Chapter 11: CONTROL
Dust watched, standing there, still as a statue. Blue and Papyrus, on the other hand, were hugging each other, a frenzy of happiness and relief. A reunion of which Blue had wanted and prayed for for so long, praying to anything, the stars, gods, even praying to echo-flowers which had been able to grow in the darkest, abandoned rooms of Dust's mansion.
Papyrus held him, held his brother close to his chest with such a tight grip that Blue had started to complain about not being able to breath. Papyrus loosened, smiling to himself as he watched Blue gulp in air. He was glad. He had feared, feared so much that Dust would never return with Blue, Papyrus had gone as mad enough to believe that Blue was dead.
Of course, that wasn't true now that he could see his brother before him, healthy and as happy as ever.
~~~~~
The two ignored Dust who stood in the snow, a shadow cast over his eyes. They weren't aware of what was happening in his mind.
Dust was hallucinating. He must of been!? He couldn't see anything, couldn't feel or hear anything, yet he knew he was running through a void of black abyss. Running from what? Or who? He turned back, panting as he strained to breath, scanning the darkness with his eyes as he ran faster. Gripping his hands into tight fists.
Something was chasing him, getting closer and closer. He wanted to yell, scream out, whatever he could to make a peep, yet when he opened his mouth nothing came out. His throat felt raw and breathing was now a true struggle. Whatever was behind him- he could feel it's aura. Now behind him. Something grabbed his ankle, pulling him back like a dog on a leash. Unable to escape from whatever or whoever it was.
And soon, it swallowed him up. The last thing he saw was the wide grin and orange eyes, of the brother he once loved dearly.
~~~~~~
Blue laughed a little, wiping away at his eyes where there were tears- tears of pure joy and whatever word described happiness. He was safe, safe.. safe... Oh how long he had wanted to think and praise that word.
He smiled up at his brother who chuckled before Papyrus looked forwards, to where Dust was. His smile faltered in a frown, his eyes showed confusion as he slowly stood up.
Blue raised a brow and followed his gaze, his eyes resting on Dust who stood there, shaking as if he was freezing to death. Blue flinched and was about to run towards his friend until... Until Dust moved his head, made eye contact with him...
He froze, what on earth...?
Dust stared at him, through eyes of which Blue could no longer recognize as those which belonged to his friend. No. These were not the red and blue and slight purple pupils which he had been looking at for the past few weeks... months? He couldn't recall just how long he had been taken away from his brother- that didn't matter right now.
Blue swallowed, staring into those deep eyes which glowed a bright purple, like Papyrus's but brighter, more determined. He looked deeper and was met face on with rage and grief.
A pair of sharp bones appeared in Dust's hand as he jerked unnaturally, whatever was controlling him was only just getting used to this new body.
Papyrus swallowed tightly, seems like he had also noticed the strange changed within the skeleton.
Blue stared and watched before Dust finally straightened his posture, smiled so widely that it looked like his jaw would snap off before he lunged.
Shit.
