Part Six - Pre-Date Nerves!

"So, what's bothering you then?" Kelsey asked as we sat down at a table hidden in the corner with our mugs on our hands.

"It's probably nothing, but Nathan asked me if he could take me on  date tonight...." I started, to which Kelsey just smiled at me.

"And? Is there a problem with that?" Kelsey chuckled.

"Does he already have a girlfriend?" I asked bluntly, just wanting to know if it was worth going on this date with Nathan, or if it was a waste of time because he was just going to leave me again as soon as he girlfriend came running back to him for more.

"They've been on and off with each other for so long now, that I really don't think there's anything left to even call a relationship. There is no love between the pair of them, only constant arguments and the pair of them annoying each other." Kelsey explained to me at the same time as she typed some reply to someone on her phone; I guess she was probably talking to Tom at the same time and I would hear about this from him later on.

"So, should I go on this date with him or not?" I questioned.

"Look, if he didn't want to go on a date with you, then he never would have asked you, so he obviously wants something from you. And we all know just how much you like Nathan, so you would be an idiot to turn him down." Kelsey grinned.

"You really think he likes me then?" I replied as a feeling of happiness began building up on the inside of me and there was something that I had never felt before.

It was the feeling that I was actually wanted by someone, and they didn't just want to use me for a one night stand, they actually want me. They wanted to be seen out with me, and they weren't afraid to tell people about it either because they wanted people to know that we were together. They actually liked me for who I was and they didn't want me to change.

I had never felt this feeling before, and I loved the way that I felt because it was absolutely amazing!

"From what I heard about last night, he definitely likes you. I hear he stopped you from going off with some other guy?" Kelsey chuckled.

"Yeah. He basically used his jealousy to stop me from disappearing with some guy. Shall we just say that me and Nathan both had an amazing time last night." I blushed slightly as I spoke, but I didn't really care, because it was the truth.

"I didn't need you to tell me that, Tom told me that he heard the two of you when he was trying to get out the back for a smoke." Kelsey replied before she burst out laughing, clearly finding it hilarious while I found it nothing more other than awkward that Tom had heard me and Nathan; but he had decided that he wasn't going to tell me that part when he text me this morning.

"Anyway, I need your help picking an outfit for the date. I've never been on a proper date, so I have no idea how to dress." I chuckled, quickly changing the subject to some much more appropriate and less awkward for me.

"Of course I'll help you. I'll make sure you look so irresistible that Nathan has no idea what has hit him." Kelsey replied.

"Are you sure this is the outfit?" I asked, checking myself in the mirror for about the fifth time since I had put it on.

"Trust me, Nathan will have a heart attack when he sees you dressed like that." Kelsey chuckled as she continued to style my hair so that it matched the outfit that I was wearing.

"I just, I don't know. I'm not sure that this is me, and I'm not sure Nathan is going to like it." I replied nervously.

It wasn't really something that I usually wore, because I was used to dressing to impress many different men, not just the one guy. And I didn't want to make it look like I was trying too hard to make him like me even more, when that wasn't the case.

I just wanted Nathan to realise that I had always liked him, and I had always just wanted for him to give a chance to prove that there was more to me than what he saw - I wasn't just some girl who threw herself at anyone and everyone. I did actually have a pretty decent personality, and I liked to think that I also had the sense of humour to go with that which meant that I was easy to get along with.

In fact, I just liked to think that I was good all round and there was more to like about me, other than most men I went with were guaranteed to get a cheap fuck from me.

"Are you nervous?" Kelsey laughed, stopping what she was doing for a minute to look at me.

"Ha. No. I don't get nervous about going on dates."

"Look, it's perfectly natural to be nervous, but I'm sure Nathan will think you look absolutely stunning tonight."

"I don't want-"

"Stop complaining. Will it make you feel better if you get a male opinion?" Kelsey smiled at me.

"Does that mean you'll ask Tom to come over and tell me what he thinks?" I chuckled slightly as Kelsey moved out of the way and allowed me to admire the work she had done with me; I loved the make-up and I loved my hair as well, which I was surprised with since I didn't like the outfit that she had picked for me to wear.

She had put my hair up into a messy bun, but it was my style and it was probably something that I would do myself; she had left my fringe out though and it hung down beside my face.

And the make-up was just a simple - light pink lip gloss, with a slight shine to it, extreme length mascara and she had even allowed me to borrow some of her 'Our Moment' perfume by One Direction.

"Yes Jess. If it makes you feel more comfortable, then I will ask Tom to come and tell you how gorgeous you look." Kelsey grinned as she took her phone from her pocket and began typing away to Tom; and I'm almost certain that he was going to tell me the same thing that Kelsey had told me because, as much as he flirted as well, he was also honest and told it how it was. "Tom said that he will be round in fifteen minutes. What time is Nathan coming to pick you up?"

"Half seven. So I've got half hour to change my mind if I still hate the outfit." I giggled, walking down the stairs and putting the kettle on in order to make a cup of tea; it was something that I always had to do before I went out anywhere.

"You and Nathan are meant to be. You're just as bad as he is when it comes to drinking tea."

"It just helps with everything, especially right now. I mean, I've waited so long for this to actually happen and, now that it has, all I can think about are the things that could go wrong tonight." I panicked.

"There's no need to panic. I promise that you and Nathan are going to have an amazing night together and, no matter what he has said before, he's always had a thing for you; he's just never wanted to admit it."

"Wow." was all I heard from behind me and Kelsey as we both turned around to see Tom stood there with a look of shock on his face, like he wasn't really sure what he was looking at. "Jess, you look amazing."

"Will you please tell her that Nathan is going to love her and, when he sees her, he is going to have a heart attack." Kelsey laughed, walking over to Tom and standing beside him, wrapping her arm around him and hugging him as they both carried on staring at me.

"Honestly, if Nathan doesn't bring you back here tonight and give you-"

"Yes, thank you Tom, I think we get the idea." Kelsey interrupted, not even allowing Tom to finish what he was saying because we both knew what he was going to say and it wasn't the best way that he could have put it.

"I was just saying. Trust me Jess, you look amazing." Tom smiled.

I still wasn't sure, but I wasn't going to argue anymore and I wasn't going to change my outfit either - I was wearing a Royal Blue Crystal Dipped Hem Dress which Kelsey had matched with my Ivory Lace Embellished High Heels and Stud Detail Clutch Bag; it wasn't something that I would usually wear but, for tonight, it was the best I was going to get and Nathan had better like it.

"Thanks Tom. Well, you two can go now." I replied, gesturing for the pair of them to leave.

"I'll see you tomorrow then. Half five, tomorrow morning?" Tom chuckled as he casually reminded me of the stupid time I was going to be awake tomorrow, just to make sure they were ready for their interview and then, I was going to have to ensure they got to the airport in the afternoon because they were off to America for a couple of weeks.

"Yes Parker. Half five tomorrow morning." I replied with a laugh before I looked at Kelsey and added, "I'll text you later and tell you how it went."

"Okay babe. I'll see you soon." Kelsey smiled before her and Tom walked out of my house, leaving me with just ten minute to prepare myself before Nathan got here.
