Chapter Two

Chapter Two

My mouth unexpectedly drops. He takes his hand and puts it below my jaw, pushing it closed. What a dick!

I can't believe this promiscuous person in front of me is the guy that I spent my summer with.

All jokes aside, he must be a twin, because there is no way that this is the guy I spent my summer with. No way.

He was standing there in pajama pants without a shirt. It looked like he rubbed baby oil all over his upper body. Seriously, no one's body just miraculously looks that good, I mean come on.

I get a flash back to us at the bar, with me sitting on top of the pool table, him standing between my legs kissing me. I had unbuttoned his shirt to see his gorgeously built chest.

He coughs, bringing me back to reality, staring at me staring at his muscles. Wow, I could not have made that any more awkward. Great!

Out of all of the dorms in this place, why did this man whore have to be my roommate!? Why couldn't I have just roomed with my friends or just roomed with the same sex?

"Do you want me to help you bring your stuff over?" He gave me a cocky corner smile.

"No, thank you." I said. Does he really think I want to dorm with him after he ditched me at the end of the summer? Or after me walking in on him fucking some slut?

He looked at me a bit confused. I am sure he is used to having his way.

"If it's about what happened earlier, I am sorry. I had no idea I would have company, and forgot to lock the door," he said. No matter how hard he tried, I could still tell he was one of those guys. One of those guys that had a new girl over every night. The kind of guy that was afraid of commitment, afraid of belonging to just one woman.

Which makes him literally the opposite of the person he was the last few weeks that we spent together.

"Look, I don't want you guys to be all crammed in here because of me. Seriously," he says while looking at all three of us.

He was really reaching in the bag for anything now.

"I appreciate the offer, I do, but I am good here. Thank you," He is like a phone telemarketer or a lotion salesman inside of a mall. He was not taking no for an answer and he had a rebuttal for everything. I started closing the door so he would get the hint.

He slips his foot in front of the door, stopping it from closing, and looks up at me with puppy dog eyes. Good thing, they don't work with me. I am the last girl he should be trying to charm. I don't believe it love, romance, or anything of that nature.

"Bye!" I tell him as I force the door shut, smashing his foot in the process. I hear him squeal from pain on the other side of the door.

All three of us laugh in unison.

"He is a piece of work, girl," says Cassie.

"You need to go be his roommate before I do." Eric says. Maybe somehow I can switch with Eric. I need to go have a talk with the dorm manager - as soon as possible.

"Do you guys remember the guy I told you about? The cute and sweet one that I spent the summer with?" I ask the both of them.

"How could we not? You ditched us all summer!" Cassie said upset.

"Cassie, I am so sorry. I thought I was falling in love. But I was getting played instead." I tell Eric and Cassie.

"What do you mean you were getting played?" Eric asked me.

"That was him." I lazily point my thumb to the door that he was just standing at.

Cassie's mouth drops to the floor. Eric starts talking a million miles a minute, shocked that Brooks was my secret summer fling.

After answering all of their questions, we spent the night watching sappy romance movies. Serendipity is one of my favorite movies of all time. I believe that corny romances are for movies, not real life. So even though I might not believe in love, I love watching it on tv because it's fake.

Cassie changes the movie and I realize my eyes are getting heavy. My phone beeps and I look down at it. It's a text from my dad asking how my first day went in my new dorm.

I text him back letting know what happened with Brooks and how the school mistakenly set me up to room with him. My dad reminds me of the pepper spray he put in my purse and also reminds me to be safe. By safe, he means 'use the condoms that I put in your purse - right next to the pepper spray'. He really is amazing. I can talk to him about anything.

The alarm clock on my phone goes off, waking me up. Cassie is already up being that every day is a beauty pageant to her. Eric also takes pride in his appearance but he usually doesn't need much time to get ready. I gather my clothes and my little shower caddy that my dad prepared for me and make my way to the dorm showers.

I will never ever get used to co-ed showers. There might be stalls to separate us, but I feel like someone is going to accidentally slide open the shower curtain that is separating me from the rest of the bathroom where people are brushing their teeth and washing their faces.

After scrubbing my body hard enough to start a fire, I throw my towel around my body and tuck it in above my breasts so I don't have to hold the towel up while I carry my caddy in one hand and tooth brush in the other.

I make my way over to the sink and begin brushing my teeth when I hear a somewhat familiar voice say, "Hey, baby. Miss me?"
