*TW: Slight cursing*

*Virgil's POV*

Andrew: So. Now that class is over I've got some tea.

Its been a week since we've gone to the caves and nothing's really happened. Well, other then Andrew becoming a part of our friend group.

Roman: Spill.

We planned on going back the next day but Alex and Kat got busy with work stuff. We haven't heard from Thomas or FG either. It's like they've gone off the radar. I haven't had any new weird dreams which I guess is a good thing but its like the other two are on a loop and that's not so good.

Roman wears that necklace he found at all the time now, its as if he's always had it. The little spider made its way to a permanent spot on his bed, and the picture is now on his nightstand. I haven't asked him why though, I don't think he knows either.

Andrew: So. Axel cornered me in the hallway before class earlier and warned me to stay away from you. He said you were a witch.

Roman: Well-

Andrew: Wait are you a witch?! That would be cool as f-

Mr. Williams: Mr. Andrew I suggest you lower your voice if you're going to use that kind of language in my classroom.

Ro laughs and Andrew yells out a sorry.

Roman: As far as I know I'm not a witch, but Virgil did powerblast him into next year when I became his punching bag.

Andrew starts laughing and gives me a thumbs up.

Andrew: Good on you Virge! Why'd he choose you though?

Roman: Him and Mia were the main people who hated my eyes. They called me a demon and beat me up. Its no big deal now though.

Andrew: Joke's on them. They're just jealous, red eyes are cool as hell.

He made sure to raise his voice a little on that last part getting a disapproving glare from Mr. Williams.

Roman laughs and they switch the topic to something random.

Ro seems so much happier then he's been for the past few weeks. He finally has a sense of normalcy again. He still worries about finding Remus but he knows he can't really do anything until we can go to the caves again or hear from FG or Thomas.

The lunch bell rings and everyone starts to gather their stuff. Roman and Andrew stand up at the same time and both fall forward, catching themselves on the table. The ends of their hair turning white before quickly turning back to normal. Andrew's looked like his entire body glitched for a second but it was so quick I don't know if it actually happened.

Virgil: Are you guys ok?

Roman: Just got dizzy for a sec Vee, we're all good.

Andrew: Yeah its that low blood sugar thing the health teacher was talking about the other day. We just need some food and we'll be bursting with health.

I look at him skeptically while he just laughs and picks up his bag.

Andrew: Let's go see what Pat brought for lunch. It's his turn right?

Virgil: It is. Are you sure you guys are okay though?

Roman: Totally! Like he said, we're just low on food.

I give him a look that he hopefully understands as 'we'll talk about this later' and he sighs.

For his hair to turn white like that... it might be the start of what happened last time happening again. God I hope I'm wrong.

What about Andrew though? He did the same thing Ro did. Maybe its contagious to other supernatural involved people. Well, alive people seeing as I didn't get it. Whatever it is.

We go to the base where Patton and Logan were waiting for us. Within this week of Andrew joining the group he was let in on the location of our secret hideout and put into the lunch rotation. Each day that we don't go to the cafeteria we take turns bringing in lunch for everyone. Even Logan and I take part even though we don't eat.

Patton: Hey guys! Today's meal of choice is leftover spaghetti I made last night with garlic bread!

Andrew: Yes! Garlic bread!

Roman and Andrew go into the kitchen with Patton and I join Logan in the living room. I lower my voice so they don't overhear me.

Virgil: That sickness Ro had, is it possible for it to come back?

Logan: Yes, in fact it will until we find Remus. I'm actually confused as to why it wasn't yet.

Virgil: And I assume you're not gonna tell me why?

He shrugs. Of course not.

Virgil: Well can you at least tell me if its contagious?

Logan: Contagious?

Virgil: Earlier when we were leaving class Roman and Andrew both got dizzy standing up and the tips of their hair turned white.

Logan: If that's the case then Andrew is coincidentally going through the same thing as Roman or he's... no because how could he- maybe... I'll investigate it.

Well. Ok then.

Logan: Was there anything else that happened?

Virgil: Well I thought Andrew like... glitched? But it probably didn't actually happen.

Logan takes a deep breath and starts pacing the living room.

Logan: I'm going to talk to FairyGodmother. Tell Pat I'll be back soon.

Virgil: Lo-

And he's gone. 

Andrew, Pat, and Ro emerge from the kitchen laughing about something. 

Patton: Hey Virge! Where's Logan?

Virgil: He said he had to go to do something real quick. He said he'll be back soon.

