SUMMARY :

With being an Eternal on Earth for thousands of years, it was bound for humans to fabricate intricate fairytales about those who were sent to protect them, with the aid of Sprite obviously. The story of the Zeus sprouting from his Fathers stomach after swallowing him and his brothers had been a dramatic retelling of Rhea's breakdown and the Eternals restraining her. Arishem had made a flaw while creating the eleventh Eternal, or so some thought. Rhea had always struggled with containing big, complexed emotions. Anything and everything seemed to set her off when she was on edge, the Earth nearly shattering at her fingertips. With her ability to control all Earthly substances and her struggle to keep her emotions in check, a lot of damage happened when it all became too much for Rhea. The ground would spilt open, tsunami's flooded newly built civilizations, hurricanes sprouted out from nowhere, and volcanoes erupted and burned whole islands up. Everyone seemed to walk on eggshells around Rhea, all but one.

Kingo practically praised the ground Rhea walks on, getting on his hands and knees to kiss the Earth as if it was being blessed simply by her feet gracing the soft dirt. He never seemed to care that others thought she was unstable or made different from his fellow Eternals. He always took the time to listen to her. To listen to the thoughts that were running through her head. To listen to her ramble about her emotions. He never seemed to mind how gently the Earth shook when she spoke about her feelings or how the wind seemed to match with her breathing. Kingo could listen to her go on for hours about how trapped she felt within her own body and comfort her whenever her voice shook with teary eyes. Kingo made Rhea feel heard and safe unlike the others where she felt disregarded and unseen. Eventually, their friendship has bloomed into something more and Rhea finally had a grasp on her emotions and how to deal with them. Until centuries passed and Kingo left her and Sprite in the middle of a developing Scotland, resulting in Rhea going back to her cold and lonely days.

EXTRA INFO :

• I 100% want this to be canon: Druig & Rhea have a brother-sister relationship & treat each other as such. They're such an angsty duo together it's ridiculous but they know that they can confine in one another when they need to.

• ^ As well as Thena, expect that they're actually related (like Arishem created them from the same clay or something). I think this head canon would work really well if Kate Siegel is kept as the FC, they look a lot alike & they're characters are similar, especially after Thena develops Mahd Wy'ry.

• Rhea uses her cosmic energy manipulation to control the planets substances like the actual Earth (most used), weather (sometimes), nature, and natural/organic elements. She's considered the most powerful/strongest Eternal due to being able to literally control the whole planet. She can summon an earthquake with just a snap of her fingers.

• ^ Her powers can stretch as far as being able to control any and all planets, with enough practice of course.

• The story about Kronos & the Big Three refer to Rhea (Zeus) breaking free from Phastos' (Kronos) restraint & the others trying to put Rhea back down. Sprite dramatically retold it and made up new names for each Eternal that was involve in the fight. (Rhea=Zeus, Phastos=Kronos/Chronos, Ikaris=Poseidon, Druig=Hades)

• ^ Yes, Rhea's name refers to the Titaness

• No one really knows why Rhea can't control her emotions. Phastos suggests it's due to due having such strong powers and a connection a Earth that the cosmic energy inside her needs to have some release so her emotions leads to that release. Ikaris (him being the dick he is) thinks it's because she's defaulty & that Arishem had made a mistake while creating her, which results in Thena kicking his ass. Ajak thinks it's because of how big Rhea's emotions are that she can't handle them sometimes which leads to catastrophic things.

• When Thena developed Mahd Wy'ry, Rhea was devastated. She had to try really hard to keep her emotions in check in order to not further cause any more chaos due to what was occurring outside. It pained her to see her sister (or sister figure) look so cold and lost. So defeated. It didn't look like Thena at all.

• Kingo is absolutely smitten with Rhea & she can do no wrong in his eyes

• Rhea & Kingo's relationship starts really slow due to her trying to get her emotions in check but as she gets used to him listening to her (willingly btw) they progress. Rhea thanks Kingo for him helping her understand her emotions a lot better. Although it was mostly Rhea who did the work to truly grasp her emotions, Kingo (as Kingo does) takes some credit. They get together wayyyyyyy before the Eternals went their separate ways. They take Sprite with them and Rhea didn't mind moving every 5 years or so because she was always with Kingo so she didn't mind. But when he left out of the blue, she literally lost it. Thats when the Earthquake of 1906 happened in San Francisco. It spread all the way from Scotland to SF, impacting SF more so.

• ^ Rhea was so heartbroken that every other day something happened, whether that be an earthquake, a hurricane, trees sprouting up in the middle of the desert, or wildfires. Sprite had decided that it would be best for her to leave due to the uncertainty of Rhea, which Rhea understood but still didn't want anyone to leave her. Sprite, regrettably, still left.

• ^^ Rhea had hidden herself away deep in the Scotland mountains for centuries until she managed to keep her emotions so buried deep inside that she just felt numb. She developed a cold exterior and didn't let anyone in.

