Daryl wants Zyona to stay beside her.

Zyona excitedly wants to go out...
"tawagin ko lang mom mo Daryl sa tapat lang naman ng room"

Daryl spoke in a low tone of voice and still weak.

He said "mamaya mo na sila tawagin, ang tagal naman niya kanina"

Zyona surprised reaction...
"kanina?! oh wait gising kana kanina pa? You mean narinig mo ko from the very beginning!"

Daryl expressed happily "oo narinig ko lahat, kulang nalang sabihin mo 143"

Zyona smirked and told him "143 ka dyan! Eh kung tusukin ko kaya yang tahi mo sa dibdib?!"

Daryl winked "yan namiss ko sayo!"

Zyona cranky response "miss agad? Kahapon magkasama tayo"

He seriously said "nang mawalan ako ng malay... parang ang tagal ko ng tulog parang hindi isang gabi lang"

Zyona revealed "unconscious ka daw nung sinugod dito, fear ko kagabi baka ma comatose ka... "

Daryl joked "kala ko mamatay"

She hated when being joked about death "oist bad! knock on wood" as a superstition to avoid it from happening she knocked the side table thrice.

Then Zyona asked "bakit hindi ka kumibo nung naiwan si mommy mo dito?"

Daryl shared "hindi ko maimulat agad mga mata ko at nanglalambot pa ako magsalita kanina ni walang sound lumabas, pero noong nagsalita ka nakinig nalang muna ako"

Zyona remembered "nagaalala na sila, tawagin ko nurse for sure may bilin yong doctor mo pag nagising kana"

Daryl insisted "Zyona please huwag ka muna lumabas, 10 minutes lang"

Zyona disagreed "no, 5 minutes"

Daryl offered "7 minutes"

Zyona laughed "deal"

And she asked nicely "how are you? What do you feel?"

Daryl explained "Ok nako andyan ka eh"
Zyona quickly said "hay nako, tinanong ng maayos"

Daryl stated "maayos naman sagot ko ah, hindi ko pa maramdaman yong operation ko pero medyo nahihilo pa ako, si Dana?"

Zyona smiled and informed him "may anesthesia pa cguro. She's getting better, may mga cuts and bruises lang baka nga madischarge na bukas"

Daryl asked anxiously ... "good! ako kailan?"

She said "wala pa kasi sinasabi doctor mo"

Daryl removed his blanket and asked...
"ano nangyari sa mga binti ko?"

Zyona diverted the question "time's up! tawagin ko na sila"

Daryl pulled her hand again so tight and asked sincerely "why Zyona ganito?" pointing to his legs.

Zyona answered "I dont think I'm the right person to discuss it with you" and she vowed her head.

Daryl stared "please gusto ko malaman ngayon na"

Zyona looked at him, took a deep breath and explained...
" okay, your doctor said that your legs are temporarily disabled, na fracture right leg mo at nabugbog yong kanan kaya halos puro pasa na... Pero don't worry through medicines and theraphy lang daw babalik ka na din sa dati"

Daryl bombarded Zyona
"hangang kailan ako ganito?...
Paano ko mababantayan si Dana?
Yong bahay?...
Yong shop?...
Anong assurance na babalik ako sa dati?"

Zyona touched his arms and said calmly "you can use wheelchair naman daw, pero dapat healed na yang tahi sa chest mo. Assurance? I know how determined ka kaya for sure within 6 months you're back on track! Huwag mo muna isipin yang mga yan, sarili mo muna magpagaling ka Daryl"

Daryl madly said " 6 months ang tagal! hindi pwede hindi ko isipin yon, wala naman pakialam magulang namin, kung hindi pa may masamang nangyari sa amin malamang hindi naman nila kami kakamustahin!"

Zyona reacted kindly " mas mabilis yon if you never fail to attend your theraphy sessions and were here to support you... Daryl parents mo yon, they care about you, they drove from baguio as fast as they could"

Daryl said angrily "care? You don't know them"

Zyona quickly answered "puso mo Daryl, easy lang ... Well based on how they talk to me mukhang ok naman at ramdam ko yong love nila sa inyo ni Dana"

Daryl strongly expressed "magaling sila makisama sa iba...pero sariling anak hindi"

She got worried "Daryl baka bumuka sugat mo, relax. I wanted to understand you but I don't know kung saan nangagaling yang sama ng loob mo?"
And added " we can talk it over, but please tawagin ko muna sila and yong nurse ng masabihan na doctor mo"

Daryl calmy responded "okay Zyona, thank you, pasensya ka na naabala ka "

Zyona insisted "may bayad toh noh"

Daryl said while he pout his lips "pwede ba kiss nalang?"

