~part 3~
A beautiful warm day dawned upon Hogwarts, yet my heart still felt as cold as ice.
"Ida! Ida get up! You're late!"
I stretched my arms and cringed at Hermione's high pitched voice screaming in my face, slowly turning to face the clock.
"Goodness!" I jumped out and took a quick shower, getting dressed as fast I could.
"Hermione - you go. I don't want you to be late 'cause of me. Just go."
"But, won't you get lost?" She asked quickly, clutching her books.
"I'll be fine. I have to go somewhere else first."
"Okay." She ran off, leaving me looking around the corridors.
My dormitory was on the first floor; a fine pair of steady staircases were awaiting near my feet, so I decided to walk up a flight.
Before I could set a foot on any stairs, a finger tapped my shoulder from behind, causing me to jump out of my skin.
"Miss Malfoy?" A thin, cold voice sent goosebumps of anxiety up my spine.
I turned round shivering.
The dark haired professor, known to wear black robes as dark as his hair was standing right behind me!
"Err, uhh - good - good morning professor Snape! Hope you're having a fine day." I said with an exhausted smile and tried to swerve past him.
He took a stride in front of my path.
"I'm... I'm so sorry professor, I thought that my class was on the second floor but I know professor Dumbledore warned us and -"
"Congratulations on being moved up a year for your precocious knowledge in all subjects." He said, eyeing me with a fixed glare.
I sighed in relief. "Oh, thanks sir. Thank you very m..." before I could complete my sentence, he pivoted on his heel and his robes flew up to his shoulder in the wind coming directly at my face, walking away.
I followed him quickly.
To my surprise, I went to the correct classroom, but all the students were lined up outside, some leaning against the window frame and some sat down with their legs spread out as if they were on holiday.
"Hermione!" I gasped as I noticed her lining up obediently unlike some others.
"Ida! How come you're here?"
"They moved me up a grade and..."
"Ron! Harry!" I smiled upon seeing them.
"Oh look it's Draco's sister! Oh my goodness, she looks heavenly. Like strawberry soufflé!" Sharon Jenuvile whispered rather loudly, causing my cheeks to flush a bright red. I was used to this attention, but it always seemed so embarrassing - especially as I was known as the daughter of the Malfoy family.
Hearing his name, Draco turned round and gave me a smile.
"Blimey, like cake!? Thats a first!" Ron giggled, rolling his eyes at the rather "crack" girl.
"Mr Thomas how many times have I told you not to lean against that fragile window like a distorted, disturbed, disrupted dragon?" Snape's sharp voice made everyone jump to their feet.
"Sorry professor - I..."
Snaped shot through the door and everyone filed in quickly, realizing that he was in a bad mood.
"Crikey! He's your teacher?! I wonder how Draco gets along with him?" I teased.
"Pretty well actually." Pansy Parkinson said, interrupting in our conversation, grabbing the desk beside me.
My smile faded as I saw the scowl on her face.
"Who's she?" I asked Hermione as she sat down in her seat, leaning over her desk as I waited in queue to ask Snape something.
"Pansy. Just ignore her. There's been a rumor that apparently she's trying to conjure up a love potion for Draco, along with Romilda as her partner in crime for Harry!" Hermione whispered, eyeing the laughing group next to us.
"Goodness!"
"They're always up to some 'secret group meetings'." She did something weird with her eyes. "Crazy, they are... oh and you kn..."
"Miss Malfoy. I apologize for interrupting your highly important conversation with Miss Granger, which had to be pre-poned from lunch to MY lesson."
I blinked away awkwardly.
"I would be grateful if you could show me my seat professor."
His straight, expressionless face froze as he rose his wand and pointed to Harry who was looking at us along with the whole class.
I saw Draco rolling his eyes. "Had to put her there." He whispered to Crabbe.
I was more than happy to join him.
"Share with Potter today." Snape said quickly as everyone opened their books.
"Besides - I heard you're very intelligent for your age. You won't need the book." He said slowly and quietly, exaggerating on the longer syllables which made my blood freeze as I paused to take a deep breath.
Harry moved his textbook towards the middle so we both could view it.
"Thanks." I whispered. He smiled back.
"Err, Ida? Can you help me on this question?" Pansy said in her sweetest voice.
I just looked at her, then looked away.
Pansy's face fell. How rude?
"Pan-Pan, if you wanna get close to Draco, then you have to extract information from her!" Romilda spoke with fake sorrow.
I cringed inside my head with a slight face palm. Wait until Draco hears about this!
💓
"WHAT?" Crabbe and Goyle burst out laughing as I told them the story in the great hall as to how Pansy was brewing up a love potion.
Draco eyed me while he drank his butter beer, keeping an unusually straight face.
"It's not that unusual, after all - I am a Malfoy..." he lifted one eyebrow.
"So what?"
"Well, think about how many guys are lined up for you, dear Ida." Draco said coldly.
"Of course! Eek - we can't wait to get to know you, Ida! Err - Ida darling! I'm sure you'll feel right at home with me and..." Pansy appeared, putting on her fake flirty accent.
She nudged Romilda.
"O-oh... of course. And with me. We'll be best friends."
I cringed at their silly little cheesy dialogues they got from "love potion diaries" - a famous diary found in the library.
A small grin was visible on Draco's face. His hair was perfectly gelled back this evening and I saw the exasperated look in each girl's eyes as he walked past.
"The Malfoy siblings are the ultimate best!" I heard two girls whisper as they walked past.
I laughed.
Draco got up to go and hugged me on the way.
I wrapped my arms around him, making the other girls feel jealous as I smirked.
He took off his blazer and carried it over his left arm. A rather small crowd was gathered near us now, watching us.
"Excuse me, ladies." Draco said politely which made each girl present melt down.
Romilda fainted.
"Oh my!" Everyone gathered round her now and I giggled, trying to conceal it from everyone else.
"Not getting enough attention, are we?" Madame Pomfrey came up behind me.
"Huh... w-what?"
"I should really keep a closer watch on Romilda. She's not getting enough attention lately."
"Oh yes! You're absolutely right! And Pansy can help you with that, can't you Pansy?" I bit my lip to stop laughing at her frustrated face.
"Of course she can. Oh I'm delighted to be getting some help in the infirmary. Lovely, you really are helpful, Miss Malfoy." Madame Pomfrey gave me a sweet look.
"Anytime." I winked and the others dropped their mouths.
