"Mom I am all right" Rishika knew that her mother was awake whole night just being worried about her

"Ya I can see that on your forehead" her mother gave a sarcastic reply  "Tell me name of those kids, I will ensure that your father put complaint to your college management"

"My gosh mom, suddenly my Nirupa Rai became Mother India" Rishika couldn't control her smile, she really liked her own joke

"You can joke as much as you want, I had a talk with your father, you won't go to that college now" her mother was firm

Rishika's face changed "So you want me to stay at home and then marry me off"

"Don't be melodramatic, I said 'that college', we will put you in other college" her mother said as a matter of fact

" I don't want to join some Radhabai Charitable Blind trust mom" Rishika was really angry now

Contorting her face mom said "Who is sending you there, I am talking about some better college"  she got up from bed saying
"Let's talk when your father is back"

Rishika's mom went to the almirah and started arranging Rishika's clothes. She noticed Rishika's white Kurta with blood stains on it. Mom had tears in her eyes, she really wanted Rishika to be happy. She knew that Rishika just wanted to be a normal girl.

As a parents they just wanted world to accept their daughter as normal kid, nothing more nothing less.

Is that something extraordinary to ask from others, treat kids with special needs as normal kids. How can they, after all they added 'Special' to differentiate.

But it's never like that, either there is apathy or too much attention. When Rishika was in school it was her father's persistence which ensured that she gets admission in a top school of the city.
Rishika's mother always wondered why it was so difficult for schools to include specially abled kids in the same class as other kids goes. Curriculum and facilities should be more inclusive and should change as human need it to be, not the other way.
The more inclusive education system we make, more it will benefit every kid.

Her mom remembered telling Rishika that it's possible to close eyes and listen to what profs teach and to understand it. And that she told she used to do in her college, to that Rishika will always reply
"Mom, it's not called studying, you must be dozing off in the class" that brought smile on her face.

Rishika's mom came out of her thoughts on hearing doorbell ringing. She went out to see but came back blabbering something.

"Now what happened mom" Rishika asked 

She replied "this is second time since morning, some notorious kid is ringing the doorbell and running away"  with clear irritation on her face she continued  "I told your father that we should have a camera at the door but he never listen to me"

Rishika slowly got up from her bed and moved towards the window, moving curtains sideways she let morning sunshine and cold air touch her face, this is best part for her in morning.

Doorbell rang again, her mom rushed to the door to catch hold of notorious kid but it was Rishika's father.

Mitesh opened his mobile to check WhatsApp, he was hoping to get some information about Rishika, he had red eyes due to less sleep

Powlo: Dude you don't talk, you were the one who took Ritu away, and for your info Rads she is blind so how can she see me 😵🤪🥺

Rads: Now what happened to Mitesh, why he left?

Mitesh didn't know what to do, hence he left the group, keeping mobile back to his pocket  he came out from behind the tree where he was hiding just opposite to Rishika's house. He did saw her for few seconds when she came to the window which gave him some consolation.

He also tried reaching her directly but didn't find the strength to face her parents, hence ran away after ringing her doorbell twice. If she opened the door he would have seen her from close but both times it was her mother at the door. As finally she came to the window, he saw her, he can now go back home and can get some sleep.
He was behind the tree from last 6 hours, almost whole night.

Rishika's father came inside house and couldn't understand angry look on her mother's face, ignoring he went to Rishika's room with mother following him.

"How is my brave kiddo" he went near Rishika's bed

"Oh so you are that notorious boy, teasing my mother" Rishika said with a serious face

Her father was clueless but both Rishika and her mother laughed incessantly.

Then her mother asked "Tell us dear who were those students who took you in washroom"

"I told you mom I went there myself" Rishika showed irritation now

"Ritu told me everything dear and whenever you lie your ear starts flickering, we will change your college now" mom replied

Is she my friend or my mom's spy, Rishika wondered "My ears never flickers, you just made that up I know"

Her father came to the rescue "we won't, she is a fighter, and these are small injuries of war, my daughter will hit back I know"
He was really proud "and for sure she knew where she was going, I know her senses"

"Ya dad I did, Gents washroom can't be missed from a mile away, how you boys go in such a dirty and full of stench place" Rishika rubber her nose

Her father gave a look, she knew it "am so glad dear that you think am still a boy" he laughed "leave all this now, look what I got for you"

And her father kept a little puppy on her hands, with that soft touch Rishika forget everything around. A year back there old dog Pup died and after that they decided not to have any pets.

"Thank you thank you thank you Dad and Mom am so so happy" her face was brightened

They both got up and left her with the puppy. Rishika sitting on her bed said to virtual voice assistant device

"Alexa, say hi to Bella"

Alexa: 'Hi Bella'

Her father shouted from outside, "it's a boy"

Rishika: "Oh, then hi to  Chota Don"

Her mom laughed thinking animals and technologies are more human than us.
