(TW: Cursing)

*Virgil's POV*

Back at the Base, Thomas carried Roman into a guest bedroom and said he'd wake us up in the morning. I couldn't sleep so I switched back and forth between pacing and watching Ro sleep (It's not weird), until Remy (who was apparently next door) came in and told me if I didn't stop pacing he'd send me to hell. Which is quote "something I can and will do."

Needless to say, I settled for sitting in a chair that was in the corner of the room.

Now, many sleepless hours later, Joan teleported us a bit away from the school so we wouldn't get noticed. When we got up to the front lawn, Patton and Logan were sitting at a picnic table talking. Patton had his phone up to his ear acting like he was talking into it. Smart.

Patton: Roman! Virgil!

Roman: Hey Pat!

Virgil: Sup.

We sit across from them at the picnic table and Patton puts his phone away.

Patton: I have many questions. Where were you yesterday? What happened to your contacts? I mean, I love the eyes and all but I thought you wanted them hidden? Also, why are Axel and Mia acting weird about you?

He rambled quickly, but we're all used to this by now that Ro understood perfectly.

Roman: Short answer, we were with Uncle Thomas. The contacts kinda got messed up the other day and now everyone knows. Axel and Mia probably like that because they were part of the major freak-out group when they saw my eyes.

Logan: That was a... fact filled answer Roman.

Roman: He asked, I answered. Also, I'm assuming you two officially met?

Patton smiles brightly and nods.

Patton: Yeah! We talked about the necklace and FairyGodmother and her relationship with you two, it was great!

So Pat can know what's going on but we can't? Figures.

Patton: So what'd you do with Thomas?

Roman explains everything that went down yesterday, from finding out Thomas is a mage to confronting his parents in jail.

Patton: A twin? Wow that's... wow.

Roman: I know. And the worst thing is we have absolutely nothing to go on to find him! Not even a name!

Logan: Remus Young.

R and V: What?

Logan: His name, it's Remus Young.

Roman: How do you know his name?

Logan: I searched any information I could find relating to you when you an Patton met.

That's not creepy at all.

Virgil: But FG said that information was locked by her brother.

Logan: Well, it wasn't back then.

Roman: Do you know anything else? Do you know where he is?

Logan sighs and pushes up his glasses.

Logan: I know where he was. He stayed in the system for about two years after your parents gave him up. He was placed in an all boys orphanage/foster home until he was about 13. He ran away from there and has been missing since then.

I wonder if he knew about Roman. Did he run away to try and find him?

Roman: What do you think happened?

Logan: Odds are, he's living on the streets, managed to figure out how to live on his own somewhere, or someone took him in and never relayed that information to anyone.

So wherever he is, he's fine. Probably.

Patton: Do you think he can see ghosts too?

Logan: He can.

Well. That's that I guess. The bell rings and we head off to class. On the way there, Roman seems extra fidgety and I'm not sure why. Is there a presentation today I forgot about?

Mr. Williams: Everyone go ahead and get into your groups. You'll turn in your projects tomorrow.

Our group consisted of Miss Priss,  Mr. Basketball, and Patton. The populars death glared Roman the entire time which was really annoying and Patton ended up doing their part of the assignment.

The next few classes were relatively normal. Roman and I subtly took turns doing math problems, which is what we usually do but now I can actually write. I figured out putting my hand on the pencil as if I was actually holding worked a lot better then trying to do it in the air. Now my handwriting doesn't look like a three-year old's. Still sloppy, but legible.

The occasional glance was thrown because of the lack of contacts but nothing too bad.

Until lunch.

*Roman's POV*

We're on our way to eat lunch at the hideout like normal when a voice calls out to stop us.

Axel: Hey red-eyed demon!

I freeze, too scared to turn around. That was definitely Axel, and I'm definitely dead.

Axel: Hey! I'm talking to you freak!

We're still next to the school so he can't do anything... right? Virgil, Logan, and Patton exchange confused looks and I slowly turn around.

Axel is marching towards us, Mia a few places behind him. The other two aren't with them today, I bet they're distracting the teachers. Great.

Axel: Remember how I said we can do whatever the fuck we want? Well, coach benched me for tomorrow's game cuz I failed a test and I've decided you're my new punching bag so... I'm focusing my anger on you.

Does he not care that Patton is right next to me? Does he think he'll be too scared to tell? Is he gonna hurt him too?!

Virgil: Roman wha-

Axel walks the last few steps forward then sucker punches me in the stomach.

Patton: ROMAN!

Before I can even process the pain Axel lifts me off the ground by my throat.

Virgil: Bitch you're gonna regret being born.

Axel gets one second looking confused at Virgil before he gets power blasted across the grass, leaving me coughing on the ground.

Virgil: DO NOT TOUCH HIM EVER AGAIN!

He shoots a purple blast of fire towards Axel making his eyes widen in fear before rolling out of the way at the last second. The flame grazes his arm, turning orange at the impact, and he screams out in pain.

Flames build I'm Virgil's hand again but before he can do anything, Logan was pining his arms to his sides.

Virgil: LOGAN LET ME GO!

Logan: Virgil, you need to calm down.

Virgil: NO! I'M GONNA TURN HIM TO FUCKING ASHES!

Patton dropped to my side to make sure I was okay while Mia ran over to Axel. He had a good size burn and I wouldn't be surprised if his ribs were bruised.

Axel: T-there was a-a ghost. O-or something. Y-you're a witch. You're a fucking witch!

Mia: Stay away from us!

With Mia's help, they ran off as quick as possible. By now, Virgil finally calmed down enough for Logan to let him go. He was by my side in seconds.

Virgil: Are you okay? He's the one who beat you up before wasn't he? I knew you were hiding something! I'm gonna kill that son of a-

Roman: Vee! Calm down, I'm fine.

I'm actually in a lot of pain but that's besides the point.

Roman: He did beat me up before. I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to worry.

Telling him about the others probably isn't the best idea. It'll only make things worse.

Logan: May I be of service?

Virgil, still seemingly on edge, hissed at Logan. Literally hissed. Logan stepped back with his hands up.

Logan: I mean no harm Virgil, I can help.

He looks down, mumbles an apology and moves out of the way. Logan walked over and sat next to me, he closed his eyes and when he opened them again they were glowing blue. After a moment or so, all my pain was gone. Like totally. Including the soreness from the first bruises.

Logan: If obtained any open wounds those will scar but you should be fine now.

Roman: Wow. I didn't know you could heal.

Logan: I am... limited in my healing. I can only do it if I know what's wrong. Or if it's something not to complex like small scraps or soreness. I didn't do this with Patton because, if you haven't noticed already, the healing takes your own energy. Since his was already dangerously low, my interference would've been useless.

Now that he mentioned it, I was extremely tired. Like, just ran a marathon tired. I'm definitely falling asleep in class.

Virgil: So you're really okay now?

Roman: Yeah, I'm fine. Tired, but fine. Let's just get through the rest of the day and go home ok?

He smiles and stands up.

Virgil: Sounds like a plan.

So, my school has officially cancelled for all of April so that's great.

You know, it might actually be a good thing because I got this chapter done a LOT sooner then the last one...
