SUMMARY :

The sun gives life to many things.  Plants use the suns light to make energy for itself.  Animals bathe in the suns beams for its warmth,  soaking up the heat it provided.  Helene was the embodiment of the sun,  or the closest thing to it,  according to Druig.  The room itself lit up whenever she walked into it.  A warm,  bright aura surrounded the Eternal and wherever she went,  providing warmth for those who needed it.  Everything about her was warm and light.  Her smile blinded those who stared too long.  Her voice had a heavenly melody to it whenever she spoke.  Plants seemed to stand taller when she walked in a field or walked by the gardens the humans created.  Everything seemed warmer and brighter when she was around,  again,  according to Druig.  But no one else seemed to argue with the mind controllers thinking.  Everyone loved Helene and Helene loved everyone.  But her love for humanity and all things good was stomped out by the one person she thought would never leave her.

After the split up in Tenochtitlan and many failed attempts at trying to stay with one of her fellow Eternals,  Helene decided to settle down in a still developing Norway and build herself a new life there.  The blonde had lived a simple life for many,  many years until her friends from college dropped by to tell her that the Deviants had reappeared and the world was ending in six days.  And to top it all off,  her ex lover is looking to make amends with their past but she isn't quite ready to bring up the past that she was trying to run away from.

EXTRA :

• Helene's power is basically Solar Absorption & Light Manipulation, they go hand in hand together

• ^ the whole reason why the Eternals refer to her as 'Sunshine'. She's practically the female version of Marvels Sunspot

• ^^ her name literally means 'shining light' which translates to her abilities

• when they were in Athens, the people & Sprite created the Gods Apollo & Alectrona through their stories

• when she moved to Norway, she changed her name to Helena Pedersen & works in a bakery

• ^ she lived with Sersi before moving. She needed time for herself. She lived in London first, then Germany, and then Norway

• Helen also has an English accent since the faceclaim is British, but if you decide to choose the faceclaim then you can change the accent she has as well

• Druig and Helene were always close but Druig was closer with Makkari while Helene was closer with Phastos/Kingo

• ^ honestly Helene & Phastos would be such a good brotp

• ^^ tbh tho, the greatest trio of the group would be her, Makkari, & Thena. Prove me wrong. I'll wait.

• Helene is a fighter but also a thinker

• ^ she takes on both roles because it even out but also because she's a great fighter with her abilities but she also uses her head & contributes to many of civilizations achievements as well

• She's a lot like Sersi is some ways regarding her view on humanity & humans. She loves them with all of her heart but she does realize their flaws is what is going to be their downfall & desperately wishes to help, like how Druig views them. Even after Tenochtitlan & all the wars & deaths, she still holds a special place for humanity in her heart but it's not as great as it was before.

• Druig & Helene's relationship was super lowkey & they kept their love super private. Of course, some were an exception like Makkari & Ajak. They much preferred it that way & loved on each other in private.

• ^ When it is revealed that they were in a relationship, Phastos & Kingo freak the fuck out. ( "I'm sorry, what? You're telling me that you two were a thing back then?" "Oh my god. I don't want to have that visual in my head." "Kingo!" )

• ^^ Since Helene was in Norway & the Domo was in Iraq & time was ticking, the group decided to spilt up real quick & get Helene separately. Sersi, Kingo, & Ikaris go to get Helene while Druig, Sprite, Phastos, & Thena went to Iraq in order to go to the Domo & recruit Makkari.

• ^^^ The group finds out about the couples history when Druig says, "My, my. Is that my darling starlight?". No ones ever heard him say that so it catches everyone by surprise & Kingo quickly puts two and two together & literally gasps & hits/grabs onto Phastos shoulder as he literally screams, "You! You two? No!". Helene ignores Kingo & slightly smiles at Druig & says, "Hello to you too, Druig."

• ^^^^ Please don't have Druig use the "My beautiful,  beautiful" line.  It's reserved for Makkari and Makkari only.  He doesn't call her this in the book tho.  It just sounds weird & not unique when writers have him use that line for a reader insert or another character.

• When Helene is told the news of Ajak & Gilgamesh's death & the impending end of Earth, it takes quite a while for her to gather herself. She almost blows Ikaris' head off when he disregards her need to take a couple of minutes to herself & rushes her to get it together. They never really got along anyway due to their powers being similar & always 'battling' for the most strongest/powerful spot in the group (Helene never really cared for the title but she loved to push Ikaris' buttons).

