Chapter 2: Challenge or Stubbornness

Her eyes followed his every moments as he quietly took his tray from the canteen and made his way in an empty table. She had never seen him hanging out with any friend. Infact she was wondering how he could have spent those hours without wishing for any company to talk to him. Many boys of the college wanted to be his friends but it was he who always pushed people away. Even there were many girls who literally would be willing to do anything to have him as boyfriend. Nevertheless, he didn't give a second glance to someone. He was a walking greek god with perfect grades and full of attitude.

The moment he had collided with her and kind of humiliated her, it had ignited something in her for what she was now desperate to know him. Something about him was strongly attracting her. Not just a simple crush. He was making her to feel something. He was a daring boy undoubtedly who knew how to speak on his behalf and show someone's place. It was not that she was not aware regarding his personality. But today, she was just being very observant since the heated argument between them had absolutely affected her in a strong way. So she was having the strong urge to go near him and getting to know his real side not the bad boy image he had created infront of the whole population of the college.

With determination and preparation, she went towards his table. Raghav was scrolling through his phone while taking bite of his sandwich. He was so engrossed with his own work at that time that he failed to notice the known figure standing behind him.

Ishita silently took a seat beside him seeing that he had not still now noticed her. She felt sudden irritation when he didn't notice her presence. She took a quick scan of herself to confirm that she was looking presentable enough. No, she looked perfect. Then why wasn't he paying attention?

"So, are you going to acknowledge me or will you pretend as if I am not here?" She asked when she got the hint that he had now noticed her but was not making any move to look at her or say anything to her.

"I have heard that when you ignore something long enough, it will eventually disappear." Raghav said without taking his eyes off the phone. Ishita could instantly feel her head boiling when he compared to her with just something. She was not definitely "something". Her ego was again bruised by this stupid boy. Composing herself, she chose to ignore his comment.

"You know what you should be nice sometimes. Being an asshole is not going to do any good to you." She stated. This time, his eyes lifted from his phone and met with hers.

"I don't see any problem with myself. If you have problem, why are you here? And yeah, I am like this - asshole according to your dictionary." He replied smugly rolling his eyes at her.

"This obviously doesn't imply anything. I know that you have a heart because you are human at the end of the day." She quinted her eyebrows. He simply sighed at her words.

"Ishita, why are you here? Shouldn't you be with your higher class friends instead of a mechanic?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"That's my own decision to take. You don't have to be the spokesperson for me. I am well aware about what I am doing and what I will do." She retorted defensively.

"I am not doing anything but stating the fact."He justified shrugging shoulder.

"Why do you have to be so difficult?" She mutter-asked lowering her head.

"I am like that only." He cleared out shrugging off his shoulder.

"Why do you have answers for everything?" She asked narrowing her eyes at him.

"Oh, then why do you have so many questions in your mind? Last time, I have checked that you are the one asking questions and I am just answering your question just like anybody will do." He casually remarked putting on a fake smile. Ishita ignored his remark and frowned at him.

"Raghav" She whispered glaring at him.

"What Isha? What did I do wrong now?" He faked an innocent look as he leaned closer pressing his lips in a thin line. She quickly noticed the name he had called her right now.

"Isha? I am Ishita, not Isha." She mentioned furrowing her eyebrows.

"So what? I can't afford to say such a long name." He replied nonchalantly.

"Come on, my name is not that long." She trailed off but deep down, she had already started liking her new name.

"It's that long." He said nodding at his own answer.

"Now, you should leave." He added next time.

"No" She shook her head in denial.

"Then I guess, I should leave." He stated and stood up immediately grabbing his backpack. Before he could move further, Ishita shot forward her hand grabbing his wrist.Raghav turned towards her, his eyes fell on where her hand had grabbed him. She followed his stare and tried to snatch her hand away from him but Raghav was quick to jerk her hand away before she could do so.

"Leave me alone, Isha." He snapped at her and walked away leaving her there with defeated sigh.

She knew that it was going to be harder to make him being normal with her. He was all about risks and challenges. She could easily verdict that he would be obliged to end up with her. She wouldn't leave him alone .Even if it could make her seem as desperate, she was not going to bother. It had become more of a challenge just within a short period time. Now she would do anything just to make sure of her priorities. Even if it would cost her reputation, she was not going to care. She knew that people would throw questions eventually but now she was on a mission and she would make sure to complete her mission with success.

