Pain

The next morning Diego woke up from a dream with his mate. It hurted him she is not with him anymore.

Diego spoke, "I wish you were here."

Diego went out hunting early in the morning. Diego returned back home seeing Lucy still asleep.

Diego smile that Lucy is still with him. After an half hour, Lucy woke up. Lucy saw the prey in front of her as Diego was resting thinking about his mate.

Lucy decided to eat her breakfast. After eating Lucy went to her father to ask him a question.

Lucy spoke, "Daddy can I go find Kevin."

That startled Diego and calmed himself and responded, "Sure but come back. I don't want anything happens to my daughter."

Lucy spoke happily, "Thank you daddy."

Lucy hugs her dad and leaves to find her crush. Diego would only sigh, he couldn't stop thinking about his mate.

After a few hours Diego decided to go out for a walk but kept track of his daughter scent.

As he was walking with his down and he bumped into a saber.

The saber spoke angrily, "What are you thinking?! Can't you see I have kids?!"

That voice sounded familiar to him. Diego raised his head and saw Shira but didn't recognize her.

Diego spoke, "I'm sorry."

Shira spoke, "Diego?"

Diego was looking at Shira in confusion that she knows his name. Shira was surprised to see Diego changed. He became large and tough.

Shira spoke laughing, "You missed me? Trying to get me back? Too bad I already have family unlike you."

Diego saw Shira's cubs that were underneath her. Diego was really confused about him and her.

Diego asked, "Sorry, who are you?"

Shira was shocked that Diego didn't recognize her. Diego did remember he had ex mate but don't know who.

Shira spoke, "Is me Shira your ex," grinning.

That when Diego snapped, he was in front of his ex. Diego remembered how she cheated on him. Diego had moved on now troubled by his mate's death.

Diego spoke, "Oh is you. I see what about Sean?"

Shira chuckled and spoke, "Sean and I are happy together with our kids."

Diego stared at cubs looking at their traits. It had Shira traits but not Sean.

Diego spoke, "Well it doesn't look like Sean's kids to be honest. None of them have Sean traits."

Shira spoke angrily, "Don't even talk about Sean's kids! He will kill you!"

Diego spoke, "Are you trying to hide the fact that they are not Sean's kids that you went out to look for another saber that matches your perspectives. That Sean couldn't give you kids."

Shira was speechless like Diego knew the truth.

Shira spoke, "I see you don't have a family."

Diego responded, "Yeah I do. Is my daughter."

Shira was shocked that Diego was able to have a family.

Diego continued speaking, "After I left I met my mate. She was different from you. She showed me what being in love really is. She loved me who I am. She encouraged me, she showed me unconditional affection. I was intoxicated by her. We never had a argument the time we spent together which I cherish the most."

Shira spoke mockingly, "So where is this mate of yours?"

Diego responded with a bit sad tone, "She died for us from a avalanche."

Shira spoke laughing, "And you couldn't save her."

Diego gritted his teeth and spoke angrily, "Don't say about my mate! I rather die for her than being with you!"

Shira backs down seeing Diego truly love her. She is now notice how much she hurt Diego.

Shira spoke, "Diego I..."

Diego spoke interrupting her, "No need to. You know I loved you too deeply thinking we were meant for each other that you decided to cheat on me with Sean. But no you decided to ruin my life that I would hate you. Thankfully my mate save me from insanity. I regret so much that I wish that I never met you. You thought I came back for you which you are completely wrong. I only came back for my daughter so she can live peacefully. If not I would never returned."

Shira's cubs were listening the whole thing that Shira even forgot that her cubs were with her. The cubs now know the truth about Shira's past. That their mother is worst that the cubs were angry that their mother. They felt bad for Diego like they knew his pain.

One of the cubs spoke, "Mommy is it true?"

Shira realized that they were listening and responded, "Well is true now is different that used to be in the past."

Diego spoke, "Now I have to find my daughter. Nice seeing you Shira."

Diego left Shira not wanting to remember about her. Diego found his daughter playing with Kevin tackle. He noticed that Kevin was being gentle with her.

Diego call out, "Lucy is time to go home."

Lucy looked at her father and spoke, "Okay daddy coming."

Lucy gave a hug to Kevin before she left smiling.
