Jessica's POV  

I got a letter this morning saying that Ocean and Michael are trying to get visitation, so I'm going to see my lawyer about it today to see what I can do about stopping them.

"I'm sorry Mrs Thompson but whether you have custody or not. Michael and Ocean are still Duncan's parents and have rights to see him. You can't just refuse them. "But what about the restraining order we had put on Michael?"

"Your daughter had a restraining order but that's been lifted now she's living with him plus she's claiming she was forced into doing it by you"

"I did no such thing!! And even if the is order is lifted, he's still a violent drug addict and a papist and if she's living with him again she's probably on drugs as well! You really expect me to let them anywhere near Duncan!?" I snap "first off, they both take regular drug test voluntarily and they've all came up clean and Michael has professional and medical help for his anger and as for the rape, there's no evidence to prove that. Did she actually tell you that he did?" I shake my head at him "Well no, but you don't get internal damage like that for nothing! And what about Duncan? He was brought in for a broken arm for gods sake!"

"Which they claim was an accident and he fell off the sofa and Ocean has never made any reports against of Michael being violent to her in anyway"

"Well I still don't trust them around him" I shake my head "but like I said they are the child's  parents and they do have a right to see him. And their not asking for custody their only asking for visitation clearly you can't deny a child seeing their parents?"

Ocean's POV

"He should be here by now! He's said 2pm" I say anxiously fussing around the room and Michael places his hands on my shoulders trying to calm me. "Just relax! All this stress isn't good for you. And if Jason said he'd be here then he will!" He smiles pecking my lips. I'm about to speak when the door knocks and I hurry over to answer it.

"So what happened?" I ask the second he sits Jason sits down. "Well I was right. Jessica is trying to make it as difficult as possible and keeps bringing up the past erm. Incidents. But I've managed to get you both,  one hour visitation on Saturdays but There supervised and at Jessica's house"

"One hour!? that's it!?" Michael snaps "he's our son we need more than that and we don't need supervising. What the fuck does she think we're gonna do!?'

"I know that, but you have to show them your willing to compromise and being supervised will actually be a great chance for you two to show them your able to care for him"

"And how are we supposed to do that in just one hour?" I ask. "Well it's just one for now but gradually you build it up and eventually it won't be supervised any more and you can have him over night then soon enough you can go for custody again"

"And how long will that take?"

"It depends. You two keep doing what your doing going to work, the parenting classes, the drug test and all the rest and DJ will be back with you both in no time"

Sherri's POV

I'm sat in the living room and I hear Jessica come home slamming the door behind her. "Didn't go so well then?" I shout to her and She comes in and drops down on the sofa. "I have to give them a hour a week supervised visit" she says in annoyance "can you believe that!?"

"Well he is their child. I warned you they would do this but you wouldn't listen. Their not going to just let you take their child away without a fight. They'll do what ever it takes to get him back" she doesn't answer me for a moment and sits thinking. "What if they don't actually want him back?" I shake my confused "of course they do"

"Then why did they just ask for visitation huh? If they wanted Duncan then they would have tried for custody not visits. Maybe that's all they want just to see him every now and then" she smiles assuring herself  and I shake my head "if they go for custody now they won't get it, so of course all their gonna ask for is visitation!" I snap "maybe not, maybe they've finally realised how much better Duncan is with me" she smiles hopefully. "Well I've warned you" I shrug shaking my head.

Saturday:

Michael's POV

It's finally Saturday and Ocean and I head over to Jessica's house to see DJ. "Now remember be extra nice" Ocean says as we're walking towards the door. "I'm always nice" I smile and she smirks raising and eyebrow at me. "Your early" we hear Jessica say and we look up and see her at the window.  "Just open the door" Ocean rolls her eyes and Jessica  shakes her head "not until the social worker gets here" she smirks cockily. I open my mouth to say something but Ocean takes my my hand cutting me off. "Don't! she's just trying to get a rise out of you" she says softy. "Just remember, stay calm no matter what she says ok?" I nod and smile through pursed lips then pull her in close to me pecking her lips.