A week passed in a blink of an eye. Those days had been spent with Ishita constantly following Raghav in everywhere and trying to make conversation with him. He had lost the count of how many times he had snapped at her. But all she had done was just giving him a mean glare and avoiding any of his remark. Infact at some points, she had defended herself in the sassiest way possible. At first he was annoyed with her presence but now things had changed. Sometimes he found himself now enjoying her careless nature rather than getting mad at her. He was still clueless about why a rich and smart girl like her was trying to come closer to her knowing that it could cost her reputation.

In case of Ishita, she now had found amusement in annoying Raghav with her hilarious statement (as per him). She loved to see him getting riled up. It was definitely fun to be with him. She had not lost hope. She was aware that at end, she would win. It was bound to happen. With her quite manipulative and jolly nature, she always found other ways to accomplish her wish.

It was day after Monday. Ishita was already on her way to the garage. The garage where Raghav worked as a mechanic. Last day without giving him any hint or informing him anything, she followed him and got to know about his workplace. She had also bribed one of the works for getting to know about the work schedule of Raghav without his knowledge.

The car stopped infront of old workshop that looked shabby and untidy. She observed the smaller buildings and shops in the area. She realized that it was another part of the town. This was the place where the working class and middle class people lived wheras she belonged to the land of wealthy buisness icons and wealthy persons.

"Thank you Dion. Now you can go to your house. I will drive back from here." She glanced at her driver. He was Dion, a man around his fifties who had been working under them as her driver for around twenty years. He had practically seen Ishita growing up from her babyhood. Despite being their worker, Ishita and Dion shared a very good bond. She absolutely adored Dion who did nothing less in return.Dion also lived in this part of the town. So it had not been much of a problem to look out the location of Raghav's house and garage both.

"Are you sure, Ms. Ishita? Will you able to drive back home?" Dion asked, concern laced with his voice. He truly cared for this arrogant rich girl just like his own daughter. She could be rude but to him, she was an angel with perfection.

"Sure Dion. My friend will take me home today. You can go now. Take the rest of the day off. I won't mind." She replied with a shrug of her shoulder.

"Ok" Dion nodded and got out of his seat quickly coming in the side of her.She smiled politely when Dion opened the door for her.

After Dion left the place, she quickly scanned the place. There were old and some fractured cars lined up in a row just infront of the wide entrace of the garage. She walked in the garage while examining the place with her judgemental stare.

Her eyes fell on a round man who looked quite old, was sitting on a chair writing something on some papers. She cleared her throat to gain his attention. The man soon looked up and his eyes immediately widened seeing a young girl standing there. He was stunned because it was clearly visible from her appearance that she was not from any normal family, she was surely from some wealthy family. He stood up from his place and stood infront of her.

"Excuse me." She said.

"Yes Mam, what happened with your car? Is there any problem with it? Should we have to fix anything? Tell me." He immediately threw questions at her.

Ishita looked at the man with raised eyebrows finding the way of his talking a bit funny.

"No, my car's steering wheel and accelerator are not functioning properly. So I have come here to repair them." She smoothly lied like she had adopted the art of lying quite well. It was nothing new for her. She had lied to her parents multiple times when she had spent nights at some club chilling and partying.

"Ok,sure. I am calling Manik right now. He will repair your car." He offered gently nodding his head at her.

But before he could call anyone or Manik, Ishita immediately cut him off and said, "I need to see Raghav now. I want him to repair my car."

The man stared at her with doubtful look.

"But why not Manik? Why Raghav?" He asked putting his hand under his chin.

"Just do whatever I am saying otherwise I will make sure to close this garage forever and rot you in streets without any money just like a begger. You don't know me." She snapped at him pointing a finger in his direction. The man got scared, well known to the power of rich folks. So he chose to obey her and called Raghav.

Raghav was working on a car when one of his co-workers came to him and told him that the manager had called him for a new car. Apparently, someone wanted to meet him. With a huff of annoyance, Raghav headed towards the place where their manager was standing with Ishita by his side.

He immediately got irritated at the mere sight of her. He approached her with clearly annoyance written on all over his face. Ishita noticed and smiled in triumphant internally. A big grin apperaed on her face as she noticed him already getting annoyed.

