CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

...
Moonlight showered down on everywhere. Dry leaves scattered here and there. What should be needed more to make anything look like so isolated?
When the dead silence was continued with consistency for what like forever, a faint sound of pace appeared. The nearer it was, the louder and fast it got. He was running for how long he didn't know. Sweat was beading on his forehead, dropping down and making his vision blurry. He let his feet drag him when he didn't know where to go unless he got a glimpse of a shadowy figure a little far from him.
He halted and stared at the blurry figure.

"Hoseok, my son."

Letting out a thin sound, the figure made Hoseok shrug on his place.

"Eomma!"

His voice got hoarse while gulping thickly. He tried to speak but nothing came afterwards, so he tried to go near her. But he couldn't be able to catch her. His every step made the distance further than earlier. He made his pace fast to catch her, yet it took him from her further away.
He uttered again,

"Eomma! Don't go."

Teardrop formed in the corner of his eye when he caught another thin and faint voice of her.

"Hoseok, Save her."

Hobi got a bit puzzled when the figure of his mom disappeared and found Yu Na lying on the earth senseless.

"Yu Na!!!"

He came closer to her and took her in his lap.

"Yu Na! I'm here. Look at me, Yu Na!" his appearance got so terrified.

"You can't save her, Hoseok." Another rough sound cracked the silence followed by sinister laughter.

"WHO ARE YOU? SHOW ME YOURSELF. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER?"
Hobi yelled loud. Nothing but a small chuckle could be heard.

"You can't do anything, Hoseok. You just can't."
A scoffing sound appeared followed by another sinister laughter making Hoseok filled with rage.

He glanced back at Yu Na, "Yu Na-ah, I'm here, I'll save you... Promise. You're mine."

A droplet of tears formed in his eyes when he hugged her back. Eventually, Darkness fully adopted him and everything became silent once again.

Hobi shot opened his eyelids roaming his glance everywhere. A few minutes needed to be realized about his whereabouts when he reminded his night over at Yu Na's place. And assuming Yu Na beside him he slowly turned his head by the side to check but found nobody. His eyes got bulged up as the nightmare hit him and made the fear piling up into him.
He stood up almost tripping on his own feet and checked everywhere in that home. Fear raising up, making him gulped.

You can't do anything, Hoseok. You just can't.
Those words kept ringing into his mind while he got a cracking sound of the front door. He rushed to see and found Yu Na entering with bags in both hands.

"Aw, Crybaby. Very Good morning." Yu Na greeted him with a smile but got no feedback as she scanned his tensed face, "Hey, Hoseok!" she uttered, "what happened? Are you feeling okay?" She got worried.

She was about to utter something more but found herself in his lap. His sudden hug made her puzzled. Yet she didn't ask anything to him. Just proceed with the action.

"Nightmare caught you?" Yu Na whispered patting his back when her shoulder felt him nodding slow.

"It's okay, I'm here now. Don't be sullen." Yu Na comforted him since she knew how much a nightmare can ruin someone's mood when she did have experienced nightmares almost every night.

"Have a fresh wash up. I'm putting breakfast on the table." Yu Na put a smile as Hobi just simply gave a nod.

Minutes later, Hoseok steered himself into the kitchen ever since the essence of food hit his empty tummy. Yu Na gave a smile while putting down the plates on the table.

"Wah, I can't believe Ms Monkey even can do the cooking," said he while settled himself on the chair.

"Yah, What do you think of me? A real monkey?!" the said girl made her eyeballs smaller indicating her anger which caused Hoseok giggled right away.

Yu Na served him first and Hobi started to eat as if he had been starved for so long, "Yu Na! Daebak! Too good." he complimented while his taste buds got hit with the potato noodles.

"Credit goes to Jin oppa." Yu Na chuckled pulling a proud smile.

"Wah, I didn't know he is so good at cooking. All I can remind he always ended up burning down the kitchen." Hoseok giggled again recalling the memory.

