Why? Why did I admit that? It's the afternoon after my, I suppose the phrase would be, 'confession' and the atmosphere is awkward. Dinner last night was eaten in silence, only sharing a passing glance at one another. I didn't realise she left this morning either, not a sound came from her as she got her bag and left for her daily classes. I sighed, finishing up my training report for the day before logging out of my machine. "Leaving early Senku?" The trainer asked as i strode pass. I nodded, "Okay, have a good weekend." 

My mind was blank as I walked down the hall. I need to make this right? Though, I'm not sure how to do just that? Assuming the scientific approach would cause more problems, I would rather avoid that but then being up front could cause more confusion. "Thank you for today's lesson," I looked up, seeing Ria bow as she left the classroom, before heading the other way.  

My pace started to quicken, only to be blocked by the intrusion of Dr. Xeno. I feel like a new enemy has entered the fray. "Ah Senku, come in," He gestured me into the classroom and for some reason, my body found itself complying. Perhaps it's because I see this man as the enemy when it comes to Ria's affection. I took a seat on the near by desk as Dr. Xeno sat on his desk opposite. "Ria was quite out of it in today's lessons." 

"Yeah," I laughed. "You could say she's been out of it since last night." 

"She told me about what you had said," My blood ran cold and my body stiffened. "She wanted some advice hwo to approach you about it as you seem to have said something 'non-Senku-like' as she put it." 

I sighed, scratching at my head. "She asked how I see her," I shot back. "And the best way I could but it is an illogical feeling. What did I do wrong?" 

Leaning back on his hands, i started to see a new side to Dr. Xeno, perhaps this is the version of him Ria sees? "Define, illogical feeling to me," He ordered,. raising a brow. "Because the Senku I know would investigate every little thing before he blurts it out to someone. He would have proof of what it means." 

His words hit me hard, my mind starting to race over what the term 'illogical feelings' means. No, what it means to me. "Illogical feelings cloud the way you think," I started. "But they also lead to fun and interesting things. Doesn't that sound like Ria?" 

"Does Ria know that's what you think of her?" He asked and I shuck my head. I never did share the meaning to her. She is an illogical feeling because she is unexpected, creeps up at you at any time but it's fun. "Well, I think you guys need to talk? I'm seriously investing a lot the two of you." I raised a brow at him. He laughed, picking up a paper of his desk. "I highly recommended you when you I saw your name on this list and this paper, is the one Ria wrote, that you so graciously sent me."

Ah right. I figured he would enjoy reading a paper Ria wrote and sent it without her knowledge. Well, I can deduct she now knows. "Thanks Dr. Xeno," I hopped off the desk, cracking my neck. "I think i have a couple of misunderstandings to clear up." 

"All the best," Dr. Xeno said as I left. "The both of you."

Walking into the apartment, it was no surprise that Ria was sat on the sofa, just watching a movie. She does this when she needs something to numb her mind of the things going around her. She clearly noticed my entrance as she sat up straight, turning off the movie. I smiled, walking in and taking my usual seat beside her. I looked at her, examining her features, noticing she was staring down at the floor with a solemn look. "I think we need to clear things up," She nodded at my statement. "I realised I freaked you out with what I said but let me explain. Since we met, you've been an anomaly I didn't account for in my life. My feelings towards you, I call illogical as when it comes to you I tend to follow my gut but I find it fun." 

She suddenly started to laugh, tucking her hair behind her ear and finally looking at my face. "Senku, you want to know my definition of illogical feelings?" She asked, leaning closer to me. I nodded. "Okay, then I'm about to conduct a quick experiment to see if you realise." 

She closed her eyes, briefly I could feel her breath against my lips and before I could react her lips were on mine. A spark ran down my spine and my brain kicked in a part of it my pubescent self ignored. I closed my eyes leaning into the kiss. What felt like a lifetime must have only been mere seconds as Ria pulled away, her face flushed. "I love you Senku," She whispered, sounding as if she was about to cry. 

"R-Ria," I stammered, not sure how to handle this confession right now. "I, I never really thought of love, you know this."

"I know," She continued to smile. "Love for you isn't something you wanted so I've hid these feelings for you. But when you mentioned illogical feelings, I was hoping you might feel the same."  

Before she could leave, I grabbed her shoulders, pushing her back down and giving her another brief kiss. "You need to let me finish," I stated, causing her eyes to widen and I finally had her full attention. "The experiment I mentioned, that night on the roof. It was you and I'm thinking that perhaps I haven't fully analysed the results." 

"Senk-"

I interrupted her. "As my assistant, I ask this one thing from you," She nodded. "Give me time to think over my illogical feelings more. One last part of this experiment which will take place when I come back from the mission." 

She was quiet for a moment before she nodded. "Okay," She agreed and my heart jumped. "I will not rush you to come to a conclusion. I've waited all this time and a little bit longer wouldn't hurt, right?" 

I nodded leaning forward, kissing her forehead. "I promise, you'll have an answer, in the place we're not allowed to forget."
