It's Over
I don't know what I'm doing here.. I thought I said that I'll be updating this book on every Tuesday. However, let's jump into the story....
" Sanku!"a girl yelled and ran towards them.
Sanskar turned around , he had a surprised look on his face when he heard that familiar, he smiled widely as he look at her.
"Gini?!"
That girl jumped on Sanskar, giving him a bone crushing hug.
Swara doesn't know why but she was feeling uneasy. She didn't like the proximity of them.
" I can't believe it,I'll meet you like this after so many years...I missed you a lot" Sanskar said still hugging her.
" Me too Sanku..." They kept chatting, and a certain girl was long forgotten.
" aren't they too clingy?"
Swara thought. The way she was looking at the girl, if looks could kill, she would be dead till now.
Few minutes later, which was like hours for Swara, that girl noticed her presence and asked
"Who is she Sanku?"
Stop calling him that you certified b*tch..
Swara internally gritted her teeth.
Sanskar smiled and placed his arm around Swara's waist " She's Swara, my girlfriend and Swara this is Ragini my childhood friend."
See she is just his friend. They are just childhood friends
Swara smiled at Ragini who returned her a bright smile.
"Wow congrats dude!!"Ragini chimed, again pulling him into a hug.
Friends my foot..
Swara just rolled her eyes.
Currently Swara was sitting on dining table, watching them talking with each other.
It is nothing.
He is just talking to her. Just talking.
Its fine. Its totally okay.
It doesn’t mean anything, just two friends having a conversation.
Yet, Swara can't help but feel a pang of jealousy shoot through her as she glanced at the pair in front her maybe the twentieth time in the last thirty seconds alone.
Sanskar was sitting with his arms lightly touching Ragini's shoulder as he leaned in to whisper something in her ears, the two of them seemingly too engrossed in their conversation to pay attention to anything else.
Swara can’t help but look over at them again.
She thinks it’s a little pathetic how she always has Sanskar on his mind and is the first person she searches for whenever she finds something hilarious. She turns to find Sanskar laughing so prettily, his eyes the shape of small crescents, his hands holding on to Ragini for support as he flings his body forward, almost falling to the ground, his body unable to contain his laughter.
She can feel the anger bubbling inside her as she watched Ragini's hands on Sanskar's neck their bodies close. Too close.
She sees red as she watches the two of them. She knows she is being obvious.
She knows that her palms curling into fists are a dead giveaway but at that moment everything else ceases to matter.
Something twitches in Swara , too much close to anger. She turns back around with a huff.
But she couldn't control her and walks over to Sanskar who looks surprised to see her making her way over to him. Swara manages a “Hello”, her voice devoid of any emotion.
“Ah! Swara! Come, sit. We were talking about how naughty we used be in childhood and pull pranks on our teachers”, Sanskar said laughing while looking at Ragini, “ Isn’t that funny ?”
“Very.” Swara replied dryly .
Sanskar face fell and the Ragini looked at him, a little scared.
"Sanskar come with me,I need to discuss something important with you" Swara said emphasizing the word.
Sanskar excused himself and the two of them walked over to Sanskar room.
Sanskar tried to wrap his arm around Swara to which she just puffed angrily and moved away.
“What has gotten into you? Why are you being so cold?” Sanskar whined.
“Nothing has gotten into me. Though from what it looked like tonight, Ragini can’t wait to be in you”. She knows she was being way too harsh, but the fact that Sanskar was so clueless made her even more angry.
“Why are you suddenly all over me now? Your so-called childhood friend tired of you already?”
Sanskar mouth fell open at her words. Sanskar got angry.
" Listen Swara I already told you SHE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A FRIEND"
Swara opened her mouth to protest but Sanskar cut her off, as he noticed Ragini looking at them in concern and confusion.
“Lets talk in the room...Please.”
Swara nodded and Sanskar gestured at her to follow him. He led them to his room.
Swara took a deep breath before starting. “Look. I-”
“You’re what? Sorry?. You know how much I love you and I already told you that Ragini is just a friend. You know how much she means to me and how close we are-”
“A bit too close” mumbled Swara
“-yet you have the audacity to say such vile things. Honestly? I’m done putting up with this shit."
Whatever retorted Swara had died in her throat when she finally registered what Sanskar implied. She was angry before but now she was terrified. Sanskar wants to end it?
“Wh-what at are you saying? You want out?”
Sanskar looked at her, chest heaving, barely able to hold back his tears.
"This relationship..being with you is supposed to make things easy. But now it’s just adding to my stress. I can’t take it anymore. I don’t want to be with someone who can think so low of me. Who can think that I am not a hundred percent loyal”
Swara gaped at him.
Dumbass. Dumbass. Dumbass.
Why can’t she just shut her mouth and control her feelings? Why does she have to take her anger out on Sanskar?
Swara, now absolutely horrified at where this conversation is going, tries to reel things back, “Baby-”
“No. You can’t just get away with this. You can’t keep hurting me and I can’t keep taking it. This is the first time, but it will be the last too. I’m done.” At this point Sanskar was openly crying, not even bothering to hide his tears anymore.
Swara gulps.
This is the end. This can’t be it.
“Listen. I messed up. I f*ck*d up big time. I know I keep doing this to you but I promise I’ll work on it. Come on, we’ll get through this. Its you and me.” Swara too is now trying to dry her eyes with the back of her hand. She refuses to accept its over because of some petty jealousy.
Sanskar wordlessly shakes his head no. He was crying so hard he can’t even bring himself to utter any words.
Swara feels like the ground beneath her was giving away. She doesn’t know what to say, what to do to make Sanskar stay.
She holds on to Sanskar and kisses him roughly, desperately, trying to pour in all her emotions into the kiss when words fail her.
Sanskar lets her kiss him. Lets her pull him closer, their tears mingling with each other’s, his tongue softly pressing against Swara's lips. He allows himself to enjoy it one last time.
Sanskar finally pulls away, expression blank. Swara looks at him with tears in her eyes, “Sanskar …please”
And Sanskar walks away from her....