Zyona shouted "kiss your face! labas na ako wag pasaway babalik ako agad"

Daryl whispered "ang sungit! Pasalamat ka mahalaga ka sa akin "

Zyona went to the nurse station and informed them afterwards to Dana's room.
Kurt walked Dana to his brother followed by their mom.

Zyona opened the door so the nurse came in together with Dr. Llamas.

The doctor told the nurse to check and monitor his vital signs, and he explained about the fracture he has and they will place a cast on him later.

It'll take a week or two the threads on his chest will subside and that's the time Daryl will start his theraphy to help him move little by little.

Mrs. Deb Mendoza " so how long he'll stay here?"

Daryl sarcastically asked "oo nga doc hangang kailan ako dito? kasi may mga lakad na ahead of time pa magulang ko nakakahiya naman"

Zyona opened his eyes wide and felt annoyed with Daryl.

Kurt and Dana looked at each other felt awkard, while their mom shown a poker face.

Dr. Llmas responded " on your 5th day lets see how it goes more likely a week if not more than that, you need to regain your energy and we need to monitor you from head to toe" and he further discussed his condition and Daryl's medicine. And the doctor left.

Dana sat down near his brother and said "kuya palakas ka ah, I'm so happy you're okay at gising na..."

Daryl touched her sister's face and said
" lalakas ako bunso... ikaw din para makauwi kana bukas"

Kurt joined and said "kuya Daryl! kaya mo yan basketball tayo pagaling mo!"

Daryl smiled "Kurt salamat sa pagdalaw, oo ba! wala ka naman sinabi sa akin... " they laughed.

Mrs. Deb "si Zyona kagabi pa yan dito , thanks to her"

Daryl ignored her mom instead he said "Zyona you need to rest baka ikaw naman magkasakit..."

Zyona happily expressed "tita you're welcome po, and you Daryl uuwi ako later babawi ako sleep"

Daryl reminded her "dapat lang! hindi pa kita maalagaan kaya bawal magkasakit"

Kurt asked quickly "kuya girlfriend mo ba si ate Zyona? Bagay kayo!"

Dana reacted "Bagay na bagay la la la febibig nga naman" and laughed

Zyona and Daryl smiled secretly.

Mrs. Deb "I'll call your dad" she went outside and informed him about Daryl.

Dana exclaimed "nangangalay na ako kuya, balik muna ako sa bed"

Daryl agreed "sige bunso balik ka na sa room mo"

Kurt decided "alis na din ako kuya, ate... magreview pa ako may exam pa bukas"

Dana surprisingly reacted "wow! kelan ka pa nagreview kurt?"

Daryl silly response "eh wala ka Dana ... Wala ako makokopiyahan so its a must now!"

Everybody bursted with laughed and suddenly Daryl
" aray arayyy...mmmm"

Zyona immediately came closer and looked at him
"hala Daryl... fresh pa yang tahi sayo, take it easy..."

Daryl hold her hand and put it in his chest and said "may sugat man toh sayo na ito"

Zyona was shocked and her hand became sweaty. She quickly said...
"aanhin ko dibdib mo? Meron naman ako niyan!"

Dana and kurt giggles.

Daryl answered " puso ko hindi dibdib ko"

Zyona blushed but hides it and simply said "ahhh okay"

Dana said " haha ewan ko sa inyo labas na kami"

Kurt added "Sige kuya, pagaling ka!"

"ingat kurt!" Daryl

Kurt lead Dana back to her room, and told her he'll call. Then he said goodbye to her godmother outside and Will try to comeback tomorrow.

Mr. Dan was happy to know the latest news about Daryl and on his way to the hospital so Mrs. Deb will just wait for him in Dana's room.

Zyona "Daryl nagugutom kaba?

Daryl "hindi naman"

Zyona gave his phone,"hindi ko nasagot nagmissed call si Ahron. Sino yon?"

Daryl shared "best friend ko yan since high school, parang utol ko na medyo naging busy kasi pamilyado na"

Zyona "alright, siguro kakamustahin ka. Taga saan ba siya?"

Daryl "baka nga, sa new manila lang" and added
"Zyona gusto mo na ba matulog?"

"ha? Hindi pa... Bakit?

Daryl teased her "hindi pa daw... humikab kana nga, tabi tayo gusto mo..."

Zyona reacted "Ikaw ang matulog Daryl, hey maiba ako hindi maganda binitawan mo kanina noong andito mommy mo"

Daryl said "hindi pa ako inaantok"
"alin? Tinamaan ba siya?"

