaiden! Babe! Ariel is on the phone!" I heard him yell, before running then a kissing sound before he answered, "Ari, you okay?"
I laugh slightly to myself, "I'm fine, Jaiden but you were right about her being a major bitch."
"She already told you the rules?"
"Rules?! What rules?!"
"I'm guessing it's off to a bad start, yeah she has these crazy rules and punishment's and she will set you up with dates at the mansion, while she's in the same room. God, I hated it so much."
"She isn't going to do that with me, is she?"
"Sorry Ari, but that's the whole point, she gets you a boyfriend and turns you into a lady and you're sin free."
I cringed, "Eww, boys!"
"Hey!" I heard Brian yell from the other end making me laugh.
"You know what I mean!"
Jaiden just laughed before speaking again, "Don't be late to dinner, she doesn't give free bees, and when she says get ready don't wear pajama's."
"Hell, she sounds like a nightmare, wish me luck."
"Good luck!" Brian yelled again before I heard a light smack and a yelp, "Ow, my butt is still sore because of you!" Brian cried.
"Um guys, I don't really want to hear about your sex life."
"More like sexy life! Ow, quit attacking my poor butt!" Brian cried again before I heard someone walk away, most likely him.
I laughed, "What have you been doing to my Brian?! Actually no don't tell me, keep your dirty stuff to yourself!"
"Bye Ariel." Jaiden groaned, obviously wanting to chase after Brian.
I sighed, "Fine, bye Jaiden, but leave my Brian alone."
"My Brian." Jaiden growled before hanging up on me, what a sweetheart.
