SUMMARY :

Death and honor seemed to be the only thing of importance in her family. Coming from a family of highly respected military soldiers, Amara Johnson was expected of the same as the others that had came before her. Her Grandfather bravely fought in World War One shortly after graduating high school. Her Father briefly fought in Vietnam before being critically injured and released from duty. Her eldest sister enlisted in the same war as her Father, coming back home in a body bag with her dog tags still securely around her dirtied neck. All eyes turned to the youngest Johnson when she turned of age to enlist into the military, watching her every move and calculating each decision she made. After the unfortunate death of her sister, Amara felt like she had to what her Grandfather and Father wanted. What the rest of the world wanted. So, the day she was going to enlist was the day she ran away from home. The young girl couldn't handle the pressure nor the fear of entering a battle field to fight a war that most likely isn't hers to fight. She didn't want to end up like her Father, disabled, or her Grandfather, riddled with PTSD and night terrors, or her sister, six feet under. She did the only logical thing she could think of during that time, run.

Amara Johnson is not a fighter. Well, not a physical one at least. She couldn't even hurt a fly. So she didn't understand why the weight of having to join the military and fight wars and kill people was something that was put onto her by her family. Nor did she understand two men by the names of Erik Lehnsherr and Charles Xavier wanted her to join this program of theirs that helped people like her. Well, of course she knew why but she didn't know why they specifically wanted her or her mutation. That was another thing she had taken into consideration when whether or not she wanted to join the military. She was a mutant and up until then, she thought she was the only one that was different from the rest of her peers. She didn't want to be treated like a lab rat to the US government once they found out her difference. She lived in constant fear and worry. But once she met Sean Cassidy after agreeing to Charles Xavier's terms, she found something else to live for.

EXTRA INFO :

• The Johnson family is heavily inspired by the Johnson's in the series SHIELD/Agents of SHIELD. They are a mutation family but only a handful of them are really mutants, which is rare.

• ^ Her Great-Grandfather was a mutant and so was her sister. Daisy is inspired by Daisy Johnson from Agents of Shield and has the same abilities as her.

• ^^ Daisy died in combat and knew of her mutation but never told anyone. So Amara doesn't know, which leads her to think that she's the only one in her family that's a mutant. She also wears her sisters dog tags 24/7 and doesn't take it off, even to shower. It reminds her that she'll always be there in spirit.

• Amara's mutation is Vibration Manipulation & is one of the only mutations that is passed down. Her, her Great-Grandfather, and sister all had the same mutation.

• She's recruited by Charles & Erik when's she's getting ready to leave another town.  She jumps from place to place every so often so someone doesn't report her once they realize that she's a missing person

• ^ This made it a pain in the ass to try to track her down and actually meet her. But Charles and Erik manage to get to her in time.

• ^^ She does join but makes it known to the others that she's not a fighter and never really had control of her powers due to not using them a lot

• When she meets the group, everyone is so understanding & inclusive. They don't really ask her why she's super quiet or seems to be skiddish when they ask about their mutations.

• ^ She isn't really too confident about displaying her powers but she does it anyway. She does a really simple move that she's done a million times before. Amara puts her hand out to her glass in front of her on the table. Vibrations come out of her hand (like Daisy from Agents of SHIELD) and it shatters the glass cup. Everyone claps and hollers, Raven yelling out, "Quake!". Since then, everyone uses Quake as her super alias.

• Alex actually calms Amara for some reason. He reminds her of a gentle giant and is always aware of his surroundings and what he's doing. They're the best BROTP ong. He makes sure that all this mutant talk doesn't go too far because he can understand being the only mutant (currently) in a family and how much anxiety that can produce.