Zyona answered "alam mo sinasabi ko... May impact yon and it sounds disrespectful"

Daryl strongly expressed"totoo naman sinabi ko tuwing napupurnada mga gagawin nila, kami magaadjust ni bunso"

Zyona thought " baka hindi lang kayo nagkakaintindihan, naguusap ba kayo?"

"hindi"~Daryl

Zyona seriously asked "Did you ever try to talk to them? about how you feel or how you see things in the house?"

"I tried Zyona but they never listen"

"what if wrong timing? Tuwing kakausapin mo sila..."

Daryl perceived"anak kami, there's no such thing as wrong timing. We need them pero wala sila"

"Daryl may kanya kanya tayo pagunawa at pagcope up sa mga situation, let me put this way..."

Daryl interrupted her and said "are we really talking about this right now?"

Zyona looked at him and answered "I just want you to be okay..."

Daryl stated "I am okay Zyona!"

Zyona closed her eyes and stared Daryl "you should be grateful may parents ka pa, you should be happy you have a complete family. Everyone have their shortcomings even you. so if you can't appreciate your mom and dad, I dont think I can appreciate you!"

Daryl took her hand but Zyona pushed it away then she stood up.

"I didn't mean mangilam Daryl, I miss my parents so much tapos ikaw ganyan? I envy you!"

Daryl felt ashamed and saddened...

Zyona vented "We've almost lose you!
All we prayed for is to be with you! we want to make it up to you for all the things we've missed to spend time with you all these years. I can't tolerate you for pushing them away, can you just simply love them despite of?"

Daryl asked sincerely "what do you want me to do?"

Zyona heartfelt response "Open you're heart Daryl... Come to think of it isn't a blessing disguise what happened to you? your parents are trying to reach out in the best way they can..."

Daryl got emotional and it gets into his head the importance of her sentiments.

Zyona came closer then placed her hand into his chest and immensely told him...
"Daryl, alam mong mahalaga ang bawat oras huwag mo ng palampasin ito... mahirap magsisi sa huli and for sure your parents does the same thing"

Daryl put his hand over Zyona's hand and he looked at her with unfeigned admiration... "I won't let you down..."

Zyona smiled and pleased "naks rexona hahaha you should! Dahil kung hindi..."

Daryl asked "dahil kung hindi? Iiwan mo ko?"

Zyona laughed and answered "huwag kang feeling! Oh siya magpahinga kana muna check ko kapatid mo saglit"

Daryl funny response " try ko matulog, medyo heavy drama yong scene kanina baka masundan pa mamaya eh, bawi muna ako lakas hahaha"

Zyona giggles and went to Dana's room apprently she is happily talking to her mom "ayy sorry po naistorbo ko kayo"

"no iha, dami na naikwento si Dana about you"

"sa akin po? I hope it's all good stories"

"oo naman ate ako pa ba?"

And Mr. Dan Mendoza called their attention "ang saya saya naman makita ng magiina ko, gusto ko sana makausap si Daryl "

"matutulog daw po muna siya"

"ok, ikaw Zyona umuwi at magpahinga ka din"

"opo, mamaya po alis na din ako, babalik po ako bukas ng maaga para kayo naman po ni tita makapagpahinga"

"hindi na, were good darating din naman pinsan nila may kapalitan kami ng hapon"

"tita hapon pa po yon, kung makakauwi kayo ng maaga mas mahaba po rest niyo. I insist "

"ok papayag ako Zyona, basta take a good rest paguwi mo"

"yes po!"

Its already 4:00 pm Zyona decided that she's going home, they all thanked her.

Zyona checked Daryl and said ...
"Daryl umuwi muna ako ah, balik ako bukas. kain ka at palakas ka agad"

Daryl quickly said "lumalakas na ako makita ka"

Zyona smirked "ang corny! oh btw your dad wants talk to you"

"sige gusto ko yan" they smiled.

"bye Daryl see you tom" Zyona waived her hand.

"thank you Zyona so much, ingat ka! please inform us nakarating kana sa inyo"

"welcome! Yes po sir Daryl!" they all laughed at each other then she left and Asked Mr. Mendoza to go inside.

Mr. Mendoza felt awkward as he reached Daryl's bed but he touched and stared his son... "anak miss kana namin, kamusta ka na?"

Daryl looked at him straight to the eyes and answered "miss na miss ko na kayo ni mommy, hindi ko na matandaan kung kailan tayo huli ganito kalapit magusap"

Mr. Dan "ang sarap naman marinig nang sinabi mo, pasensiya kana kung hindi tayo nakakapagusap hindi ako komfortable sa mga eye to eye na usapan at....sana mapatawad mo kami na hindi namin maiparamdam sa inyo ni Dana pero we love you both very much"

"Dad siguro I need a wake up call! Narealize ko na napakaswerte ko na may magulang ako na katulad niyo, pasensiya na din po wala akong ginawa kung hindi hanapan kayo ng mali..."

