Oceans POV

It's my first day at my new school today and I'm super nervous. I'm started half way through the school year which makes things even worst since everyone is already gonna know each other. I turn on the radio and start picking my outfit for the day. I was singing and dancing along to the song while I picked out a pair of blue jeans,  and a white shirt. Mid dance my door knocks making me jump "Ocean, hurry up your gonna be late!"

"Coming!" I yell back. I go over and switch the radio off and get dressed.

Once I'm ready I head downstairs and see Michael and his brothers waiting in the hallway for me. "Hi" I smile greeting them. "Now you boys take good care of my baby girl ok?" My father says sternly. I look down feeling my cheeks burn "we'll take good care of her mr Thompson. I promise" Michael smiles then winks at me slightly making me blush even more.

We all walk to school talking. Their all so outgoing and really know how to make someone feel comfortable. As we're walking through the gates Marlon stops in his tracks looking over at a couple making out. "Let it go bro" Michael says putting his hand in his shoulder and I look at them confused.  "that Marlon's ex...she's a total slut" Randy turns to me and Michael looks at him and frowns "it's true" Marlon shrugs. The bell rings and we head inside. The others head to their rooms and Michael walks me to my class. "I'll wait here for you after class and take you to your next room" 

"thanks you really don't have to" I smile "I want to" he smiles back through pursed lips. I'm about to walk into the class and Michael grabs my arm lightly pulling me back to him "cute dance this morning" whispers into my ear then walks off leaving me blushing like crazy.

So far my first days been going great and Michael has been walking me to all my classes as he promised. It's now lunch time an we're all sat eating lunch. "So how's your first day going?" Michael asks "going good not as scary as I thought it would be. Everyone's been real nice"

"an so they should" he smiles and leans closer to me an puts his arm around my shoulder and I get a tingling feeling. He turns over to where Marlon is and He's arguing with the guy we saw earlier "I'll be right back" he rushes over and I look over and see what's going on. Michael is trying to pull Marlon away. Their on the other side of the cafeteria so I can't hear what the other guy said to him but seconds later Marlon punches him. They both charge at each other but the teachers manage to break them up before it explodes. "it's Ocean right?"

  "um, yeah do I know you?" I turn an see a boy standing at the table "I'm Tony, we're in maths together" he smiles "you sitting alone?" He asks sitting down next to me "um, actually" I begin and Michael, Marlon and Randy walk up behind me "she's sitting with us!" Marlon says coldly still pissed off about what just happened. Tony looks at him then gets up "sorry, I just hate to see a pretty girl sat alone at lunch" He smiles at me and Michael sits back down next to me "well she not alone" he snaps at him "well I guess we'll talk later" Tony says awkwardly and I smile at him as he walks off.  "can you believe that!" Randy chuckles "Like you'd be interested in a nerd like him" the bell rings and Michael gets up taking my hand "c'mon I'll walk you to your next class" he smiles and the moment his hand touches mine I get that tingly feeling again.

We're on our way home and as we get to our street  we see the boy from earlier "you have Got to be fucking kidding me!" Marlon snaps walking over to him "you didn't get enough earlier?" Marlon snaps at him and the boy walks over holding his hands up "look man, I didn't come here to fight, I just wanna make amends"

"too fucking late for that, Paul" Marlon hosses and pushes him knocking him to the floor and they start fighting. Michael, Randy and I struggle trying to break them up, then out of nowhere Joseph grabs Marlon by his collar and they both quickly stop fighting "get your ass in the house!" He snaps and drags him into the house and Randy follows them. "Our you ok?" Michael turns to me and I nod "mhm..what was all that about?" I ask and he rolls his eyes "Marlon was dating this girl Mary and she cheated on him with Paul, he an Marlon used to be friends, but after Mary, they go for each other every chance they get"

"she must have been special for them to be fighting over her like that"  

"she's nothing special" he shakes his head and giggles "she's very umm.."

"promiscuous?"

