SUMMARY :

A lot of people like to say that opposites attract whereas others would say that people are more prone to seeing those they share much in common with. Phoebe Suarez would most definitely go with the latter. Opposites clash. They argue. They have differing personalities and ideals. It would just be a disaster waiting to happen. Or at least, that's her reasoning. Phoebe didn't have the patience to deal with those she didn't get "along" with or seemed to go against what she would do in a situation. She much preferred people that were a lot like her, or at least close enough. Her Mother would always scold her for getting into arguments with her siblings about something they said that she didn't necessarily agree with. "An open heart and mind is the greatest thing a person could have", her Mother would say before making her middle child apologize to her brother and sister for her 'outburst'.

Zack Taylor would absolutely agree with those that say opposites attract. I mean, come on, the guy just screams the trope of bad guy meets goody two shoes girl. Of course he would agree. The way he presents himself is something that Phoebe Suarez does not like. He seems too arrogant for her liking. And not to mention the fact that he loves pushing peoples buttons and getting in trouble for it.  Especially when it comes to people that caught his eye.

EXTRA INFO :

• I have a weak spot for bad boys on the outside, soft boys on in the inside calling their s/o's princess 😩

• There is a pattern with Phoebe and her siblings names.  Their Mother is an astronomer & teaches at a college a few miles out of Angel Grove.  She wanted to name her kids something related to outer space or after well known/unknown star names.

• Phoebe is a very opinionated girl & likes to follow the rules in her own way. She is like a goody-two-shoes but does make exceptions for certain things (like when she doesn't agree with a rule or order). She will make her voice known.

• ^ Her and Zack aren't different that much but whereas he's more of a laid back type of dude that just picks at people for no reason, Phoebe is the type to be more uptight about her responsibilities and doesn't like people who tease others for no reason. So that's where the two clash.

• Phoebe is the White Ranger. The crystal she found is clear, like a diamond

• She had just gotten into an argument with her Mother after she found out that Phoebe had received detention for questioning and talking back to her teacher, sending her to go take a walk so she could clear her head. It was only supposed to be 15 minutes but it ended up being an hour and a half & she ended up at the mine. She had just realized where she was walking and was going to turn around when she heard the explosion. She ran to go check it out and instead found some of her classmates arguing around the scene. Phoebe was in close enough proximity to Trini when the small cliff gave out and she ended up falling with her.

• ^ Phoebe really didn't care for what the others were doing there and just wanted to go home. Zack noticed how quiet she was and began to tease/pick on her like he does with Trini. They kind of go back in forth until Billy points out the glass (or whatever it is) that was uncovered from the rest of the rocks falling. When Zack begins to hack away at it, a clear crystal that was identical to the other ones they found had fallen at her feet and she picked it up.

• ^^ When the cops begin to make their way, Phoebe decides to book it with Jason & Billy, which they didn't really mind or notice much. Instead of Jason having Billy drive, he makes Phoebe drive so she has to climb over to the front to do it. She argues with Jason & says that it's his fault if they die as a result of this.

• ^^^ After they get hit by a train, Phoebe wakes up in her bedroom with a torn t-shirt and half burnt jeans. In her confused state, she opens her bedroom door and rips it off it's hinges. She nearly fainted at what she did and tries to put it back while changing out of her destroyed clothes and into some clean, new ones.

• Trini is the first person Phoebe sees when she walks into school after that weekend, pulling her aside to make sure she's not going insane and imagining all of this new found strength and being hit by a train only to wake up the next day with zero marks on her.

• ^ Trini is taken aback by Phoebe's approach to her but does affirm her worries and voices her experience. The both of them agree to meet up back at the mine to find out what's going on. (brotp !!!)

• ^^ She doesn't seek out the others tho

• After school,  Trini and Phoebe make their way to the mine and kinda freak out when they see the others so they make a run for it,  climbing up the hill/rocks and jumping over the large gap that separates the two cliffs.  Phoebe nearly shits herself when Billy falls over the edge after making it over.  But she quickly follows suit with the others as they begin to jump over after hearing Billy's exclamation.

