Ocean's POV

As run down stairs downstairs for breakfast the phone in the hall start ringing. "Hello?" I answer but before the caller can speak my aunt grabs the phone from me "stop calling this number" she says sternly to who ever it was then hangs up. "Who was it?" I asked confused and she turns and smiles "just someone trying to sell things" I brush it off and head into the kitchen. I sit down and my mother brings me a plate then sits back next to my father without saying anything. "Is everything ok?" I ask trying to ease the tension in the room. "Everything's fine" my father says not looking up from his newspaper. It's been like this for days both my parents and my aunt have been acting strange and whenever I try to bring it up they just say 'everything's fine'

There's a knock at the door and my father quickly jumps up from his chair "I'll get it" I look at my mother confused. As soon as she heard the knock she looked worried. "Michael's here" my father says coming back into the kitchen followed my Michael. "You two should get going before your late" my mother stutters. Michael looks at me confused sensing the tension "did you aunt die or something" he whispers. I'm about to speak when Sherri walks in "sorry to disappoint you Michael, but I'm still very much alive and kicking!" She snaps joining my parents at the table. The phone rings "I'll get it" I say heading towards the phone and my father stops me "school now!" He snaps grabbing the phone before I can get to it.

We get in Michael's car and set off for school "what's wrong with you?" He asked glancing over at me. "My parents have been like this for days, and when ever I ask about it they just brush my off" I explain "they probably just had a fight, my parents do the same thing" Michael shrugs "they've had fights before but never for days like this" I say worriedly. Will pull up outside of the school and Michael stops the car and smile putting his arm around me. "parents fight all the time, They'll be fine" he reassures me then leans over and kisses me "quit worrying" he smiles getting out of the car the goes around to help me out the other side.

Michael's POV

Ocean seems in a much better mood since this morning. I know what it's like when your parents fight there's nothing you can do about it but stay out of the way. I see it all the time with Joseph and mother so I know if you try and help or get involved in any way it's just gonna make it worse.

"We're home" I laugh looking at Ocean who's been busy singing along to the radio all the way back. I'm about to walk her to her front door and our happy mood is quickly broken when my mother comes rushing over. "I've been calling you, why didn't answer" she says looking worried "we had to turn our phones of if class, is everything ok?" I ask "I should leave you guys to it" Ocean smiles turning to go home "actually" my mother says grabbing her arm "your parents ask if you could stay with us tonight, I've set up the guest room for you" she smiles thorough pursed lips and we can tell there's something she's not telling us "um, ok I'll just go take my stuff inside" Ocean says confused "you can borrow something from LaToya...best not disturb them" my mother says motioning us into the house.

We get inside and Ocean looks scared "what's going on?" She asks seeing Joseph and LaToya in the living room with the same expression as my mother "your parents are just having a little disagreement, it's nothing to worry about" LaToya smiles through pursed lips "has something happened?" I put my hands on her shoulders "they probably just don't want you listening to them fighting. You said yourself they'd didn't seem right. Maybe they just need to clear the air" I smile reassuring her "like Toya said its nothing to worry about, why don't take your stuff in my room and I'll bring us some snacks. She nods and heads up stairs.

I go in the kitchen and starts getting some snacks. As soon as I hear my door close I go back in the living room "what's really going on?" I asked knowing their hiding something. "Has Ocean ever mentioned the name Robert to you?" LaToya asks whispering so Ocean doesn't hear "yeah, he's her big brother" Joseph frown "her fag brother" I ignore Joseph's comment and turn back to LaToya "what does he have to do with anything?" My mother sighs "well I was over there earlier and..." I cut her off "is he there? Why didn't you say?" She shakes her head "because They don't want Ocean to know, he won't be there long" Joseph cuts if "and hopefully he won't be back, that family has a good reputation around here and their not gonna let this fag bring shame on their family again " I start heading towards the stairs "you can't tell her" mother says cutting me off at the stairs "she hasn't seen him in over a year,it'll brake her heart if she found out he was there and she didn't get to see him, she really misses him" I explain "she'll wanna see him" my mother takes my hand bringing me back downstairs "sweetie if she goes over there and see's them all fighting don't you think that will brake her heart more" LaToya comes over "mothers right, if it broke her heart the first time do you really wanna put her through all that pain again?" I shake my head "so we keep this to ourselves ok?" My mother smiles. I nod and go upstairs.

When I get upstairs Ocean is on my bed crying "their braking up aren't they?" I shake my head sitting next to her "their not breaking up, I promise" I wrap my arms around her pulling her close to me "it all makes sense now, the way they've you saw how tense it was between them and now they don't want me near the house, why else would they want me out of the way?" She sobs into my chest. I desperately want to tell her the truth I hate seeing her like this but LaToya is right it's just gonna break her heart. Even Joseph said their not gonna let him stick around. I'm about to speak and there's a knock at the door. "Do you mind keeping and eye on Janet?" Mother asks "LaToya has to go to work and your father and I have some errands to run we won't be long "

"Where's Randy? Can't he watch her?" I asks a bit annoyed she can clearly see Ocean crying. "Randy's at football practice"

"Fine" I sigh and she looks over at Ocean and smiles through pursed lips "everything will be much better in the morning" she says to her then leaves. "This is like Robert all over again" Ocean says looking at the ground "they wanted me out of the way when he left me. and now their doing the same thing" I pull he in close to me and kiss her temple "nobody's gonna leave you, your parents love you and they love each other" I explain "they just don't wanna upset you by fighting in front of you"  she pulls away from me slightly and kisses me softly and I kiss her back the same way. "Please don't ever leave me" I cup her face in my hands and wipe her  tears with my thumb "I love you and I swear, I'll never leave you" I kiss her again and pull her back into me "Michael?" She whispers into my ear "hm?" mumble still holding her close "will you make love to me?" I kiss he softly and nod. Then get up to lock the door so we're not disturbed.
