Not the father
"Wow.. so I have two in there? Two babies?
Are absolutely sure?"
"One hundred percent sure!"
"Holy shit.. Wow. Okay..." Jessica then looks down to her stomach and speak in a low and tearful voice.
"Hi guys!"
"Twins." Idris says.
"Am I the only one that's thrilled?" Ziah smiles.
"I'm happy, I'm just worried for my mom. Having twins is big!"
"Aw Bradley.. I'll be okay. I'm just in shock right now."
"Me too." Idris says earning a look from Jessica.
Soon everyone was out of the doctors office and off on their separate ways.
"Twins. Twins, Idris."
"I know.
I'm shocked.. but Jess-" Idris turns to Jessica.
"Huh?"
"This is great! They'll have each other to grow up with!"
"That's true." Jessica smiles softly.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking though?"
"I think so."
"These babies could have two different fathers."
"I know."
"Well we know for sure one is yours! So congratulations, you're gonna be a daddy again!"
"I am!" Idris smiles and places his hand on her stomach.
Jessica smiles and looks down to her bump.
"I knew this belly was too big for ten weeks!" She says making Idris laugh.
"Oh gosh, Idris." Jessica grabs her hair in her hands.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm officially a hoe. I have two babies from two different men inside of me!"
"Don't call yourself that! You are not a hoe."
"I feel like one! Oh gosh, my parents are going to be so disappointed."
"No, they're going to be happy for their two little surprise grandbabies!"
"I hope so.."
Idris leans over and kisses Jessica's cheek.
"Is there anywhere you'd like to go? I'm sure you're hungry."
Jessica sighs.
"I'm too nervous to eat right now. I just want to go to my parents' house and tell them everything."
"Everything?"
"Everything."
"Okay. Do you want me to go with you?"
"No. I think I need to do this alone.
Can you take me home so I can get my car?
"Of course."
**
On the way to her parents' house Jessica realized she was a little hungry. She decided to drive thru and grab a burger, fries, and a milkshake.
"Mmm, this is good." Jessica moans with a mouth full of food while driving.
"Oh gosh.." She rubs her stomach as she stops at a red light.
"I can't believe there are two of you little guys in there! I should have known.. Ah this is so crazy!
I do love you, and I'm excited that I get to be your mommy. You just have no idea how much trouble I'm going to be in! Your big brother's.." Jessica tears up.
"They're going to be so mad at mommy." She sniffles. "You may feel my emotions go a little nuts but.. I'll try my best to keep calm for you two."
**
"Oh Jessie! What a nice surprise! Ooh did you bring us food?"
"No, sorry. I ate on the way.."
"Oh it's okay! Are you alright?"
Jessica looks at her mother and instantly breaks down.
"I'm pregnant, mom!" She cries.
"What?! Oh Jessica! This is so amazing!" Dorothy hugs her daughter and jumps up and down.
"It's twins, momma."
"TWINS?! What?!" Dorothy screams.
"And they aren't Hank's.."
"Oh Thank you Jesus! This just gets better and better!"
"Momma.. oh momma.. I screwed up." Jessica looks down and shakes her head.
"Why? Who's the father?"
"It's.. No, I can't say it!"
"Sit down, honey. Talk to me. I'm your mother! You know you can tell me anything, sweet heart."
Jessica takes a deep breath.
"Please don't tell me I'm a whore when I tell you this."
"Oh stop it! I would never call you that!"
"Okay.. well.. When I said they're not Hank's.. it's true but.. not really.."
"What?"
"I think one might be his."
"Okay.. is that possible?"
"Oh it's possible!"
"Who do you think the father to the other baby is?"
"Well there's only one other person. I'm not that big of a hoe!"
"Stop it!" Dorothy lightly taps Jessica's thigh.
"Who is it?"
Jessica looks into her mother's eyes with tears. She can't get herself to tell her the truth.
"Jessica.. I won't judge you."
"Oh I would!"
"Come on, Jess!"
"Okay!
.... It's Idris. Idris is the father of one of my babies.
Possibly both, I don't know!"
Dorothy doesn't say a word. She was in shock.
"Momma? Oh gosh, please say something! This is worse!"
"I-I-I don't know.. I don't know what to say.
How do the boys feel?"
"They don't know." Jessica cries softly.
"Well.. maybe you don't have to tell them!"
Jessica gives her mother a look like she's crazy.
"Mom! Seriously? They're gonna know when I'm as white as snow and my baby comes out with skin like he's been VACATIONING IN THE BAHAMAS!" Jessica shouts.
"Oh! Oh wow, that's right!"
"I just don't want them to hate me."
"You need to tell them now. The longer you wait, the worse their reaction will be."
"I know. You're right.."