• ^^^ During her time in Scotland, she worked on a farm (like Ajak's) & she mostly worked with the animals & helped keep up with their gardens.  She even adopted some of the animals from the farm and started a small one of her own,  which the farm owner had decided to conjoin their farms.

• Rhea was one of the first Eternals Sersi had wanted to recruit first.  But Ikaris suggested against it,  wanting her to be one of the last so she didn't have a choice to say no due to the little days they would have left (I know, evil right).  Sersi doesn't like this plan but she's so overwhelmed with all of the information she's trying to absorb so she agrees.

• ^ They end up going to get Rhea after getting Druig and Gilgamesh's death.  She dismisses the group when she comes back from an errand,  seeing them on her porch.  She refuses to listen to what they have to say,  especially when she sees Kingo in the mix,  being his egotistical self.  The group decides to have Druig &/or Sersi talk to Rhea alone.  They know that Druig & Rhea have a connection & that she'll listen to him,  Sersi is there to further explain what's happening.  She hesitantly agrees,  leaving a message to her job that she's leaving for a family emergency & that she won't be back until further notice & to watch over the current animals on her land.

• Rhea refuses to talk to anyone but Thena & Druig while on Kingo's private jet.  & of course,  Kingo pouts when he tries to talk to Rhea but gets nothing in response.  He does try to talk to her about what happened but Rhea's having none of it.

• Rhea & Makkari were pretty good friends & back in the day,  Makkari taught Rhea ASL.

• Rhea absolutely loses her shit when Ikaris attacks Makkari but hits Kingo when he gets in the way.

• ^ She always had a feeling about Ikaris doing something to Ajak.  & when it comes to the light that he actually killed her,  Rhea breaks but no earthquakes are anything happens.  Which freaks everyone out when she blankly stares at Ikaris before charging at him.  Druig catches her and keeps her back as Ikaris rambled on about how the Emergence has to happen.

• ^^ Kingo does leave but before he can exit the Domo,  Rhea catches him by the arm and they do have a heart to heart.  Kingo left because he was impulsive and way into over his head.  He was happy with where he was but he wanted something different and was tired of moving to and from place to place.  Rhea does yell at him for leaving her & for putting her through so many years of loneliness.  They do makeup but don't get back together due to being apart for so long,  deciding to get to know each other again once Rhea comes back from the Emergence.

• The plan was to have Rhea tag along with Makkari, Druig, & Sersi during the Uni-Mind & control the tectonic plates or actual Earth to slow down the process of Tiamut waking up. Once the Uni-Mind was completed & finish, Rhea was tasked with putting whatever amount of Tiamut was exposed from the Earth back into the core. But, Ikaris stops this all from happening by disrupting the Uni-Mind.

• Rhea loses her shit on Ikaris when he blasts Druig into the mountain side & 'killed' him

• ^ She creates a sink hole for him to fall into & traps him there while Makkari speeds around kicking the absolute shit out of him. She also helps Phastos restrain him & as they do so, sand and other debris begin to circle and fly around Rhea as she gets caught up in her emotions. She's so angered at the fact that Ikaris betrayed them all & had the nerve to kill two Eternals she held dear to her heart. She was angry at his cowardice & began to throw verbal insults at him as he struggled to break free from Phastos restraints. When he does break free though, he blasts Rhea away with his laser eyes and she's thrown back into a large rock.

• When the Uni-Mind does occur, Rhea couldn't have felt more relieved. She embraces Thena afterwards, knowing that she had to face the Deviant that killed Gilgamesh alone. They do do the little forehead touching thing because I think it's a known thing amongst the Eternals that when one does that, it's a sign of affection or reassurance.

• ^ Druig & her don't embrace but they do acknowledge each other and reach out to grasp each other's forearms as they're holding Makkari and Thena in the other arm.

• Rhea does plan to stay on Earth while Makkari, Druig, and Thena explore the galaxy for other Eternals like them to warn them about the possible Emergence of their planet. She doesn't go back to Scotland but instead decides to tag along with Kingo & Sprite. The both of them are ecstatic to have Rhea join them. It's sort of bittersweet because now they can sort of be a real family but with separated parents trying to work out their relationship.

• ^ It's a very tearful goodbye when Rhea bids her farewells to Phastos, Makkari, Druig, Thena, & Sersi. It was hard for her to get back into the game and then have to quickly leave it once again. She held onto Makkari, Druig, & Thena a little bit longer than the rest. She would truly and deeply miss those 3 while they explored whatever was left of their 'species'.

• ^^ When Arishem arrives and quite literally plucks Sersi, Phastos, Kingo, & her from Earth, everything within her shakes. She's never really seen her creator up close but when the fate of Earth lies within their hands now, it's quite never raking. The nearby planets sort of jiggle/shake in Rhea's nervousness as Arishem speaks to them.

• Rhea & Kingo are currently fixing their relationship!! Please don't have them jump right into being a couple again. Shit happened & hearts were broken. They need time to fix it & get reacquainted with one another. They will get back together in the future!!
