Victoria hurried towards the prison. She pushed her way inside and touched his hands as he put them through the bars. Tearfully she whispered "forgive me, please. I will try to get you out!"

"I know what's going to happen to me, I've made peace with that. Victoria, get out of here before it's too late"

"I will not see you die" she whispered tearfully before guards ordered her to leave. Julian shed a tear as he said "you had all my heart, all of it"

She left crying his name before she ran to Antony and asked "will you let him go, please?!"

"Why do you care about a pirate like him? Why would you love a pirate like him?"

"HE IS MORE THAN THAT! LET HIM GO, PLEASE?! HE IS INNOCENT!"

"He is a pirate. Do you not understand that? How can you love such a man when there is a man like me, someone who could give you everything? I could give you anything you want... anything within my power to give and you choose to be with a man like that?"

She shook her head and whispered "I do not expect you to understand. I love him; I would do anything for him!"

"Good then do this one thing for me. Be my fiancée, set a date and I will have him released. I will say I made a mistake, he will be allowed to go and you will stay, my wife, my property"

"What if I say no?"

"Then you get the privilege that is offered to very few. You get to watch him hang while you are sat down on your own seat, watching him swing for his despicable crimes. The choice is yours, Victoria. What will you decide?"

Tearfully Victoria whispered "as your fiancée, I beg you to save this poor soul. Offer him clemency... let him be free"

"You see that was not difficult, was it? Do not worry; I shall speak to the guards"

"Thank you" Victoria whispered tearfully as Antony walked over to a group of guards, calm as he cruelly said "bring the execution forward and my fiancée would like the front seat. I want to see him hung by the neck until he can no longer breathe"

"NO! YOU PROMISED ME!"

"As your fiancé I shall decide what is good for you. This pirate has clearly gotten into your head, infected what he found there. It will do you good to watch his life end and as your fiancé I intend to help you but if I cannot, you shall swing too"

"I will not let you do this!" Victoria shouted.

"Do not worry my dear, part of being a woman means you are not in charge of me. I have decided this for both of us. You shall only be free to love me once he has gone and I will be free to marry you once he has gone"

She ran into the prison in tears as she whispered "please forgive me, I did not mean for this to happen. If only you did not come for me, I love you... please forgive me"

"Don't be worrying about me, Victoria. If I'm meant to go, I shall be gone. I understand, just go... you don't belong in this sort of place. Go, live your life, enjoy it and please... be free. Don't think about me as I go to the gallows, don't let this be the way you remember me"

"I love you. Come on, I will try and get you out of here" she promised.

He shook his head and whispered "no... they'll know it was you who helped me. Just leave this place, go, run. I want you to live your life, live it free... free for good"

"What about you, what will you do? What will happen to you, my love, my angel?"

"I'm no angel, Victoria but if you're alive, I can feel free... I can go to where I'm meant to be without fear or hatred. If I can keep you safe, I know I can die in peace, my love"

"No... come on, do not do this. I beg of you, do not do this. Do not give up, you make it harder for me to fight" she begged as she touched his hand. He brushed her hand with his and whispered "I love you and in death I'll find my freedom"