• Amara is an absolute wreck when Shaw and his crew come to recruit the others. She can't really control her powers when she's under severe stress/trauma so when she puts her hands up to block Azizel from attacking any of them, pulses of vibrations come out and send him flying back into the wall. Shaw definitely wants Amara on her team but she doesn't join. She tries to stop Angel from leaving but it doesn't work. When Shaw kills Darwin, Amara let's out a huge pulse unknowingly towards Shaw & hits him as they're mid teleportation, which he doesn't absorb & that makes him have a vendetta against her.

• Training isn't too bad but it's more mental for her due to her inability to control her mutation when she feels strong emotions. It's taxing on her body so whenever Amara isn't training, she's either sleeping, eating, or walking around Charles' mansion. You can also find her talking to Charles, Alex, and/or Sean, mostly Alex tho.

• ^ Charles puts Sean and Amara together for training because their powers are somewhat the same. He wants to see if Amara can send out any vibrations/pulses through her throat like Sean or if she can use it anything other way. Training with Sean really helps her hone in on her abilities and improves it all around.

• Alex likes to tease both Amara and Sean about their awkward interactions and lingering gazes whenever he's around one of them. He mostly gives Sean a ton of shit for it. He's lowkey actively trying to set the two of them up and Charles is also in on it lol

• The conversations Amara and Sean have are really heartfelt and easy to continue.  They just have really good chemistry and their conversations never die out and go silent unless they want to.

• Amara heart breaks when she sees Hank all changed.  She didn't know how much he wanted to cure himself and hated how he looked.  She embraced him before they went on the jet,  already welcoming his new appearance.

• When the jet begins to crash,  Amara has a death grip on Sean's pale hand.  He's smiling the whole time too.  He's so whipped omg.  When Alex's notices,  he chuckles shakingly and shakes his head while trying to keep a grip on his seat so he doesn't go flying and whispers,  "Simp".  Sean Cassidy is a 100% loud and proud Amara Johnson simp + enthusiast 😮‍💨

• Amara is a badass when Azezel teleports her,  Hank,  and Alex onto one of the ships.  She had grabbed onto Alex to stop him from getting to Azezel but it only resulted in her falling onto a ship 10 feet from the air.  She literally takes on most of the soldiers on the ship and practically blows them into the water (hehe).  Her and Alex are quite a duo and take down the ship with ease.

• ^ Sean is only able to take and hold onto Alex as they fly towards the island where Charles and them are.  So Amara pulls a Daisy Johnson and blasts herself into the sky,  she lands a little shakingly but effectively creates a crater into the sand and pushes Shaw's group back a bit from the impact.  Sean literally melts into a heap of ginger (lol).  His crush is so badass and literally will get onto his hands and knees to kiss the ground she walks on and will happily do so.

• Amara didn't really get to know Erik throughout her stay at Xavier's mansion but she still felt great sympathy for the man when Charles explained his story to her.  So when he came hovering out with Shaw's body floating in the air with his assistance,  she can understand why he did what he did.  The man purposely killed his Mother in order to get a reaction of him,  to see the effects of his mutation.

• A loud gasp escaped Amara's mouth when she sees Erik manipulate Moira's bullet away from him and hit Charles in his lower back.  She knew the outcome wasn't going to be good.  She grasps Sean's hand as everything starts to go down.  The result goes in a blur and the next thing she knows,  Erik and Raven are gone and Charles is saying that he can't feel his legs.

• SEAN CASSIDY DOES NOT DIE!!!

• The two do get together a while after the events at the beach.  Alex,  quite literally,  claps Sean on the back and pretends to wipe a tear away from his eye while saying,  "They grow up so fast".  To which Amara flicks him on the forehead for.

• ^ Obviously Amara is a bit closed off at first but Sean made her feel really comfortable so it wasn't that hard to open herself up to him.  It kinda is a slowburn.  Amara does have a lot of inner turmoil about her past and everything but she works through it with the help of Charles and the other X-Men.

• I would love it if their story was continued into the other movies and see how their relationship grew.

• ^ I would also love to see what the future author does with Amara's family and if they ever reunite!