"Huh, he's the best." Yu Na protested while eating and Hobi kept smiling.
"Ow, speaking of Jin, he's on his way to home." Yu Na mumbled in the midst of her chewing.

"Has he called?" Hoseok asked while Yu Na gave a nod as an answer.

Silently, they ate their breakfast until Hobi uttered out of blue, "Have you ever involved in any affairs?"

"What affairs?" Yu Na asked not giving more concern than swallowing the food.

"You know, people these days have or I should say-" Hobi hesitated.

"I'm not getting any of your words. Say it clearly." Yu Na raised a brow of her to pull a questionable look while gulping the liquid.

"Do you have any boyfriend?" Hobi stated in a sentence keeping his breath inside since he felt a bit strange asking such question.

Yu Na bulged up her eyes keeping her mouth puffed with water, hearing the question. Then she just chuckled which was followed by a burst of laughter. And that made Hoseok puzzle, "Hey, why are you laughing like a dork?"

"Lemme just ask you what made you think of this?" said Yu Na, laughing on top of her lungs. Hobi just threw a poker face.

"Okay, hold." Yu Na stopped laughing and continued, "Is that me having boys as my best friends making you think like this?" she asked holding her chuckle.

"Not gonna deny. I mean, yeah, always you're being around with them rather than any girls," Hoseok replied.

"I do have girls as my friends but Sleep lover, Mr Confusion and Chubby cherry are my-"

"Kindly specify their name." Hobi requested puffing his face.

"Okay, I'm sorry. It should be Yoongi, Taehyung and Jimin, " Yu Na chuckled before resuming again, "They are my best friends. No matter what happened or what I am, they never leave me, even judge me. And yeah, not to mention Jin cause he's a brother to me more than a neighbour."

"Oh, I see," Hoseok replied shortly.

"And why did you ask me this?" Yu Na asked back to him which caught Hoseok off-guard.

"Actually I was thinking about.." Hoseok stuttered.

"About what?"

"Whether you have any feelings or something toward anyone. you know...what I'm saying is-" Hoseok stuttered again.

Yu Na put her utensil down slowly as her brain processed out the meaning of those words. Leaning back, she slowly took a sip while uttering, "I got your words, Hoseok." she exhaled a little, " Know what, I never felt anything for anyone so far actually, until I..." Yu Na trailed off ever since her eyes met the intense stare of him toward her.

"Until what?" Hoseok asked back softly. His stare had the intensity that was foreign to her.

"I... Umm..." Yu Na promptly had the urge of diverting the subject, meanwhile, her spine felt the chill run down, "Yah, why are you being so kinky? Huh." she sensed her cheeks getting blushed.

"Cause..." Hoseok leaned near Yu Na managing an inch as a gap between them, "I need to make a documentary over Monkey's romance life." Hoseok threw a smirk.

"WHAT?!" Yu Na blurted with a puzzled face. Her eyes were getting smaller and cheeks redded than earlier.

"Yeah, you know, wildlife fact." Hoseok teased her letting out a clicking sound.

"YOU!! Hold.Right.There." and the Tom and Jerry chasing began. Nobody even paid concern on the sound of unlocking of the front door revealing tired Jin entering in the house. Having them in the chasing state, he just chuckled, "These weirdos are never gonna be changed."

"Hyung!! " Hoseok shrieked, "Help me hide behind your broad shoulder."

"Oh, you don't, crybaby. I'm gonna catch you and punish you that hard and-" Yu Na continued chasing him.

"Only if you catch me, my dear monkey." Hoseok laughed while panting.

"Guys, can I have my breakfast? I'm hungry." Jin faked a whimper, making Yu Na stopped on her track.

"Okay, Hoseok. I'm letting you go this time," Yu Na panted.

"Huh, who cares." Hoseok teased earning a death glare from the said girl.

Finishing the meal, Jin and Hobi stood up to assist her as she was in hurry for her part-time job.

"So, where will you go after that?" Jin asked Yu Na as if they had been siblings.

