SUMMARY :

Neoma Hawkins wasn't always considered the weird girl at school.  Before the accident,  she was extremely popular,  had tons of friends,  top of all of her classes,  and was on her way to valedictorian.  She had everything together and it all seemed to go so well.  Until she was riding her bike home after school and got hit by a drunk driver,  killing her.  Neoma was announced deceased once the paramedics had reached the scene,  preparing her body for gurney.  The young girl sprang up with a horrifying gasp and a horrendous coughing fit.  Everyone on scene rushed to aid Neoma in her injuries,  only to find minimal bruising and scrapes when only moments before she had her bones protruding from her skin and severe bleeding on the internal and external parts of her body.  After that,  Neoma Hawkins changed.  She tended to zone out more.  Wake up in the middle of the night from awful night terrors.  Layer on clothes because she was always cold.  Gaps in her memory caused her to be forgetful most of the time.  And she even began to whisper to herself at times,  receiving concerned stares from peers.

Neoma began to see things.  Or,  rather a singular thing.  It followed her everywhere she went.  When she left for school,  it sat in the back seat of her car,  right in the middle of her rearview mirror so she could see it at all times.  It lingered by the shower curtain when she showered.  It stood in front of the classroom during school hours and watched as she did whatever the teacher ordered her to do so.  It whispered inaudible things into her ear as she laid in bed,  unable to sleep.  It never left and it didn't seem like it would anytime soon.  Neoma felt like she was haunted and couldn't understand why.  Was this some sort of punishment by "God"?  What did she do to deserve this?  Was the universe playing a joke on her and It would go away with medication?  Did she develop schizophrenia?  So many questions bustled through Neoma Hawkins head.  And she would eventually get her answer.

During her second semester of her freshman year at Midtown High School,  Neoma Hawkins didn't discover what It was but she did discover other things she could do rather than just seeing the thing she always saw.  She could move things without touching them,  "astral project" into the Other Side, walk through solid objects with ease, blip to one side of the room to the next town over within a flap of a butterfly's wings,  will herself to be invisible to the naked eye, and levitate herself all the way to her bedroom ceiling. Neoma didn't even mean to discover what she did, but Spider-Man did.

EXTRA INFO :

• This heavily inspired by my "Danny Phantom" plot lol

• Both Neoma & Jasmine are adopted by Isabella & Devyn.  Isabella & Devyn didn't want biological children so they decided to adopt.

• Referencing to Spider-Man making Neoma discover her abilities. Basically during a threat, he had swung a bit too low and almost hit her, causing her to freak out and back up into a restaurant, causing her to go straight through its walls and fall onto the hardwood floor. Spider-Man scarring Neoma basically made her body go into flight or fight mode and triggered her intangibility. He didn't mean to scare her but it happened and it lead to her discovery of what might be going on with her.

• She doesn't really become a "hero" per say. She fits more of the "I'm bored and don't have anything to do so why don't I put my new found superpowers to use" trope.

• Jasmine is the eldest of the two. She is born before Neoma and was adopted before her, like a year or so for both.

• She doesn't meet her friends, Benjamin, Melody, Samuel, and Judas for a while until they all stumble upon her while she's "fighting" crime. She's heavily injured and they gently throw her into the back of one of their cars and attended to her injuries. She woke up in one of their rooms and freaks the fuck out, phasing through the floor and falling straight onto the floor below the room she was previously in.

• ^ Benjamin is a HUGE fan of the "Phantom" (Neoma's 'hero' alias). So he literally screams when she phases through the floor and bounds down the steps on the stairs and practically yanks her up from the floor and is literal millimeters from her face.

• ^^ "Oh. My. God. You're the Phantom! Like, you're actually standing in front of me. Alive and breathing! Oh my god. Oh, can I get your autograph?! I love your work."
Neoma: 🧍🏻‍♀️ "ummm..."
Melody: "Benjamin! You're scaring the poor girl with your fangirling!"

• ^^^ They know her identity and offer to be her crew of "helpers". Like, the ones that track down crime, give all the details to Neoma, & the ones that are talking to her through an ear piece. Basically behind the scenes people.  Benjamin likes to call them "Phantom Incorporation" or "Phantom Co."