"I was gonna say slut, but your way sounds better" He shrugs and we both giggle then we hear screaming an yelling from Michael's "I should probably go" I smile through pursed lips and he nods an he pulls me in for a hug then  quickly breaks away and looks down looking slightly embarrassed "I'm sorry..I umm.." 

"it's ok" I smile and he looks back up smiling "really?" I nod "that felt kinda nice" I say shyly and he smile and pulls me in and we embrace once more before breaking away

I get into the house and my mother is standing in the hallway staring at me with her arms folded. "I saw that!" She frowns and I look at her confused "you and Michael! I saw what just happened" "Marlon was the one who was fighting not..."

"I'm not talking about that!" She cuts me off "I'm talking about you and that boy Michael! Do you have any idea what would have happened if your father or the neighbours would have saw the two of you like that!?"

"he was just giving me a hug that's all" I shrug not seeing the big deal "and Michael is the neighbour" I giggle trying to make light of it "this isn't funny Ocean! You weren't raised that way!"

"like what?" I look at her confused and She comes closer to me "we didn't raise you to act like a slut!" She frowns and I look at her shocked "I'm not a..."

"so you think allowing boys to touch you like that is ok? How many others have there been?" She cuts me off "nobody! And he wasn't touching me! It was just a hug nothing more"

"I don't ever wanna see you with that boy like that again do you understand?" She says sternly and I nod my head seeing how angry she's getting "c'mon is time for dinner...I think it's for the best we keep this to ourselves" she walks into the dining room and I follow still confused as to why she's so mad at me.

We're eating dinner and can hear yelling and crying from the Jackson's "serves him right, fighting in the street like that" my mother shrugs continuing to eat dinner "that boy attacked him, it wasn't..."

"it doesn't matter who started what! Their both to blame" She snaps at me then turns and smiles at my dad "so hunny how was your day?"

Michael's POV

We're all sat downstairs and can hear Marlon Yelping and crying and I can see the tears in my mothers eyes, she desperately wants to go up there just like we all do, but we know it's just gonna make it worse if we do. "It really wasn't his fault, Paul came here looking for a fight"

"I know sweetheart" my mother purses her lips and nods "but you know we have a reputation to uphold...what if the neighbours would have seen you boys fighting in the streets?"

"Ocean was there" I mumble and she puts her hand over her face and shakes her head embarrassed "but she knew the truth! She saw what Paul did...even at school he's been trying to start a fight with Marlon all day"

"well at least she knows the truth" she looks up at me and sighs "hopefully they won't think too badly of us"

"it was only Ocean that saw and I she doesn't think badly of us she not like that" I smile at her through pursed lips.

After a few more minutes we go silent hearing Joseph coming downstairs "you finally decided to come home huh?" he turns straight to me and I nod scared to say anything and He laughs under his breath sitting next to my mother "she's a pretty girl" he says and my mother looks at him confused "the new girl Ocean is it?" he turns back to me and I nod and he continues talking to mother "I saw him and her getting all cozy outside"

"really?" she looks over and smiles surprised "She's seems like such a nice girl"

"she is! She's really nice" I smile back and Joseph chuckles slightly under his breath "about time boy! We were starting to worry you were turning into a fag Or something!"

"you thought that?" I look at my mother confused and She shakes her head giggling "of course not sweetie"

"you'd be out on you ass if you were..same goes for the others" Joesph frowns at me and my mother rolls her eyes "Michael's just shy... And very picky about girls"

"well at least you don't go for just any random sluts! Those girls are nothing but trouble" he frowns looking up towards the stairs and I can hear Marlon crying "is it ok to go upstairs now? I have a lot of homework" I ask and Joseph turns to me and nods

I go upstairs and head straight to Marlon's room "you ok?" I walk over sitting beside him on the bed and he's holding his arm sobbing "I feel like my arms on fire!"

"maybe if we run it under some cold water it'll help" I suggest and Marlon nods and we tiptoe to the bathroom. He's running his arm under the tap and LaToya walks in quietly "I got you some ice" she smiles pursing her lips "probably best if you stay in your room the rest of the night...just try to keep out of his way, ok?" he nods sobbing while I'm holding the ice pack on his arm
