Later I walked past the Nurse's office on my way to B3, French. Madame Arist hated it when we were late, we always had to explain it in French, which I cannot do. I went against my better judgement and stopped on in the Nurse's office. Kyle was still in there, still sleeping. I walked over to the nurse and asked how Kyle had been doing.
"He's been asleep since the second he put his head to the pillow." She told me, then inquired. "Why are you here? Do you have a headache too?"
"No, no. I'm his friend, and I just wanted to check up on him." I told her. "Has anyone else been by?"
"No, no ones been in, but a girl did liger at the door for a little while, why are you asking son?" She said.
"Just curious." The girl was obviously Lucy.
"Okay, I would go before you wake him up." The nurse advised.
"I will in just a few minutes." I informed her. I walked right next to Kyle's bed. His hand shot out, grabbing my leg tightly. He was awake in a heartbeat.
"What do you want?" He asked angrily. "Hmm?"
"Kyle, relax, it's me, Kevin." I told in gently. "I just wanted to check up on you, make sure you're okay." Kyle was clearly not okay.
"Oh, sorry Kevin, I...I didn't know it was you." He said apologetically, letting go of my jeans. "Thank you for checking up on me, I'm doing good. How about yourself?"
"I'm doing fine." I said. "Is everything okay, you weren't here Friday."
"Yeah, yeah, everything's fine." He responded hastily.
"Ya know man, you can let your guard down with me, we've known each other since elementary school." I told him, trying to let him know, he doesn't need to be scared and hide anything from me.
"Yeah, thanks man." He said, definitely more at ease.
"Okay, well if you need anything, you always know where to find me." I told him with a little smile as I started to walk out of the nurse's office.
"Hey Kevin, text me sometime, I miss our four hour long conversations on who is the better Avenger, I'm still sticking with Thor." He said with a slight laugh, think about the good old days.
"Okay, and I'm still going with Cap." We laughed, and then I sprinted to French.
"Pourquoi tu es tard?" Madame Arist questioned me.
"Je suis desole Madame, je suis malade." I replied as quickly as I could while making my way to my seat. I was happy I found a seat next to "Lucas" or Max outside of French class, he's a really chill guy. He may talk about philosophy quite a bit, but it gets your mind rolling, and I like that. It's good to have an opposing side, so that you can see how strong yours holds true.
