In a time before, She was a natural haven for diverse wildlife and bewitching scenery- The island of Layeho [Lay- Eh- Oh] lies in the Pacific; with her roots tucked into the Earth's core as she stems, blooming out of the piercing blue brine. She sat alone in her distance; away from predators. Her blistering surface- dry yet condensed. Her air- crisp yet orgasmic. The melodious gales- roaring yet holding the many generations of the ocean's floor surrounding her. Each day, she bore fruit until it was ripe enough to fall from her grasp, and rot, only to be sunk into the earth and birthed once more during rainy days. At night she admired her beauty as every curve was high enough to shine with the bright stars mirrored in the ocean. She was on top of the world, and she loved it.

She was Paradise? For a while, yes.

Fast forward a couple of cycles, colonies and centuries I'm too lazy to explain-
And then you got me;

...You're probably wondering what happened-
well, so am I.

The heaviness of my eyelids caused by the crust painted along my lashes made it excruciatingly painful to open fully to the faint calls of a raspy voice and a loud, per second interval, beeping sound. I let out soft groans, trying to form coherent words as I licked the cracks and tasted bits of blood that were on my lips, how long had I been here?

The pungent smell of hospital disinfect practically assaulted my nostrils as my upper body shot up, gasping for fresh air. The beeping sound got louder and faster, and I covered my ears in defense. I felt a pair of familiar hands brace my arms, and looked up. The blurred image before me sharpened at my abrasive squinting. I knew who he was, "Wezi?!" His tone-deaf approach left a ringing in my ears so loud my eyes welled-up with tears. Unfortunately, the cold air from the noisy air-conditioner dried them out before they had a chance to fall.

"Marv, really? Give her some breathing space, man!" A man protested, coming up beside me. Out of impulse, my hand caresses the throbbing bump on my forehead. Each press was like an on and off button as I'd get dazy with each touch.

"Do you want her to stay another day? Because we don't got' that kind of money, mkay?" 'Marv' countered, looking down at me. I rubbed my temples and my mind got a little fuzzy as I began to recollect all my thoughts and memories at once, "She's lucky I didn't slap her back to reality."

"...Hey Kiddo, you alright?" I got shivers down my spine, recognizing the voice immediately; Barry?

"Yo Dads, check me out!" I shook my head, knowing that pesky voice could only belong to the bane of my existence who I'm forced to call 'brother'; Ryker.

"Ry, get off that bed- you wanna crack your head open?!" Marvin, m-my dad, scolded followed by the sound of a pair of boots making contact with the floor.

"Wha-What happened?" I grumble, getting a good whiff of my morning breath; which is somehow strong enough to overpower the sensation of the classic hospital scent.

"I can help you with that," I jumped back slightly as a man appeared from the doorway behind me that I only noticed upon turning, "My name is Doctor Yuen. Wezi, you were rushed here last night because you slipped and hit your head, losing consciousness immediately," He explained, sitting down on my bed and analyzing my forehead.

"Dumbass." Ryker jeered, jumping into my view, landing onto a chair facing a Television set in front of me.

"Now, you may be a bit sore today, but I've run some tests and you only had a mild concussion," Dr. Yuen reassured, grabbing a clip board from the front of my bed, "But I will be giving you a prescription for Ibuprofen."

"No problem, doc- We got that at home." My dad grinned, slapping Dr. Yuen's back as he got up.

"What he means is, can she leave today?" Barry clarified. Meanwhile, I surveyed the room, poking at my chest electrodes.

"I don't see why not." Dr. Yuen concurred, "Just let the nurse come patch things up and you'll be free to go home."

"Cool. Ryker, stay with your sister while we go pay upfront." Barry instructed as the three men walked to the door.

"Are you both her fathers?" Dr. Yuen curiously wondered, escorting them out.

"Yep," Barry chirped, before clearing his throat, "Well, I'm her stepdad and he's her dad, dad."

"Oh, I've heard of this but never actually seen it on the island." Dr. Yuen articulated.

"Oh no, were not-" I could hear the panic in Barry's voice which made me choke out a laugh, "-Her mother was in a relationship with both of us at the same time, she left the island not too long ago... like, we didn't know about each other. She took all our mon-

Their conversation faded as they disappeared from the room. I glanced at the back of Ryker's head; watching static over an old Addams Family cartoon with no sound.

I felt around my bed for my phone; the only thing that could bring me sanity at this point in time. No luck.

I let out an aggressive phlegm cough which caught Ryker's attention.
He hunched over and forced himself up, flouncing up to my bedside.

"Ryker..." I breathed out, dramatically.

"Whoa dude, you kiss your mother with that mouth?" He flinched away, covering his nose.

"Pass me my phone fore' I kiss you!" I warned, glaring at him.

"Don't got it." He smiles, obnoxiously.

"Where is it?" I counter-questioned.

"Up my ass, I don't know." He shrugs.

"Okay, go ask one of the dads." I complain, shooing him away. I swear, I think I should stay in here at least ten more days. He slumps passed me, to the door, leaving me to satisfyingly scrape at the gunk on my eyelashes and let out a sleepy yawn.

"Babe, I came as soon as I heard!" Someone blurted, barging into the room.

"David?!"