"To the club." Yu Na replied.

"Club? But aren't you, I mean, you left that club. That's what I know." Jin replied from his puzzlement.

"Yeah, but Hoseok helped me." Yu Na turned to Hobi pulling a smile of gratitude on her face.

"Really! Since when does he become so brave!" Jin scoffed and Yu Na giggled.

"Yah! Hyung. You too." Hoseok shrieked again.

"Okay, okay. I'm admitting. You're a brave crybaby." Jin teased his brother again.

"What! Not that again." Hoseok groaned faking a cry while Jin and Yu Na laughed.

"Hoseok-ah, " Yu Na turned to Hobi again once she stepped out from the house, "We'll be going together. Wait for me until I'm back."

"Okay, little monkey, don't make me wait." Hoseok gave her a soft smile as they parted their way.

Morning Breeze kissed his skin making him shrugged with the sudden coolness. Sitting on a white bench of a nearby park, he looked up at the sunny sky and plastered a soft smile. Unlike always, the park sounded a little quiet, though that didn't bother him. So many things happened in the past few days. Hoseok let his mind wander freely as he wanted to be relaxed. Jin wanted to join as Hobi requested but he was too tired.

He gave a blank stare at the sky for how long he hadn't noticed, his mind was occupied with a random thought. All he could think was Yu Na, the girl who could change any hard time with her genuine smile and also someone for whom his heart beat faster whenever her face came before him.
He let out a soft smile probably thinking about her but slowly faded when something more blazed before his mind. The nightmare he experienced, made him scared. It was just a bad dream but he felt the urge to keep her safe. Sighing, he stood up and bothered himself to wander around.

"Hyung!!" a familiar shriek made his patch slow to check.

"Awh, Jiminie there." Hobi parted his lips with a smile.

"What are you doing here alone?" Jimin ran toward him panting as if he joined a marathon.

"Roaming, nothing else. And what's about you? Where is Taehyung?" Hobi replied.

"Ah, he is just coming. You know, he's a sloth anyway." Jimin bit his tongue.

"Huh, says who is slower than me." Taehyung meanwhile popped up clutching bags, "yah! How come you forget your school bag?"

"And why are you walking like a zombie." Jimin burst out a laugh, meanwhile, Taehyung pouted his lips, "You should thank me, huh."

"Really, then who forgot his homework and asked me for help, hmm?" Jimin scoffed.

"And all your answers came out to be wrong." Taehyung blurted.

"At least I did." Jimin rolled his eyes.

"Wait a sec, guys. You two ran away from school? Just because of homework!" Hoseok's bulged up eyes made them stop on their usual arguing and gave a sheepish smile, "Ah, hyung. Actually, we umm..." they fiddled their fingers staring down.

"Very bad, you guys shouldn't do this." Hoseok chided as if he had been the only guardian of these little brats.

"At least, I have to do, hyung." Jimin wiggled his eyelids like a puppy.

"And may I know the reason." Hoseok, even though was melting inside by his puppy eyes, faked to be tough raising his brows.

"He was punished in the club for doing wrong choreography n need to present there as soon as possible." Taehyung's mumbled tone made Jiminie turn to him, "YAH! PUT AWAY YOUR MOUTH FROM MY PRECIOUS CHOCOLATES." Jimin wailed.

"Yours is mine and mine is mine. Waah, so yummy." Taehyung muffled pulling out more chocolates from his bag.

"No! Hey! That was for Jungkookie. You eat his one too!" Jiminie yelled again making Tae stop on his munching.

"Nevermind, give him carrots. He'll be super happy." Tae shoved his choco along with Jungkook's.

"B-but I bought these for everyone," Jimin whined and Taehyung just chuckled.

"Guys?!" Hoseok's sudden utter had them realized of his existence.

"Ah! Hobi hyung, here's yours." Taehyung extended a handful of chocolates plastering a boxy smile.