• ^ Similar to what Zack had said about him being black,  Phoebe says "Oh, I'm white!" once she notices the color surround her in the water & Billy gives her this flabbergasted look,  the same one he gave to Zack.  It's just a really funny interaction.

• Phoebe is actually quite excited about the possibility of being in an alien space ship.  She's heard enough of her Mother's rantings about outer space and extraterrestrial live & to actually experience something of the sort before her Mother is just surreal.

• Alpha actually grabs Phoebe once the group realizes that something was going after them,  instead of him dragging Trini.  She tries to grab onto whatever she can as she gets dragged down the unfamiliar floor.  Zack tries to get Alpha to stop but we all know how that ends,  with him being thrown halfway across the ship by the AI.  Once the other reach where Phoebe is,  Trini hauls the girl up and pushes her behind her frame.

• ^ Once Alpha throws Zack back to the others,  he stands up and makes sure Phoebe and the others are behind him in a half-assed attempt to protect them.

• Poor Phoebe almost faints at the sight of Zordon.  There are so many thoughts running through her head that she can't even stand straight.  Zack actually notices this and tries to help her sit down but her stubborn ass isn't having it and refuses to sit.  He rolls his eyes at her and just throws his hands up in surrender before turning his attention back to Zordon.  Once Zordon announces that he wants them to try to stand up on the platforms,  Phoebe shakingly stumbles to them.  The force of wind doesn't help Phoebe's anxiety nor congestion in her head.

• When they meet at the ship again to start training,  Zack and Phoebe are both decked in black & white clothing,  which causes the rest to snicker at their unintentional matching.

• ^ "Are you trying to copy me Princess?" Zack asks.  Phoebe whips her head do heard towards where Zack his,  she could've gotten whiplash just from the force.  "Mm,  does that brush your ego?" she snaps back and that is what started the twos painful back and forth flirting & bickering.

• Phoebe excels at fighting the Putties but does struggle with taking them down and using her strength to do so.  Like,  she can keep up a fight with them but has trouble ending it.

• Phoebe's Zord is a velociraptor.  It's a bit small in size but that only helps with its speed,  since the extinct animal was known for its speed.  It's all white in color with some grey for the mechanics and stuff.  Since when they all combine together to make a really big Zord,  it's only five of them due to there being 2 legs & arms & 1 head.  So,  that leaves Phoebe out.  But when they others combine,  her Zord actually has the ability to increase in size and can take stronger hits without needing a break or going back a few meters.  She's basically on her own but she gains independence with that and her own advantages.  Phoebe doesn't mind since there actually wasn't a White Ranger to begin with.  Zordon & Alpha had recently made that ranger in order to have more numbers to go against Rita.

• ^ She nearly falls over when Alpha introduced them to their Zords just due to how large they are.

• ^^ She also almost smacks Zack when he decides to take his for a spin and nearly kills them.

• ^^^ She's actually proud of Billy for morphing for the first time but shoves Zack when he touches it and causes it to go away.

• Phoebe is the one to get attacked by Rita in the middle of the night

• ^ The first one she reaches out to is Zack. It was sort of something that she didn't even realize or think about until he was climbing up the tree next to her window and knocking against the glass to get in. He starts to fret over Phoebe's disheveled appearance, checking her over for any injuries. They hug for the first time and it's so sweet. Phoebe actually melts into the hug because she doesn't receive physical attention that much due to everyone in her family being busy as well as almost dying at the hands of their enemy. Zack is the one to tell the others about what happened.

• ^^ After they all meet up at the high schools football field, Zack refuses to leave Phoebe's side. He literally makes it an effort to run the same pace as her when they get to the docks.

• When Billy dies, Phoebe is a wreck. She's sobbing as she helps the others hoist and carry his body to the ship. She can barely stand without wobbling.

• ^ This is one of the moments that Zack and Phoebe actually embrace each other for a hug.  Zack saw how affected Phoebe was over Billy and he embraced her with out question.

• When Zordon brings Billy back to life, Phoebe embraces him like everyone else does.

