Xaiden's POV.

I came out of my room on hearing the fire alarm. The noise of my dad yelling could be heard as I headed towards him. I yawned pretending I had just woken up from sleep. I stretched my arms and mastering a shocked expression, I asked my dad.

"Dad! What happened?"

"Damn it! My whole office had been set on fire." He groaned in anger and shouting at the firefighter to get the fire in control. The whole office was now burnt into ashes. The fire that I started had engulfed the whole room as the curtains, carpet and all wooden furniture along with every single paper was burnt completely.

"Dad! The file is safe, right?" I asked not giving him a single hint that I was the reason behind this.

"Don't know. It was placed in my room but I couldn't find it now." His jaw tightened and his hands clenched into fists so tightly that his knuckles started to turn white.

The fire got under control and I was glad that my plan had been completed as nothing was remained out of that office. Every single thing was burnt to ashes and the walls were half black showing how intense was the fire.

"How fire was caught?" My dad yelled at the house staff as I stood there silent.

"Sir... I-I think the wire short circuitry," One man said as dad shoot a glare at him.

"Shut the fuck up! This isn't an excuse! It had never happened before!" He flinched as my dad shouted and then he kept quiet.

"Show me the footage of the security cameras!" He ordered and for a moment, my heart sank. I forgot that there were cameras in the hallways.

Damn it! Now what?

"Xaiden! Bring me the camera footage." Dad didn't look at me and when he called my name. For a moment my heart ceased to beat. I simply nodded and after saying yes to him, I headed towards the computer room of the house.

I composed my behaviour to not let anyone suspect me. The household staff and our men could never dare to suspect me because I was their master. But I was sure that dad didn't have that trust in me. I entered the room and looked through the security camera footage. My heart beating faster with fear that what if dad recognized me. I looked at the footage and let out a sigh of relief when it showed just a mere shadow of a person. As it was midnight and most house lights were off, it wasn't clear.

"Damn! Who the fuck is this man?" I jolted by my dad's sudden voice. I didn't know he was standing beside me and when did he come here?

"Don't know, dad," I said with a clear voice to not let him suspect.

"Fuck! We were so close. All the important information and documents are burnt. I'll kill this man." Dad banged on the table with his hand as the computer got shut by the sudden tremble. I straightened myself and looked at my dad. In this dark room, his facial expression was no less than a monster. His jaw was clenched and his eyes burning with rage. His face looked like that of a beast ready to unleash itself. I knew how I used to be scared of his this side but now it didn't seem to affect me because I was used to it.

"Can't we meet those people again and ask for another file?" I inquired, thinking that this might also give me a hint of how much time was left for me to save her.

"We can but it might take a week or two." Dad groaned and I could sense he was trying his best to control his beastly anger.

"We need to contact them soon." With that, dad stride out of the room and I knew where he was heading towards. He was going to unleash his anger and there was only one thing that could calm him down right now. At once I heard a bang of a gun knowing that he had done for what he went out.

I headed out and saw our two men lying dead on the floor. Although they weren't at fault but it was my dad's way to unleash his anger. Whenever anything would go wrong, dad would kill one of our men to give others a clear warning. Whether it would be their fault or not but they would pay if anything goes wrong again.

"Clear this up." He ordered and headed upstairs towards his room. Every person's eye was fixed on the dead bodies covered with blood in front. A deep fear was visible on all of their faces as two men started clearing the mess made by my dad. Taking a deep breath, I headed towards dad's room. I knew he was at his full anger but this was the best time for my next step.

I knocked on the door and when I heard a come in, I entered in. I looked at him as he was sitting on the rocking chair in the middle of the room, covered in darkness. The only light was the rays of the moon breaking their way into the room through the window. His eyes closed and his breathing calm.

"Dad! I am going to arrange another meeting with them," I said as he simply nodded. He didn't utter a single word so I decided to carry on.

"And I'll be going to America." At my these words, his eyes snapped open and then his stare directed towards me.

"Why?" His voice was so deep and authoritative that it could make a person tremble but not me, not anymore.

"To continue the task given to me. I have seen her face and now it'll be easy to find her." I tried to give him the best reason so he won't suspect me.

"You failed once." He stated as his eyes still set on me. I knew he was observing me carefully, his eyes as if searching the true intentions of me. For a moment, my heart got engulfed by a fear that he might suspect something but I kept my composure. I didn't let him see through me.

"I won't fail twice," I stated as my chin held high in confidence.

"And what if you do?"

"Then you can give me the same punishment you gave to those men." I looked at his eyes and stared at them without flinching. Our eyes staring and I didn't let myself surrender in front of him this time. I was not going to be afraid of him anymore, I'd face him now. A smirk took its place on his lips on hearing my words as he slightly nodded.

"Keep your words in mind." He smirked at me and then motioned me to leave.

I came out and closing the door of hell, I let out a deep breath. My first step towards saving her was complete and now it's time for next.
