It has been a year since Rex first met his best friend, Kiana Kaslana. The two had corresponded through letters and emails, even calls. Now, he was preparing for his internship in the company owned by a longtime friend of the family. 

Rex smiled as he removed his helmet and parked his motorcycle in the parking lot of his new stomping grounds, ME Corp. 

"Uncle Ryoma," Ren greeted their family friend. 

"Rexley, you're a lot bigger than the last time I saw you," Ryoma said with a smile. "Fifteen years old and leaps and bounds ahead of the best engineers in the world," 

"Well, it's mostly luck," Rex said with a smile as the two walked towards the building. The young man followed the purple-haired male. Rex raised his brow as they reached his office.

"If you mind?" 

Rex said nothing as he pulled out a hand-sized cube and sounds similar to the beating of a heart echoed from the cube. 

"Fascinating, it disabled every communication device inside the entire room... all communication coming out." 

"It's one of my projects," 

"I know, I read your thesis on it. I never would have thought that you would use sounds as the foundation of your machines," 

"I was motivated to challenge the wonders of the past Era, no Soulium was used but I bet these babies can last for several thousand years," Rex said as he handed Ryoma the cube. "So, I know that you won't just allow me to work here, uncle. What's the catch?" 

"You always were the most attentive of your brothers outside of combat," Ryoma said before showing him a photo of a cute and beautiful girl. 

"Your daughter?" 

"Yes, I want you to befriend Mei," Ryoma said with a smile. "My cute daughter is popular in her school and you know what kind of attention popularity brings," 

"I do," Rex said, remembering all lessons Elysia taught him. He loved Rein, but without big sis Ely, he would be a far colder man.

"You won't have any ulterior motives... motives that would harm me or my daughter I hope," 

"I'm not a pervert," Rex said. 

"I know," Ryoma said with a smirk. "Elysia would hang you upside down and turn your ass to a pincushion," 

"Don't remind me..." Rex whispered, shivering in fear as he looked at Ryoma. 

"I already prepared your workshop and a room in the estate," 

"Estate?" 

"Did you think that I would let the son of my best friend work for me and not house him?" 

"Isn't this nepotism?" 

"Not if you can back your words which you can," Ryoma said with a smile before Rex shrugged. "Your workshop will be under the family estate and I know you will be studying here in Nagazora," 

"You do know that I already have several engineering degrees," Rex said deadpan only to see an envelope with the emblem of his big sister (in-law in the future hopefully). "Damn it... I should have known," 

"Oh, also, I know how you progressed in the Crozzo sword style and I want you to train with Mei."

arriving after his shift, the young man hummed as he found himself inside a convenience store after sending a text to Kiana about his work. Taking some of his money, the young man took a can of iced coffee and put an earphone on his right ear, listening to music as he drank his can of coffee. 

Rex hummed as he noticed something, a girl around his age was panicking as she looked at the assortment of snacks with a hat and a pair of glasses. She was tall but it was adorable to see her panic. 

"Need help?" Rex asked and the girl stood straight, jumping a bit as she turned around. "Mei Raiden?" 

The young girl blushed as she lowered her cap, trying to hide her face. 

"I... I'm not Mei Raiden... I'm Ei..." Rex raised his brow. 

"Rex... I love you. But you need to learn to have some tact..." The voice of his beloved (future) sister-in-law echoed in his mind

"Sure... take some Pringles, they taste good," Rex offered as he turned back to his drink, focusing on what he was listening to. 

Noticing some black suits, Mei's bodyguards, the young man sighed. Ryoma overdid it with his overprotectiveness with Mei. Well, considering that she was kidnapped when she was young. The young man headed to the center and purchased a box of Cigars. Heading to the alley, the young man lit the cancer stick and bit on its butt, inhaling a small amount of smoke before exhaling it. 

"That's not good for you," the voice of 'Ei' said as she looked at him. "Can I hide here? Just for a while?" 

"Sure..." Rex answered as 'Ei' quickly went behind him, using his larger frame to hide herself from her guards. "You know, you shouldn't just enter random alleyways with strangers," 

"Sorry!" Mei whispered as she hid behind his frame once more. 

Rex said nothing as he finished his cigar and hid the case in his pocket. 

"Name's Rex..." 

"I apologize for lying, my name is Mei Raiden," Mei said with a bow as the young man looked at her and shrugged. At least it was not like the first time he met with his adoptive cousin.

Omake: 

Ren Cruz, patriarch and founder of what will be known as a house Crozzo closed his eyes. It was his anniversary with his wife and he had no idea what to give her. So, he did the best thing he thought of and decided to go and spoil his wife for the entire day. Waking up early, the young man smiled as he looked at his wife sleeping pleasantly in their bed. 

Smiling, the young man opened the gas and started to cook his wife's favorite after cleaning the entire house. Thankfully, it is their more cozy and more homely apartment in Arc City. As the young man cooked, Fu Hua smiled as she entered the kitchen and in the privacy of their home, smiled as she wrapped her arms around him from behind.

"Happy anniversary," Fu Hua whispered with a smile as she grabbed his shoulder, lowering him to kiss him on the lips softly. 

"Happy anniversary," Ren said with a smile as he cooked their meal with his wife hugging him. 

Ren smiled as he finished cooking only to find himself pinned to the wall Fu Hua smirked at him while removing her glasses, her beautiful eyes focused on him. 

"w-wait!" 

"No waiting," Fu Hua said with a smile as she pounced on her husband.

Rex blinked as he felt something ominous from behind him after he saw the photo Kiana sent him of her new outfit with her wearing it. 

Rex blinked as he saw his cousin pouting at him, increasing her cuteness. His cousin, adopted she may be, was adorable and his uncle Jack already fell in love with his new daughter and Shigure claimed her as her daughter. 

"Something wrong?" Rex asked only for the girl to walk towards him and sat in front of him while showing him a hair brush. 

"Okay..." Rex said as he brushed her hair.
