Bickslow's POV

I was currently sitting in the hospital waiting room with the rest of the guild. When we had discovered Gray collapsed in a pool of his own blood we had rushed him to the nearest hospital. The run was too much and Freed collapsed the second we arrived and was taken back by the doctors as well. After all of that I had rushed back to the guild to find Natsu who freaked out the moment he found out.

Now we were sitting side by side shaking in the hospital waiting room. Natsu had been crying and shaking, repeatedly telling himself it was all his fault. Lucy and Happy had tried to comfort him but nothing seemed to ease his sorrow.

I was in the same boat except I hadn't stopped crying. I was so worried about Gray that had let my mate over exert himself. His biggest fear was coming to light and there was nothing I could do about it as of right now. I felt powerless.

I felt Natsu's hand on my shoulder as he shook me. He looked dead inside but he pointed ahead of him.

"Um are you Mr. Freed Justine's relative sir or partner sir?" The small female nurse asked. I jumped up from my seat startling the nurse.

"Y-yes I'm his boyfriend" I said as I took off my helmet. This only seemed to tighten the girl more so I reluctantly put it back on. I knew I was disgusting looking but Freed had made me forget about the mean stares.

"P-please right this way." The nurse gestured as I quickly followed her to a room. On one side was a bed where Gray was still being examined by doctors though he was still unconscious. Then there was a white curtain that divided the room. The nurse pulled back the curtain and let me inside before quickly shutting it again.

I saw Freed with his knees to his chest shaking in fear in the corner of his bed. The sheets barely covered him. He was in some sort of blue and white hospital gown. I quickly rushed over to him and sat down in front of him on the small chair.

"Freed...baby" I said as I reached out for his hand, before I could grab it my hand was slapped away. My heart broke in that moment before Freed looked at me. His eyes were clear and he was shocked.

"B-Bickslow I-I....I'm so sorry I was so caught up in my mind I had no clue it was you!" He said desperately as tears ran down his face. I stood up quickly and pulled him into a hug as I hushed him.

"It's okay baby....just calm down, it's not good for the babies or you." I said as Freed took a few deep breaths.

"Now tell me what's happened." I said as I backed away and sat down in the chair again. His hands were gripping mine tightly.

"T-the babies are fine b-but I can't use my magic, w-when I panicked I cast a big enchantment on myself and it almost killed us, I'm not aloud or able to use magic while pregnant especially not with twins." He said as more tears escaped his eyes.

I slipped one hand free and wiped the tears from his reddening eyes. I smiled sadly as I put my hand on his cheek.

"This was my fault Freed....I should have protected you better." I said as tears of my own started to fall.

"Bickslow....it's not your fault....it's mine I should have just given Laxus what he wa-"

"No!" I shouted as I put my hands firmly on his shoulders "no" I repeated as Freed cried some more.

"What that monster did to you is inexcusable, and if he ever so much as thinks about laying a finger on you again I'll rip him a knew one and steal his soul." I said angrily as I hugged Freed close.

Freed's muffled cries calmed down soon as he fell asleep in my arms. I laid him back down carefully and covered him with the sheet as I heard the curtain move. I hadn't even noticed Natsu was in here.

"Natsu Wha-"

"Thank you for saving Gray" he said with tears streaming down his face. "I can't live without him, I know it's all my fault because I wasn't there to protect him now we might lose the baby." Natsu said as he broke down crying. I pulled him into a hug as we both sunk to the floor and cried together.

"The magic council has been alerted to what has happened and it is indeed true that Laxus has escaped." Erza said as I said on the end of Freed's bed.

Freed shook visibly and grabbed my hand tightly. I gave it a reassuring squeeze as Natsu looked at us. He was sitting on the end of Gray's bed as we all waited for him to wake up.

They said it would take a few hours for the drugs they had Gray on to wear off so he could wake up but he had been asleep for three days.

Lucy, Natsu and Erza had never left his side. Juvia Wendy and Charle came to visit from time to time as well but they couldn't stay because of curfew at the girls home.

"With the magic council on the case I'm sure Laxus will be found in no time." Lucy said as she patted Natsu's back. Natsu's gaze never moved from Grays face. Natsu hadn't slept the entire time since Gray came into the hospital. He vowed to not rest until Gray woke up. We all begged him to sleep but he refused saying he wouldn't let this happen again. A sudden groan brought us all back to reality as tears ran down Natsu's face.

"G-Gray..." Natsu croaked out as he held his hand tightly. Gray's eyes gently fluttered open at the sound of Natsu's voice. Once he realized he was in a hospital his eyes widened with fear.

"The baby!" He shouted his voice hoarse from not being used for three days.

"Is just fine" Natsu said as he stroked Grays face lovingly. He cried as Gray tested up and wrapped his arms around him.

"I-I had just gotten home and there was a knock on the door...when I opened it I was stuck by lighting and threw out the window...that's the last thing I remember..." Gray said as he shook in Natsu's embrace.

Erza and me growled. Us alphas had one thing in common and it was that we hated seeing injured or scared omegas. Lucy even though she was a beta shared the anger with us.

"Laxus will pay for this." Lucy said as she grabbed Erza's arm and pulled her out of the room to give the pair some privacy. I simply pulled the curtain shut around us and hugged Freed close. I know he must be terrified but I vow I'll lose my life before Laxus lays another finger on him.