"Thank you but I'm full. Give those to Jiminie." Hoseok replied with a soft smile while Jimin nodded like the older.
Taehyung turned his head to Jimin smirking as if he had been planning something evil. Before Jimin realized his move, Taehyung began to run with the remaining chocolates, "HEY! GIVE BACK MY CHOCOLATES..." Jimin squealed running behind Taehyung.

"Only when you can catch, my dear small buddy," Taehyung yelled back.

"Huh, these naughties, hey! Wait! Don't chase on road." Hobi spoke out to them.

"Don't try to stop them. It won't work." a sudden familiar tone made him turn.

"Yu Na!!!" Hoseok surprised seeing the said girl.

"Yeah, why? Didn't expect me?" Yu Na curved her face with a smile.

"Not that actually but isn't it too early?" Hoseok replied.

"Yeah, It is. Guess what, I've got a day off so decided to join you."

"But how did you know I'm here?"

"Jin Oppa told me, " Yu Na rolled her eyes and rotated herself toward her buddies, "Yah, how long will you do this? Let's go or else we'll be late." Four of them advanced toward the club.

"So, from where should we start first?" Taehyung asked confusingly.

"From stage room, where else." Yu Na replied and Jimin chuckled. To carry out the tasks after being punished, they always chose to clean the rooms.

Jimin, Yu Na and Tae got their cleaning equipment while Hoseok was looking for the stuff.
"Hyung, what are you doing?" Jimin asked his worried elder.

"There's a lack of this stuff," Hoseok replied.

"Don't worry. Find yours in the greenhouse room. There are plenty of these." Jimin informed him giving an eye smile.

"Aw, thank you, dongsaeng." Hoseok rushed to the said room.

"Hey, where he goes?" Yu Na asked Jimin eyeing at the direction of Hobi's departure.

"To the greenhouse room, why?" Jimin asked back.

"What!?" Yu Na spoke out having her buddies glance at him.

"Yah, why are you yelling? He went to grab the stuff-." before Jimin could explain further Yu Na interrupted, "Did you forget Eun Ji? She spends most of her time there, remember?" Yu Na ruffled her hair frustrating.

"Aish, I'm sorry." Jimin bowed his head while Taehyung uttered, "It's okay, Jiminie. Yu Na-ah, you should go there right now."

Nodding, Yu Na walked toward the direction of the room.

And the door led him to a dusty and messy room proofing wrong of the given name. No wonder, it was a huge one than the others demonstrating once being a room of plants and flowers as the broken tubs and pots here and there were the traces.
He forwarded to find the said gadgetry. But back of his mind wanted to explore this messy place. He let his feet drag himself slowly around until a scribbling sound made him halt on his track.

He followed the sound as it was getting clearer than earlier. From his utmost surprise, he found himself standing behind the arrogant girl who was the reason Yu Na got bullied before. His eyes trailed on her hand frowning, as he found her doing paintings on canvas. His glance fixed on her artwork concept as he found it sorta familiar. A mansion adorned for the party, a lady and a little girl that was what Hoseok could figure out.
As if luck wasn't on his side, a sound of falling caused him to let out a startled sound. The girl flinched too as turned to check. Their gaze met.

"I-I am sorry. I came here to take the-" Hoseok tried to convince the situation not creating any scene but interrupted, "Hoseok-ah!"

Yu Na kinda burst through there as she found out two figures in front of her, "Eun Ji-ssi, sorry we interrupted in your privacy. We really didn't mean to. Actually-"

"Will you guys like me to help you?" Eun Ji uttered out of blue making both of them puffed up their eyes.
Her tone was calm but deep and her appearance was filled with what seemed like nothingness. Arrogance wasn't there when she looked up at them.

"Mianhee, Eun Ji. We know you're offended but-"

"Unnie, Oppa. Let me help you." Eun Ji pulled a small smile not letting Yu Na the chance to say further and lifted herself to help them. While Hoseok and Yu Na became so dumbfounded. Why not, when an arrogant girl has another side of this, who knows, what more she concealed behind that arrogant face.
