Elysai Apocalypse raised her brow as she looked at her friend and co-worker, Kallen Kaslana. The young woman asked to talk with her regarding something during her trip and she assured Rein they will be fine. Oh, she knew about Kallen not liking her relationship with Rein but did she care? Hell no! 

"Ely, you know about our contract, right?" Kallen asked with a pained smile that Elysia felt that it was fake. "You know what will happen if word gets out," 

"And?" Elysia asked, not seeing what she wanted.

"you'll get fired from the agency!" Kallen said looking at her, "I know you love being an idol," 

Elysia's eyes widened. So... she was threatening her. 

"I do. I love being an idol, I love bringing smiles to the people," Elysia said with a smile. 

"Then, you understand that-" 

"But I love Rein more," Elysia cut in with a fond smile and a blush. Unaware of the hollow and lifeless eyes of Kallen that glared at her, 

"Elysia... you are at the peak of your career!" 

"And I don't care about it," Elysia said with a smile, playing with a lock of pink hair. "Rein... I love Rein and I will stay by his side, whether you like it or not," Elysia said, her beautiful eyes narrowing coldly at Kallen. 

"But Ely... your dream, Rein wouldn't," Kallen said, trying to salvage the situation. 

"Dreams change, Kallen," Elysia said with a smile. True, during the start of their careers and when she first met him, she wanted to be the best idol ever but as she got to know Rein more and more, the more her dreams changed and somewhere along the way, she started to fall for that asshole of a friend of her. "True, being an idol was my dream once but now..." The image of the Crozzo household with her little brothers welcoming her as they did their things with Rita watching in fondness at how Reve cooked their meals with her, the way how she taught and mentored Rex with a bow, and the sight of her beloved Reinhardt asleep after working too hard.

She would never change it for anything else.

 "Are you," 

"Yes and my love is not as twisted as yours, Kallen," Elysia said with a smile. She looked at the way how Kiana peeked over Rex's shoulder as the young man built a smaller sandcastle with the young man offering if she wanted to help him. 

Kallen turned around and saw this, remembering when that sight was her and Rein. 

"He's mine," Kallen growled out, anger and hate showing in her blue eyes. 

"He's not yours or mine, Rein is a human being, Kallen," Elysia whispered as she shook her head, disappointed at her friend. "I have to thank you, your plan... allowed me to find someone that loves me for me," She said as she turned around, leaving the area as Kallen clenched her fists. 

It was unfair! Rein was hers! Not Ely's, Not anyone else's, just hers! 

They've known each other for years! Ever since they were babies!

Rex chuckled as Kiana accidentally flattened the sand castle wall she was making. The two fourteen-year-olds were near the sea with their castles on. While his sandcastle was beautiful and Kiana's was... a mess, he can't help but feel amazed by her tenacity. 

"Here, do this," Rex said, guiding her hands as he helped her mold the sand. "See, it's easier this way," 

"It is!" Kiana said with a bright grin that made his lips twitch a bit upwards. 

Rin popped her head out of the sand between them. 

"Rex, can I borrow Herald?" 

"Herald?" Kiana asked, unbothered by Rin as she looked at her friend. 

"My Bow," Rex answered before looking at Rin. 

"Sure, just be careful," 

"Thanks, Bro!" Rin said with a grin as she popped into the sand. 

"You use a bow?" 

"Yeah, Big Sis Ely taught me," Rex said with a smile. "I can also use swords and stuff," 

"I use guns and baseball bats!" Kiana said with a grin. 

"Yeah... Baseball bats are Kaslana's favorite weapon," Rex said with a smile as he went back to his sand castle. Noticing something, Rex looked up and saw a beautiful older girl smiling at him sadly which reminded him of Kiana before disappearing once he blinked. What the fucking hell was that?! 

"Rex!" Siegfried Kaslana said, hugging the boy. "You're so big now!"Kiana's father said as he hugged the boy while Rex looked at Kiana, pleading for help. "And you're already friends with my baby girl!" 

"You better back off for now, Uncle Ziggy," Reinhardt said with a smile. "Rex can be stabby with strangers," 

"Come on! Let me enjoy spending time with my Godson!" Siegfried whined, causing both Rex and Kiana to look at him. 

"It's true, he and Dad are best friends," Reinhardt said with a smile.

Rein watched as Kallen became more agitated as the day went on. He did not know what she was thinking but he knew she was pissed. Sadly, it was not his area of expertise.

Omake: Cooking woes

Rex "The Tonal architect" Crozzo watched as Kiana shyly approached him. Noticing the bandages around her fingers and how she held a lunch box, it was clear that she cooked for him. The young man knew of how bad of cooks the house of the shields of humanity was but he did not mind. A sad Kiana was one of the worst things he had ever seen. 

Rex said nothing as he removed his gloves and took the lunchbox. Opening it, the young man was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful Scrambled egg with rice and some salad for dessert. 

"Wait!" Kiana cried out, taking the lunch box away, "Y-you're hands are dirty and oily! I'll feed you instead!" She said before he could say anything, Kiana expertly used her chopsticks and took some rice and eggs before holding them in front of his mouth, 

deciding to humor his friend, the tonal architect opened his mouth and ate the meal. 

"It's good!" Rex whispered in shock and awe. Not only was it edible, but it also tasted great! 

Hearing this, Kiana smiled brightly as she fed him slowly. 

"You should try it too," Rex said, gently taking her chopsticks and feeding her. 

Unaware of their audience, the childhood friends ate with each other while Rin nodded sagely along with Rein, Elysia, and Reve. All four of them wore matching sunglasses for some reason as they peeked out of the doorpost with smiles on their faces.