"Son, salamat pero mas maswerte kami na ang panganay namin ay napaka responsable, maalaga at mapagmahal. Magasawa ka na anak!"

Daryl silly reaction "ang ganda na eh biglang magasawa na agad, may lakad nanaman ba kayo?"

Mr. Dan laughed and advice him "haha tumatanda na kami ng mommy mo. pagaling mo anak, huwag mo na siyang pakawalaan"

Daryl asked like he has no idea "hindi pa nakakapagtapos si Dana, sino?"

Mr. Dan insisted and smiled "baka nga excited pa kapatid mo. huwag kang magpacute anak kilala mo na kung sino..."

Daryl quickly said and his eyes twinkled "si Zyona po? Hawak ko na po yon"  and he smiled.

Mr. Dan stated "meron pa bang iba? minsan anak hawak mo na kumakawala pa..."

Daryl proudly said "Dad hahahaha ikaw ba yan? Aalgaan ko po siya"

Mr. Dan explained "hahaha! Daryl hindi sapat ang aalagaan mo lang. But the real question is does she wants to be taken cared of by you?"

Daryl have no words to say and he wondered what his dad told him.

Mr. Dan added "Son, you need to let her know your intentions. Ang mga babae they want us to tell them what we feel for them. They are avoiding to jump into conclusions"

Daryl expressed seriously "Dad pwede pala tayo magusap ng ganito, anyway I'm observing pa po baka she's too nice because we're friends"

Mr. Dan told him "what do you expect? Maging bad siya sayo?... Son, you don't have to observe, be agressive!. Hindi mo na kailangan makiramdam kung sigurado ka sakanya. Girls are mysterious and unpredictable"

Daryl giggles and said "agree Dad, I should learn from you"

They both laughed and nurse came in to give medicine and checked the dextrose.

After few minutes, his dad told him he'll buy sonething downstairs and let Daryl to take rest.

Daryl gets groogy and he started to feel his bodyache so he easily fell asleep.

Zyona went out the cab and walked near the entrance of her condo. She noticed that Blue is waiting for her and said to herself "oh no, gusto ko na magpahinga andito pa si blue"

Blue happily saw her and about to stood up when Zyona told him "anong ginagawa mo diyan? Hindi mo na sana ako hinantay!"

Blue wholeheartedly expressed "Zyona, I'm doing just fine. You look tired, I can cook for you or anything I can do for you"

Zyona instantly said "That's great to know you're doing fine. Yeah I'm tired so if you don't mind I'll go to my place and sleep. Thank you, but I don't need your help. You can go home now."

Blue nicely respond "Saan ka ba galing? mamaya na ako uuwi"

Zyona told him "nagbantay ako sa hospital kaya please ayaw ko na maistorbo blue"

Blue gave the flowers and asked "Sino nasa hospital? Family member mo? Hindi naman kita iistorbohin gusto ko lang makasiguro nasa ayos ka"

Zyona got irritated "si Dana and Daryl. I'm all good Blue so ok na?"

Blue curiously asked "masyado kana ata attach sa magkapatid na yan? Si Daryl naba?"

Zyona crankily said "I don't have to answer all of your questions, utang na loob blue umuwi kana."

Blue insisted "yes or no lang... aalis na ako"

Zyona glared and thought to end this conversation she said "yes"

Blue was hurt that Zyona is into Daryl, he simply said."I guess, I'm really out of your life. Just be happy Zyona and in 3 days I'm leaving" he walked away feeling numbed.

Zyona doesn't regret anything she said.
"I will be, Have a safe trip Blue"

Blue did not looked back at Zyona.

She went to her condo, and jumped in the bed right away and texted Daryl...
"JGH, sleep na muna ako. Eat a lot! Get well :)"

At the middle of night she had her peanut butter sandwich and she left her phone on the bed to watch a movie in the living room. she's pretty confident that everything is all good with Dana and Daryl in the hospital.

But around 1 in the morning and she did not heard any calls...

Zyona is not answering still, and text messages received.

She stood up turned off the television and went to the bathroom suddenly she heard the alert notifications.

Then afterawhile, she took her phone and read the first few texts...

And new text messages received...

***Wake up call reminds us that You only Live Once so make most out of it!

What happened to Daryl?

Will he survive?

Was it too late for them?