"hi! sorry I'm a little late"
we break away from each other and turn and see a woman walking over towards "hi, I'm Gabby the social worker"
We smile back at her and introduce ourself, then Jessica opens the door smiling the biggest fake smile I've ever seen her do. "Hey, there you two are! You didn't have to wait outside she smiles at us. I'm about to speak but Ocean cut me off "we thought it would be best to wait until Gabby got here" she fakes a smile back at Jessica. "Good idea! Best to always wait until I'm here" Gabby smiles at us to Jessica's annoyance.

As soon as we walk in the living room DJ see's us and comes over excitedly calling for us. And we run over to him and Ocean picks him up. Jessica offers us some drink but we just shake our heads ignoring her and continue playing with DJ. "Mommy and Daddy missed you so much!" Ocean coos. Even though I'm not looking at her I can feel Sherri staring daggers at from behind but I just ignore her. "And we brought some new stuff too!" I smile and we both sit down showing DJ the toys and clothes we got him

"Aww these are so cute! Gabby coos picking up a pair of shoes we got him"

"All these clothes look pretty expensive" Sherri mutters skeptically. "He's worth it" Ocean smiles then turns her attention back to us. "Oh wait, we can't have this one" Jessica says taking a teddy away from DJ and he gives her the biggest pissed off look I've ever seen from anybody. "It's says on the label 12months and over Duncan's only 11months he could choke on the eyes or something" she says in a concerned tone but just like her smile is completely fake. "So don't feed him eyes for lunch" I shrug sarcastically and hand the bear back to DJ who looks at her with a slight smirk. she about to speak but Gabby quickly cuts in "so his first birthdays next month! Must be exciting for you both" she smiles. "we don't celebrate birthdays we're Jehovah's Witnesses" Jessica smiles politely. "Me, Michael and DJ aren't" Ocean shrugs then turns to Gabby "with have his presents ready we just need a cake but we'll be getting it closer the time"

"So you two denounced your faith as well?" Sherri frowns. "Actually we were more shunned out for having DJ out of wedlock remember?" I frown "Duncan has never been shunned out. Everyone at Kingdom Hall loves Duncan" Jessica smiles."we'd appreciate it of you didn't take our son there. We don't feel comfortable with him going there" I say to Jessica and she's about to speak but Gabby cuts her off sensing the tension again "actually Mrs Thompson, as the parents,  if Ocean and Michael don't feel it's appropriate for you to teach their son about your religious beliefs then that does have to be respected"

"Of course" Jessica smiles through pursed lips still trying to act all caring and sweet. "But you can't just leave a child with no faith!" Sherri snaps. "We didn't come here for religious advice we came to spend time with our child so if you don't mind" Ocean smiles and DJ frowns making a growling sound at Sherri then turns to me and smiles opening his arms for me to pick him up and we carry on playing with DJ

"I think someone needs changing Ocean says picking him up. "I'll just take care of that for you" Jessica smiles walking over to take DJ. "It's fine me and Michael can do it" Ocean shrugs. "But if it's to much for just one of you..."

"It's not" I cut in "DJ likes it when Ocean and I change and bathe him together"

"Aww...  that's  sweet working as a team like that" Gabby smiles "that's fine" Jessica smiles and I can see she's getting pissed. "I'll just go upstairs and get you a diaper and stuff" she shrugs heading for the stairs "oh, that's ok" Ocean smiles opening her bag "we brought all that stuff with us"

Sherri's POV

After Michael and Ocean leave with the social worker Jessica drops down on the sofa annoyed. "Did you see the way they were sucking up to her!?" She frowns shaking her head. "They would never have done any of that stuff if a social worker hasn't been here"

"Says you! You had the biggest fake smile I've ever seen!" I frown "of course they were gonna be on their best behaviour because they want him back. I told you this already. The better they look I front of the social worker the better it looks for them. Clearly they've taken legal advise from someone" she shakes her head at me. "Well it won't last they'll show their true colours soon enough and that Gabby will see the real ocean and Michael you and I know, and next time DON'T argue with Michael! It makes us look petty"

"Me petty! I'm not going to sit their and pretend to be his best friend just because we have company!"

"Yes you will! When that social worker is here we need to show her how much better off Duncan is with me. So if we have to act like we love Michael and we're his best friend then that's what we do! Do you really think I wanted to be nice to either of them!? If I had it my way neither of them would have gotten through the door"

"Fine!" I sigh rolling my eyes not wanting to get in an argument "next Saturday I'll be on my best behaviour and won't say a word"
