We were all playing in the yard with the volleyball, me, Kageyama, and some of the kids around my neighborhood. We had finished this school year and it was summer time. I have been homeschooled since like 6th grade because of the bullying I got from the other kids about my medical problem. But my parents were going to let me go to public school for my 3rd year. Yeah i was older than kageyama but we were from the same neighborhood so we grew up together. We had to choose a high school to apply to and hope we got accepted. I had already sent my application to Kurasuno but Kageyama sent his to Shiritorizawa. He got a letter in the mail saying he didnt make it so instead he sent a letter to Kurasuno like me.

"(Y/N)!" Kageyama had called me from my thoughts back to the game. He sent a ball my way and as if on instinct I ran and jumped snaking the ball down on the other kids side."That's no fair yall are both older and better." In of the kids says. "Yeah we want one of yall on our team." Another said. "Alright I'll be on y'alls team next time then." I said to them shortly after there parents called them to go home.

Me and Kageyama turned to take me home first and it was silent until "I got into Kurasuno." He said I looked at him and my eyes lit up. "So did I, were going to the same school." I screamed and picked Kageyama up and spun around. "Hey put me down i didnt tell you so you could torture me." I put him down and acted confused. "What other reason to tell me anything." He rolled his eyes. Then got serious, "you know, now that we are going to the same school you could join the volleyball team with me." My eyes widened again. He was right he could help me when I'm in trouble. "But your going on the boys team I dont think they allow girls." I said. "Well we can still try maybe they will allow it, you cant give up without trying can you." I nodded my head, "your right when school comes around we'll see about me joining." I said then turned to him. "Hey Kagy" I said. Mhm he answered. "If we do get to play together I'm going to be better than you." I said with a cocky grin on my face. "We play different positions dumb ass." He pointed out. "Well them im going to play my position better than you." I stuck my tounge out and then ran with him chasing me.

School starts today and we were leaving heading to the school. It was a silent walk and when we got there I went to find the teacher over the volleyball team while kagy went the volleyball gym to practice. When I found him I called him out. "Umm sir can I speak to you." He turned around and nodded his head.

"I would like to join the volleyball team please."

"Um well I'm not over the girls volleyball team but I can ask her for you if you wa..."

"No I want to be on the boys volleyball team. I have this medical problem and I can only do things or go places when I am with someone who can deal with my medical problem. Only few people know about it and I'd like to keep it that way. One of the other first years signing up for the volleyball team is my best friend who knows how to deal with this situation. The only way I can play volleyball is on a team with him sir." I said bowing slightly. He studered a bit.

"Um well I cam check with the volleyball community and see if that's ok but no promises." He told me.

"Thank you sir." I then left and went to the volleyball gymnasium and saw that Kageyama and a boy with bright orange hair were stuck outside while the door was closed and I herd the team working out. I walked over to Kageyama "hey dude what's going on." I asked.

"Well this dumb ass fought with me because I beat him last year and knocked the tupay off the vp."

"I wasnt the only one who was at fault your the one who set the ball badly."

"I did not, it's not my fault you receive with your face."

"Alright stop it you two why are you out here and not in there." I asked.

"The captain said we have to get along or we won't be able to joint the team." As the orange haired kid finished speaking the captian came out and said that there was going to be a 3 on 3. It was going to be Tanaka and the two outside vs. The captian and two other newbies. If they won they would join with no repricutions bit if they lost then Kageyama would never be a setter for there team. Kageyama and the other kid who I learned was named hinata stayed to practice while I went home.

They made it on the team and a little while b4 the first practice takeda came to me amd told me that the council said yes bit now the committee leaders know about my medical problem. We had practice today and I was going to officially meet the team as their teamate. The school bell rang and i ran to the gym. I got there before most of the team the only people there were Kageyama and Hinata. I walked up to Kageyama "hey the volleyball council approved it I'm an official volleyball player Kagy." I said his eyes widened slightly amd he gave me a smirk. "Cool." I could tell he was more happy than just a cool bit he didnt want people to know he was nice.

"Wait what do you mean." Hinata asked

"Well I'm on the boys volleyball team due to some personal reasons but I won't bring the team down I promise." I said giving him a smile.

