Mumbai

The commercial capital of India, it is also known as the city that never sleeps. It is the perfect blend of culture, customs, and lifestyles. Mumbai is India's most cosmopolitan city, the birthplace of Indian cinema, dotted with plenty of architectural landmarks from the Victorian era.

From poor to rich, you will find everyone located all over Mumbai in their respective societies. The lower middle class and poor living in Chawls typically have two to four-storeyed buildings that have single occupancy rooms next to each other on a particular floor, with a shared toilet on each floor and two exits on either side.

Upper-middle class living in flats, one story houses who are basically working in commercial markets and services. Then comes the riches, Bollywood stars, business, fashion, and top industrialists. This city has everything and the chase to earn money never ends.

There is love, hatred, crime, and happiness every family has its own issues which they rarely discuss.

Somewhere in Borivali East, there is a Galaxy Apartment. The 9th floor had a penthouse and one of them belonged to "Karan Virani and his beloved wife Nandini Virani". He own a popular restaurant in the town name "Bollywood Cafe" 15 years back and his wife was his sole support system in his life.

It was early morning and he was sitting in the balcony reading newspaper. He shouted "Nandu.. Chai kaha hai meri?"

"Laa rahi hun" Nandini shouts from the kitchen.

She prepared the tea while breakfast on the other gas. She was annoyed at her husband as he always give her orders but doesn't help her with the housework "bas subah uthte hi shuru ho jaata hai inka.. Ye nahi ki aake thodi madad hi karde biwi ki"

She places the tea mug and breakfast on the tray. She commences to the balcony and placed it on the tea table "lo.. Tumhara nashta" she said annoyed

Karan looked at her for a moment "What did I do?" he asked

Nandini smiled at him "kuch karte hi kaha ho tum.. Sab kuch mujhe hi karna padta hai" she said in sarcastic tone.

"Gussa kyun ho rahi ho?" He asked innocently

"Kyuki tum ek bhi kaam mein madad nahi karte ho meri.. Yahan ka saman idhar udhar karte rehte ho room bhi mess karke rakha hai tumne isse acha toh tum restaurant mein hi they" she scolded him.

"Ab isme meri kya galti hai? Zindagi bhar kaam kiya hai na maine ab mere aaram ka waqt hai" he said picking up the tea cup and continuing reading his newspaper.

Nandini hits her forehead "kuch nahi ho sakta hai inka.. Khud ghar mein baith gaye hai aur meri beti ko sab zimmedari saup di hai"

"Maine nahi saupi.. Usne khud li hai aur dekho jabse usne sab responsibility li hai hum kaha se kaha aa gaye hai" he said proudly.

"Wo sab toh thik hai lekin yashu ki ab umar ho chali hai shaadi ki uske baare mein socha hai aapne?" she questioned.

Karan smiles lightly "ho jayegi Nandu."

Nandini shook her head negatively "isne toh baat hi karna bekar hai ab mujhe Yashu se hi baat karni hogi" she moved back to the kitchen to complete her work.

Karan had a sigh of relief, he picked up his phone and texted his daughter "Home minister is on a new mission"

"Yashu.. Yashu" Nandini calls her out but there wasn't any response from her room. Nandini moved to the room and opened the door. The bed was empty, she looked at her wardrobe which was left half open. Her sandals were missing and she sighed in disappointment.

Karan smiled while reading the newspaper "1.. 2...3" he countdown as he knew what was going to happen next.

"Karan.. Karan aapki laadli abtak ghar nahi lauti hai! Bahut sare chada rakha hai tumne use.." she spoke and he repeated her words as this is usual in the house.

He paused when he found her standing in front of her crossing her arms across. He bits his tongue out and folds the newspaper. He picked up his phone and called his daughter but her phone wasn't reachable.

"Utha nahi rahi hai phone," he said in a low tone.

Nandini glared at him "ab toh iss ladki ke liye rishta dundhke rahungi main" she said and left.