• ^^^^ Benjamin is the designated designer of any and all of Phantoms costumes/suits.  He makes extras in case one needs to be washed or it gets seriously tattered.  Samuel and Judas as the guys behind the screen.  They monitor police calls,  alarms set off by store owners or bank tellers,  and communicate with Neoma in her ear piece.  They're basically the tech savy guys. & Melody is the weapons expert (if she has/needs any) as well as a mix of everything.  She's very versatile so one of them could need help and she'll be able to do it.

• Phantom causes Spider-Man literal stress.  Like,  she'll obviously get there before him & he quite literally throws a fit about it.  Neoma likes to watch him pout about it bc she thinks it's hilarious. 

• ^ At times,  she'll purposely wait after she's either beaten the bad guys unconscious or scared them off just to see Spider-Man's reaction.  Or she'll show up a little bit later than usual so he can watch her take the guys down all by herself and tease him about how she left at a later time and still managed to beat Spider-Man to the punch and safely handle the bad guys.

• ^^ Peter literally goes and whines about this to Tony and Ned.  So,  Tony decides to track down whoever is the Phantom.  He does it and pulls a Spider-Man: Homecoming where he sat down with Aunt May and talked with her.  Tony Stark sits both of Neoma's Mothers down and begins the fabricated lie of his internship that he's offering top students across the US.  Neoma quite literally shits her pants when she sees the Tony Stark casually sitting in her living room with both of her parents laughing.

• ^^^ He does try to find her suit but she usually keeps it at Ben's house because they all need to be perfect at all times.  He offers her to join his soon-to-be growing mini Avengers team.  Neoma,  at first,  laughs to play it all off.  But when she realizes he's not joking and doesn't know what to say.  Eventually,  she convinced him to allow the other part of Phantom Incorporation to also join,  because they're a team.  He hesitantly obliges and then leave like nothing happened.  It's safe to say that Neoma and Co. respectively freaked the fuck out after she broke the news to the others.

• Bruce does do some tests on her just to figure out how and why she developed these powers after being declared dead for 15 minutes.  That sort of leads to a dead end so he decides to investigate her biological parents stuff and her adoption records.

• ^ A lot like the video game, Beyond Two Souls, Neoma was born as a twin (her adoptive parents didn't know because the bio Mom wanted it to not be included in her potential adoption papers).  But,  her twin had its umbilical cord wrapped around its neck when they were born and the doctors were too late to take it off and revive them.  As Neoma grew up and was adopted,  the spirit of that twin followed Neoma around until she got hit by a car.  The spirit was somehow able to merge its soul with Neoma's and "resurrect" her.  Since she's not technically alive but not technically dead,  she's sort of in this constant state of limbo and is able to switch in and out of that state,  which is where her new found abilities come into play.  She's a lot like Danny Phantom and is able to switch between human and "spirit" form.

• ^^ She is speechless when Bruce explains this all.  She needs time to process all of this.

• ^^^ So she figures out that that figure that she always sees is the figure/fragment of her twin.  Even tho they technically share a soul and perhaps a body,  the spirit twin is never in control and only makes the "shifting" easier for Neoma.  They also gave her all these abilities when they merged.  They can't communicate with each other because Neoma isn't at the stage of power yet but she definitely plans on talking to them someday.  She's determined to figure out a way.

• Peter immediately feels bad about pushing Tony to recruit Neoma.  He wished she didn't have to find out about her birth like that.  So,  he decides to make it up to her by trying to befriend her and show her the ropes of the Avengers and what life is like as an "official" superhero.  Through this,  they spend a lot of time together and end up developing more than just friendly feelings towards one another.

• This can 100% go into the other movies (Infinity War,  Endgame,  etc.) if the future author decides to.  I would prefer it if Thanos didn't exist and didn't wipe out half the population and that the Avengers were able to stop him before he snapped.

• They will get together later on.  The future author can totally decide where their story will lead them.  Everything that I explained was like their lead up to becoming a couple & background.