I don't want to worry them over what's happening. I don't even know what's happening. Not really, so its best to just not tell them. 

Andrew's watch beeps and they all sigh. 

Andrew: Guess we gotta go back to class. 

Roman: We should come back here after school and play Mario Kart or something. 

Patton: I'll meet you guys there later, I have a test to do since I was gone the other day.

Roman and Andrew give him a thumbs up and they head out, me trailing behind them in thought.

Logan left pretty quickly for someone who knows that we don't know where FG, or Thomas, is. He's probably in the "in-the-know" squad and has known the whole time. 

Nerdy bastard. 

*Time Skip*

Andrew, Pat, Ro and I are the first ones out the front door as the final school bell rang. Logan still hasn't back and Pat is getting worried.

Virgil: I'm sure he'll be back by dinner Pat. 

Patton: Ok but, what's he even doing? Where exactly is he?

Virgil: I don't know Pat. 

Technically not a lie, I don't know where he is. 

Wait. The Base! Why didn't we think of that sooner! I bet he went there. 

Virgil: How about I go look for him? I have an idea where he might be. 

Patton takes a deep breath and nods. 

Patton: Alright, I'll meet you guys at the hideout later then. 

Roman: Guess its just us for Mario Kart, A.

Andrew: Ten bucks say I win.

Roman: Ten bucks says you don't.

Andrew: You're on. 

They shake hands with serious looks on their faces. 

Virgil: You two are dumb. 

Roman: Ten bucks is ten bucks Vee. 

I shake my head smiling at him and stick my hands in my hoodie pockets. 

Virgil: I'll see you guys later then. 

Roman: Where do you think he is?

Virgil: I'm gonna try and find the Base and see if he's there. 

Andrew: The Base?

Roman: Its where my Uncle Thomas works. 

Andrew: Cool. See you later then Vee. 

I nod and turn to leave. 

I can't help but feel... angry? No that's not the right word its just...

Andrew called me Vee. Only Ro has ever called me that. Andrew saying it... I don't know it feels weird. 

I can't think about that now. Logan needs to answer some questions without saying "I'm not at liberty to say." 

Now its up to whether or not I remember how to get to the Base...

*Roman's POV*

Roman: I win! Pay up man! 

Andrew: Damn, you've upped you game Sanders. 

He reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a ten dollar bill.

Roman: I've been training for this very moment. 

I dramatically take the bill from his hand and we laugh. 

Andrew: So what now, Mario King?

Roman: Well we play-

My voice cuts like someone pressed pause on me. I hear Andrew start to say something but that cuts out too. 

Its happening again. 

This wasn't supposed to- I'm supposed to be fine!

Where's Virgil? I need him. I need him to tell me its ok...

Darkness surrounds my vision till there's nothing but black and all I can hear is a high pitch ring that seems to be only getting louder. 

Then the first pain wave hits.

I don't think I screamed, I don't think I could've. This is a lot worse then last time. Its the kinda pain that all you want is for someone to knock you out so you don't feel it anymore, but you remain conscious anyway.

Then the second wave hits. 

I... where am I? Last thing I remember... I get a sudden sharp pain in my head as I remember being in the hideout and freezing up again. I think that last wave knocked me out.

So am I in my head?

Did it... kill me?

???: Roman?

*Virgil's POV*

I finally found the park Thomas took us to what feels like forever ago, when I feel my stomach drop. It feels like how I felt when I woke up to find Roman had went to school without me. 

Last time I felt that and ignored it Roman ended up getting beat up. No way am I making that mistake again. 

Time to try out that possibly-non-existent teleportation power. 

I focus on the hideout and picture myself at the entrance. 

Is that how this works?

I close my eyes, focusing again, waiting a few seconds to open them. 

It worked! I open my eyes to see the door, well tree that opens- anyway. Back on task. Without bothering to open the door normally I go through it. (Which feels weirder then it usually does but that's probably just my nerves.)

At the bottom of the stairs I start to panic because I don't immediately see him. 

Virgil: Roman?

No answer. Ok more worried now. 

I walk into the living room to see both Roman and Andrew passed out on the couch. Roman's hair is fully white and his skin is pale, meanwhile Andrew is glitching like crazy. His features keep switching in and out and his hair is flashing between blue and white. 

I rush over to them and pull Roman into my lap on the floor. I expect him to latch onto me like he did before but he remains limp. I check both of their pulses and they're down to almost nothing. 

Virgil: Logan wherever you are you better get your ass over here or I'll kill you again!
