You wandered through the thicket hitting your staff against the ground in short intervals like a rhythm. Here's the catch you wandered in darkness, nothing but pitch black with nothing but your touch, smell, hearing, and taste to help guide you. You groaned at how long it took you to walk, your feet were sore and you were sure that you were still miles away from civilization. You sighed but you continued your way with a strong demeanor. You heard rumors of the dangers of this forest in the mountains yet your stubborn attitude wanted you to venture out into the wilderness away from the village you were staying at, and collect the herbs for the elder. He knew you well, and he knew of your incident that happened when you were at a prime age. You can still picture it in your mind, the bandits, the fire, the disappearance of your family and everything around you. But that didn't stop you from becoming the person you are now, who helps people, is wise, and is able to give judgement on a person. You hit your staff against the ground again and finally your hears caught the sound of a certain song. Not just any song but the song of a bird, you knew this sound since you did this task more than once. You knelt down lifting your robes slightly and felt along the ground. You finally felt the texture of something smooth and rubbed you finger along it, and then you caught the horribly bitter smell which made you cringe slightly.

"This is definitely the herbs he wanted." You said, you gathered 5 leaves in your satchel and felt satisfied. You thumped your staff on the ground again and the images of the forest played through your mind for a second. You got your bearings and went straight back to the village. It's a trick you learned from the elder, he told you of an ability humans can develop called echolocation. Something that bats use with their sound, you found it fascinating and started experimenting until you eventually learned the trick. It made it much easier to maneuver around, and you could move freely instead of being cooped up in a medical ward like others. You eventually found your way out of the forest and along the dirt path, and then you heard voices. Judging by the sound it was at least five feet away from you. You cautiously sneaked closer and overheard the conversation.

"Are you sure they've been spotted around here?" A gruff male voice asked.

"That's what's been reported, but that princess is a relentless one. She and her little band have gotten a lot stronger since her escape from the palace." Another male voice said.

'Princess? Palace?' You thought. You have heard news of the princess who escaped the palace along with her bodyguard who happened to be the leader of the Wind Tribe, a neighbor from where your home used to be in the Water Tribe. This news brought a little surprise to you, you've always wondered what it would be like to see-no meet the princess. After hearing the news of her father's death and the sudden rise of the new Emperor Soo-Won you felt a string of pity and felt nothing more than to comfort this princess on the run.

"I spot a person, Halt you!" The guard exclaimed.

You froze in your tracks and didn't say anything. You felt a dread feeling in your stomach and decided to play it smart.

"Uh, yes? Is there a problem?" You asked.

"Have you possibly seen a girl with red hair, about 5 other men with her, and also a boy?" He asked roughly.

"Why no, and I possibly couldn't see anything for I am blind." You said in the most polite way. You always kept your eyes closed because what's the point of opening them if all you see is black. Your irises showed nothing but a blank and white look, something so dull compared to the brightness of other people. It always made you feel insecure.

"O-Oh my apologies." He said. You could hear the mix of regret and pity in his voice.

"That's perfectly fine, I was just heading towards down this path." You said.

"Oh why yes, we'll get out of your way. Would possibly like an escort?" The guard asked.

'And as usual people offer me help.' You thought annoyed.

"That won't be necessary, thank you." You said and bowed. You walked past the guards ignoring the murmurs you heard of them about you being a lost little blind girl. You stopped and turned, "Also you'll find no princess around these parts. It's abandoned and there's no sign of civilization. Plus the forest has much too many foes and offers no place for shelter. I'm sure they would've turned and headed in the opposite direction." You said and pointed to the path opposite the village. You played smart and decided to lead them away from the village. It wasn't as if it was famous or anything, in fact no one knows its location.

"Oh, well that does have some sense. We'll search down there." The guard said and you heard the stomp of their feet and the shadowed image of their retreating figure heading down the path.

"Hehe I just lead them down a dead end." You said to yourself and giggle with slight mischief. Just because you're blind, doesn't mean you can't have a little fun once in a while. You continued down your path so close to the village, and you heard more voices. One was a high-pitched feminine voice of a girl and the others were all the deep voice of a male, with one exception of the voice of a child.

'This seems...familiar.' You thought. You thumped your staff on the ground again. Like your ears heard the shadowed figures of a female, males, and male child appeared.

"Um, excuse me." You said and made your presence known. The group stopped their prattle and turned to you.

"Are you perhaps...lost?" You said hesitantly.

"Uh, no we just, uh, yeah." The child stuttered and you smiled.

"Is there perhaps anywhere that has shelter?" The female asked.

"Well, I'm heading towards my village now." You said.

"There's a village here?" One male asked.

"It's hidden, for specific reasons too. I can lead you there." You said.

"Oh that would be great!" A peppy male voice exclaimed. You started walking again and heard the feet of the group shuffle. You didn't know why, but you sensed someone staring at your figure.