• Helene tries to help Phastos when he trying to figure out how to create the Uni-Mind & how they were going to find Tiamut. She bounces off ideas for Phastos & Druig just looks at her like she's the only person in the room

• Helene isn't too shocked to find out that Ikaris was the one to kill Ajak & want the Emergence to happen. She's beyond pissed, but isn't surprised. Nor is she shocked that Sprite decides to leave with the older man.

• ^ But she is surprised that Kingo won't help them fight. I mean, he is an egotistical guy who seems like he would take up the opportunity to save the world and then brag about it later but it seems Helene & I are both wrong. She accepts his view point and expresses her frustration but does embrace him and bid him a goodbye & 'see you later'. To which he returns.

• okay, about their past 😩😖

• ^ If love at first sight was an actual couple

• ^^ When Druig left & ignored Helene's calls for him, that was the worst thing either of them had experienced. Druig did want Helene to come with him but he knew where her loyalties lied & loved how devoted she was to Ajak & the humans. He didn't want to make her miserable by making her come with him when he knew her dreams. He loved her too much to do that to her. Helene also knew that if she went with him, it would make her happy but not for forever & knew that fighting with him wasn't going to get her anywhere. The spilt severely hurt & it's more of the fact that he didn't say goodbye to her. Everything that was happening in the moment was too much for her.

• ^^^ She held a strong grudge against him for leaving her & the others since she expressed to him the fear of them all splitting up one day or him leaving her, to which he assured her time and time again that that would never happen.

• Druig is desperate to fix the hole he left in his loves heart & Helene is hesitant to accept that fact but once Ikaris 'kills' him during their first Uni-Mind, she realizes just how much she truly did miss him & that the grudge was something that she should let go & let him back into her life, no matter the time it took for both of them to fall back into their routine.

• ^ Speaking of Ikaris being a bitch, she literally goes apeshit on him. Everything is kind of a blur after she witnesses Ikaris blast Druig into a mountain. Makkari charges after him but he manages to get the upper hand. Helene, no pun intended, literally starts to glow in anger & despair. She continually blasts Ikaris with whatever strength she has left but he manages to knock her down in her frenzy. Phastos cages him & at this point, Helene could care less about ethics and morals. Her centuries old love is dead and she's adamant on killing the man who murdered him. As Ikaris tried to blast her with his eye gleams, she ends up absorbing those blasts & converts them into her own blasts or strengths & just starts to go at him until she's sure he's bleeding. Ikaris manages to break free of Phastos' cage & knock Helene back into the rock behind her, knocking the wind out of her.

• ^^ Once he makes his way to where Sersi is, Helene just sits there as she accepts her fate of dying along with the Earth and millions of others. But she's at peace with the fact Druig doesn't have to experience that. Then the second Uni-Mind commences, Sersi freezing Tiamut and stopping the Emergence from happening. Helene is relieved but also saddened that her love isn't there anymore.

• ^^^ The first person she sees is Makkari and the two embrace over the fact that they lost someone very close to the both of them as well as the losses of Ajak & Gilgamesh. She then embraces Phastos, who expresses his condolences through his tight hug & soft hand rubbing up and down her back. When she pulls away from the embrace, she sees Druig's silhouette and freezes in place. It takes a moment for her to realize that it wasn't an illusion Sprite was casting and once it dawns on her, she jogs to Druig and pulls him into a crushing embrace, to which he returns ( "It's alright my starlight. It's okay."). She physically can't say anything without breaking down so she just lays her forehead onto Druig's and lightly rubs her nose against his.

• ^^^^ THEY GET BACK TOGETHER & ITS A FUCKING HAPPILY EVER AFTER

• Helene absolutely adores Phastos & his family. She loves talking to Jack and telling him stories of her adventures with the others as well as secretly show him her powers ( "Do you glow in the dark?" "I mean, I could try. You wanna see?" "Heck yeah!").

• Helene does decide to leave with Thena,  Makkari,  & Druig on the Domo to find other Eternals and warn them about Arishem's true plan & their true origin.

• Druig wants to physically fight Eros when he expresses interest in Thena & Makkari but especially Helene. Like, yeah you may be the Greek god of love but that won't stop you from catching Druig's hands ( "Just say the word love and I'll do it."  "Oh, stop it you goof. I can surely take care of myself.").  We all know that if zeros were to try anything,  Helene would roast him like a marshmallow,  quite literally.