• When they're instructed to go elevated things that allow them to morph for the first time,  Phoebe is directly across from Zack and the look in his eyes makes her heart melt.  At this point,  she's freaking out about the pearl White suit appearing out of nowhere onto her skin and how her feelings for Zack just hit her like a dumb truck

• ^ The suit is very pretty & when the sun hits it just right,  it lowkey looks iridescent.  Zack just can't stop looking at it because it looks so badass

• When they go fight the Putties,  Phoebe and Zack unconsciously team up and fight side by side,  each taking turns throwing the Putties around and having the other completely obliterate it.  It all looks so effortless when they fight,  the citizens can't help but watch in awe as they watch all of them fight.  Especially Phoebe and Zack because even tho they are complete polar opposites,  they just fit/work so well together.

• ^ When Rita and her gold monster begin to terrorize Angel Grove,  Phoebe kinda goes on her own due to what I mentioned earlier and the fact that she just naturally did it without having to think about it.  She manages to get a couple of good hits in until she's hit back a couple of feet by the gold monster.

• ^ Phoebe literally screams out and feels her heart get ripped out of her chest when she saw the others fall over into the pit.  She had just found her own makeshift family and they were killed by the stupid monster that she didn't even want to fight.  She gets ready to face off the monster alone once she's gathered herself and it starts to make its way towards her,  until the team erupts from the pit and uppercuts the monster.  She yelps and in joy and feels so relieved.

• ^^ She doesn't notice that her Zord increases in its size (it reaches the combined zord's hip where as if it was normal size,  it would be more by its knee) until Zach says something.  "Did you get bigger?" He asks as she settles by the bigger Zord's side.  Phoebe only looks at him (or tries to at least) in confusion and tries to get a better look at her Zord,  "Huh,  I guess I did".  OR she would say something like,  "What?  You intimidated (by its side?)".  Cue everyone else's laughter.

• When they defeat Rita and her monster,  Zack says the quote in the description after they get back to the ship and embrace each other.  Phoebe shakes her head and smiles but doesn't say anything,  walking away.  The Black Ranger runs after her after he sees he didn't get the response he wants,  teasing her.

• They do get together but it would be more like an extended version since the movie ends a little after they defeat Rita.  Throughout the book  everyone teases Phoebe and Zack about their little "relationship" they had so is expected of them to continue it once they find out that they finally got together.

• Also,  Phoebe regularly is never home most times so it's not abnormal for her to stay at a friends house or leave the house before everyone leaves & come back before they all wake up and be gone for a couple of days.  Her parents don't really bother to ask her about where's she's been,  until they see her bruises and kinda freaks out.  She just tells them that she joined a boxing team/club to busy herself & "release" her anger/frustration.  Her younger brother doesn't believe her bullshit and finds out that she's the White Ranger after watching a video of her fighting & getting sucker punched in the face,  Phoebe coming home with a bruise on the same side.  Plus,  he has great intimidation skills that she immediately knows what's up and just gives in,  I mean he found out on his known so it's technically not her fault if Zordon ever tries to give her shit for it.  He finds out at the end when she gets home from the fight.  Orion is literally just sitting there in their fathers recliner,  waiting for her to come home.

• ^ "Ah,  I've seen you finally came home,  dear sister.". Phoebe nearly shits her pants when she sees him just sitting there,  in the dark with the lamp light only lighting up half of his face.  Orion genuinely loves picking as his sisters buttons and threatens to tell people about it but he would never.

• ^^ Orion Suarez is 100% a White Ranger enthusiast & regularly defends her on the internet and all social media platforms.  He even has a fan account for shits and gigs but genuinely can't stop from enjoying it.  Also gives Phoebe hella shit for her new "occupation".

• ^^^ The other Rangers kinda freak out when they see Orion trailing behind Phoebe before their training session.  Billy literally screams and tries to convince Orion that he doesn't see anything.  Once Phoebe explains what's up,  they actually start to adore Orion and look forward to his commentary on their trainings and he's kinda like a breath of fresh air and they really need that.