Karan sighed deeply "God.. ye maa beti bhi na"

The doorbell rings, Karan got up and opened and rushed to open the door. He unlocked it and his daughter was standing in front of him.  She was Yashri Virani a girl 25 years old business woman. After her graduation, she took responsibility for her father's business on her shoulders.

She asked in a whispering tone "Home minister ka paara?"

"Bahut high hai" he replied

Yashri bits her tongue out, she made an innocent face and Karan gave her a look "no.." he refused.

"Please.." she requests.

"Okay.." he agreed. Yashri entered and removed her sandals. She quietly moved to her room and freshened up. After about 20 minutes she walked to the hall, and she saw her mother sitting on the couch and scrolling her phone.

Yashri smiled "Good morning maa.." she said

Nandini ignored her as she was angry at her for returning home at this hour. "Mother India.. You know right? Ek Sunday hi toh mujhe milta hai enjoy karne ke liye" Yashri spoke softly.

Nandini didn't reacted, Karan said "Nandini.. Gussa chodo na"

She turned to him and argued with him. Yashri got the chance and she hugged her mother from behind. Nandini tried to free herself "Yashu maar khayegi.. Chod" she said

"Nahi pehle bolo aap gussa nahi ho" Yashri replied tightening the grip around her neck.

"Acha thik hai nahi hun gussa chod ab' Nandini gave up and Yashri left her.

Nandini smiles lightly "ho gayi party?"

"Wo toh 2 baje hi khatam ho gayi thi lekin phir main bahut thak gayi toh wahi dost ke yahan ruk gayi subah hote hi aa gayi wapas" Yashri replied.

"Acha wo main kah rahi thi ki.." Nandini paused when Yashri glanced at her.

"Maa.. shaadi ki baat toh karna hi mat! I have a business to handle Dad.. kahiye na maa ko" Yashri spoke glancing at her father.

"Baat toh sahi hai Nandini.. Kitni badi responsibility hai" Karan said

"Mujhe kuch nahi sunna hai! Shaadi toh iss saal karake rahungi iss ladki ki" she declared and walked away from there.

Yashri made a face "Dad.."

"Home minister," he said helplessly.

Yashri's phone rings, she picked it up and asked "Yeah Dev.. what??" she gets shocked hearing him.

"Aisa kaise ho gaya? Oh God.. I am coming" she said and disconnected the call.

Karan questioned her "What happened?"

"Dad.. main restaurant jaa rahi hun see you in the evening" Yashri spoke. She left the house, Nandini shouted "Are yashu nashta toh karke jaa.." However, Yashri had already gone into the lift.

Nandini sighed deeply "ye ladki bhi na sunti nahi hai meri"

Bollywood Cafe

Yashri parked the car in her reserved parking. She walked into the restaurant, the manager had been waiting for her arrival. He looked at her tensely and she asked "Where is the head chef?"

"Mam.. actually hamare competitor unhone use humse better package offer kiya and he accepted it" he said

Yashri sighed in disappointment "aur tum kya kar rahe they jab ye sab hua? Pata hai na ek mahine ka notice dena padta hai chodne se pehle.."

"Mam actually notice usne diya tha lekin hamare kaafi admin staff chutti pe they festival ke chalte toh miss ho gaya humse" the manager informed him about the negligence by the team.

Yashri scolds him "ye sab aapki responsibility thi na? Jante hai aap competition kitna hai yahan pe? Mr. Dev aapki iss laparwahi ki wajah se pata hai kya hoga? Jabtak head chef nahi milta restaurant band rahega loss hoga aur sabse badi baat hamare staff ko ghar baithna padega"

"Nahi mam.. Aisa kuch nahi hoga baaki chef hai na jabtak humhe koi na koi toh mil hi jayega" The manager shared the backup plan with her.

Yashri takes a deep breath, she said "Fine.. Head chef ki unique dishes menu se abhi hatado"

She moved to her cabin and sat down on the chair. She was tensed as her head chef left the restaurant. Good quality and taste are something not every chef could give. "God kaha se lau naya head chef.. Aur same uss quality ka khana bana bhi payega wo?"