"Oh that's so cool what position do you play." He asked with sparkles in his eyes. "Um I'm a spiker I can play anywhere as a spiker tho." I replied.

We continued talking and eventually everyone voted here. They all huddled up when takeda called them and I stood in the front. "This is y'alls new teamate (y/n)." He said

"WHAT THEY LET GIRLS KN THE BOYS VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND NOBODY TOLD ME." The dude with a shaved head said.

"Not necessarily, (y/n) is a special case. She is her on this team for personal reasons that the volleyball council has approved." Takeda explained.

"Still shes a total babe." The shaved head dude said. I blushed a little. "Yeah now we will have to protect kiyoko and her." The short libero said.

"Ok now introduce yourself team." The captain said. They went down the row and gave there name and position. I noticed we sisnt have and ace. "What happened to our ace." I asked. The one named nishinoya looked down, "he had a tough match with another one of our teams and lost faith in himself, I refuse to join this team till he returns because if I do and we win then it would be like saying we can win without him and I just cant do that." He said. So not only do we not have an ace but we also dont have a libero at the moment.

We continued practice and at the end we were dismissed and went home.

We continued practicing every weekday after school. It was great, we were practicing right now when the door burst open to reveal takeda. We all looked at him and he said to gather around. We jogged and lined up in front of him. "We have a practice game with aoba johsai next week." He said.

"This is a great opportunity thanks takeda." Daichi said. "Alright team this is our opportunity to show them that we arnt the flightless crows anymore." Daichi said. We were dismissed and went home.

I woke up and headed to practice. Once I got in there I decided it would be a good idea to work on some recieves while we wait for the others. Kageyama was already there. "Hey kagy can you serve some balls for me to recieve?" I asked him he looked at me and nodded. We went to the supply closet and grabbed the basket of balls and went back out kageyama stayed on one side while i walked to the other. He served one and it was going a bit fast. I moved to be centered at it and hit my arms and bounced up it hit the floor after because there wasnt anyone there.

We did this a few times before i got bored with it. "Hey kagy can you move it around a bit." He grunted and nodded. He threw it up into the are and ran and jumped his hand connected to the ball amd it went to my left quite fast if i do say so myself. I ran towards the landing spot of the ball and dived at it hitting it back into the air. I smirked. "Is that all you got?" I said tauntingly at him. His face got a but darker and I got a little worried. I went back to where I was and he repeated the process but this time not as far. It was barely away from the net. I rushed to the ball in front of me and drove to reach it. It connected with my hand and went back up into the air. As the ball left my hand I continued traveling forward. And ended up making into the ball cart. I herd laughing and looked to the source to find the team at the door. I got embarrassed and looked away.

"That was a nice save (y/n)." Suga said. "Thanks haha." I chuckled. "Are you a libero?" Daichi asked. "No I'm a spiker I guess I can sometimes retrieve the ball pretty well." I answered back. "Well it was pretty great work there it makes me wonder about your spiking skills since that's your main skill." Daichi said.

"Um if you throw a few balls kageyama can set me some balls and I can show you." I said gaining a bit of confidence. He nodded and walked over. Grabbed a ball and threw the ball into the air in front on kagy and he looked at me and set the ball up and I slammed the ball down as hard as I could. It went straight to the floor and squished making a loud sound as it made contact with the floor.

Hinata eyes widened and he raced over to me. "That was amazing how did you do it with so much force and it not go out." He praised. "Um...... I just kinda jump with a fwoosh and then swing my arm with a swish and then bang and the ball is at the floor." I said to which daichi and kageyama deadpanned. "That didnt make any sense idiot." Tsukishima said. "No no I got it usually when I go to hit mine it's like a fshift then a kablam then the ball h oh it's with a kaboom." Hinata said. "Dude that's so cool." I respond.

"Alright were ganna work on spikes so setters go in front of the net." Daichi instructed. 'Sir' was the reply as suga and kagy went to the front. We all lined up in the court. The setters threw the ball and the person up to spike would receive and send it back then run up to spike as the setter set the ball for them. This is what we worked on for most of the time today then went home.

We played aoba johsai after the weekend was over and I was totally ready to beat there asses.
