Further Research

Ria and I continued to walk the halls of JAXA. Today, both of us have completed our orientation and confirmed our enrolment. Due to the nature of the next mission and future missions, JAXA have opened their own science based University, which Ria will be attending, while I, will be attending my training sessions for the upcoming mission in eighteen to twenty months. As we walked, Ria gushed at each room, trying to sneak peaks inside, leading to being scolded by some of the professors. "I can't believe this is real," She cooed in disbelief. "Isn't it awesome Senku?"

She had a toothy grin and as I opened my mouth to speak, I was interrupted. "Ah, Senku," My eyes widened at the recognitions of the voice. I looked forward, seeing him. "I presume you still remember me, I would love your opinions on my latest research after all."

I smirked, "Of course Dr. Xeno," I walked forward shaking his hand, Hearing Ria stammer behind. The mood of an anticipated reunion was killed as my assistant turned into a bumbling idiot. I sighed, letting go of Dr.Xeno's hand and pointing behind me using my thumb. "This is my lab assistant, Ria Casewell."

Dr. Xeno nodded with a hum, walking up to a dumbfounded Ria. "Casewell, you must be Allister's daughter."

With that sentence, she snapped out of it, coming back to the conversation. "You knew my father?" She asked.

Shaking his head, Dr. Xeno held out his hand as he started to explain; "Actually, I knew of him. He was well respected in the field of areodynamics. I am sorry for your loss."

"Thank you," My chest tighten, seeing Ria blush as she took Dr. Xeno's hand. What's going on? I've watched her shake hands with people all day and this one is bothering me. "Um, if you wouldn't mind, I would like to sit in with Senku and yourself in that discussion about your paper."

I felt another notch tighten in my chest. "Why, I would be delighted," Dr. Xeno smiled caringly before leaving us be.

Ria started to jump up and down before launching herself into me, hugging me tightly. "I just met Dr. Xeno!" She cheered. She soon calm down and stared me in the eyes, keeping a firm grip. "How do you know him? I've been meaning to ask since you we're able to get his papers and all, but I guess we had other things going on." I smirked. Hehe,. you know think i'll hold this information secret for now. She'd flip if she learnt the truth. I must have been silent for a while as Ria quickly pushed herself away. "S-sorry, that wasn't logical. Guess my feelings got in the way."

"You know, illogical feelings," I took a pause, smile smile softening. "I've learnt, that they don't always get in the way."

"Are you okay?" Ria burst out laughing unexpectedly. She grabbed my shoulders, turning me around and started to push me out the door. "These fumes must be getting to your head. Let's get out of here and celebrate our enrolment."

I thought for a moment, "Oh, you want that pudding cup I owe you," She stopped pushing me, as I started to walk myself and walked beside me. I had secretly hoped that she had forgotten about it. "All because you guess how far along Lillian is? What a stupid bet?"

"You made it," Ria teased poking my cheek. "Guess you don't know the female biology as well as you thought you did."

"Logically," I stated bluntly. "I am of the opposite sex."

"Well, if you don't want to buy me one now, how about another bet," Ria got that devious smile and I smirked in return. "Double the bet, winner has to guess the weight of the baby, your allowed to be out by 2 pounds."

"Get excited," I laughed. "Because I will win this one but i want one more condition added to the bet." Ria raised a brow. "Since you think I don't know women that well, should you loose, you have to help me further that research."

"What?"