"What?" He shouted on her face when he stood infront of her. That man soon glared at him and commanded,

"Don't speak to her like that. She is our customer. You can't talk to her in this way."

Raghav just rolled his eyes at his words and ignored him completely.

"What are you doing here, Isha?" He asked raising his eyebrows.

"Shut up. You can't speak with her in this way. Stop disrespecting her. I will be obliged to report to your uncle." That manager again threatened Raghav totally pissed off with his wrong attitude to their customer.

"Can you just shut up? It's mine and Raghav's issue. We will solve it together. Just go away and leave us alone." This time, Ishita spoke running her hand through her hair, feeling disgusted with the man. The man looked at her with wide eyes for some times and nodded his head before leaving them.

"You need to repair my steering wheel and accelerator,Raghav." Ishita said crossing her hands over her chest. Raghav's eyes followed her movement and landed on her chest area where her cleavage was visible due to her v-neck white sundress. He cursed under his breath for getting bit distracted and then released some air.

"Ok, let's go." He simply stated. Ishita wondered why he easily had agreed to her words. What could have happened that he literally listened to her without any argument? After all, it had not been exactly easy to deal with Raghav.

She nodded and they both moved towards the parking area where she had parked her car. She opened the door for the driver seat of her car for him.

"What has happened with your steering wheel?" Raghav asked keeping his hand on steering wheel, his eyes searching for any damage.

"Check it yourself. It's not working." She said, biting her lips. She had lied many times. It was not a big deal for her. But now she was getting nervous with him. Even she was unaware why she was hesitating to lie to him.

He eyed at her for a minute before bending down to check the accelerator. Taking the chance, Ishita smiled mischievously and pushed him with her all power in the car almost making him to stumble with the seat. His face hit with the soft seat and he let out a graon in clear annoyance. She laughed seeing his situation- his lower part of his body hanging outside wheras his upper part was inside the car leaning on seat.

"What the fuck!" He yelled standing up adjusting his ridden up shirt and turned towards Ishita who was now in tears due to constant laughing.

"It was all your trick, right." His face turned red due to anger as he sent daggers through his eyes. He clenched his fist and took deep breaths to control himself from going up and putting hands on her. She was a girl. He reminded himself. However, it still did not stop her from laughing. She basically made him a laughing stock and free amusement park for her. He couldn't help from getting furious with her actions.

Her laughter died down in her throat replacing it with a gasp of shock when he harshly grabbed her wrist and flipped the position quickly caging her on the handle of the car. He yanked her closer by her waist and pressed his body with her closing all the space between them.

"You don't get to do that to me. I am not a joker to be made fun by you. I won't tolerate such shitting behaviour from you. You need to know your limits, Isha." He warned her, his orbs were connected with hers in an intense eyelock. She could feel her heart racing with his close proximity. Her breath hitched feeling the warm breathe of him fanning over her face.

Hearing him, she composed herself shaking her head from thinking too much.

"I am not making fun of you. It's just small teasing. Don't be so serious." She stated casually. Raghav only gave her a look and left her.

"It's clear that you just lied about your car repairing. I don't know why you are doing these and what your intentions are. But I will suggest you to stay away from me." He had cold and hard look on his face as he spoke.

Just as he turned to go away, he felt a pull on his collar. Ishita was quick enough to hold the collar of his shirt and pulled him closer by his collar.

"Trust me, it's not easy to push me away. For now, let's go. We have to go somewhere. " She mentioned leaving his collar and crossed her hands over her chest.

"What the hell is your problem, lady? I am not going anywhere with you." He retorted, clearly pissed off with her.

"I have no problem. You have to go with me to a place and you will go." She stubbornly said shaking her head with a grin.

"What makes you think that I am going to listen to you?"

"Because if you don't go with me, I will do something that will land me in so much trouble." She had a mischievous glint on her eyes as she spoke.

"Do whatever you want. I don't care." He snapped at her irritatedly.

"So you think that you are the superior. But let me clear you one thing. You are not going to win in this way. I will prove you wrong at the end. Don't challenge me. " She confidently said while crossing her arms against her chest. He only ran his hand through his hair and looked at the ground releasing a gasp of air.

"Just go away, Isha. I don't care." He said and walked away from her. She again looked at his retreating back and smirked as a perfect plan entered in her evil brain.
