Sub Story: Kira's Birthday

Tomorrow was Kira's birthday as Soryu knows and he was thinking of different ways to surprise his little sister and make up for every birthday he had missed.

"Soryu, what are you doing?" Eisuke was confused to see his friend flipping through different birthday plans, gazing at each one seriously. "Kira's birthday is tomorrow and I don't have anything planned. I'm an awful brother." he replies.

"Just take her out for dinner or something, ask her what she would like."

"And how is that supposed to apologize to my little sister for missing 21 birthdays in a row? Eisuke, tomorrow is her 22nd birthday and I missed everything up to this point." Soryu snaps, giving his friend a dumb look as if to say 'are you kidding me?'

"Well I'm sorry for trying to help, why don't you ask her boyfriend what she likes?" Eisuke gestures to Ota, who was off sketching nearby and disappears into his suite upstairs. (A/N: Yes, she will be paired with Ota, sorry for the spoiler! ((If that wasn't obvious)) )

Soryu ponders over his choices for a moment and swallows his pride, approaching the blonde artist. Upon closer inspection, he noticed Ota drawing a girl, a girl Soryu recognized as his little sister. "Ota," Soryu mutters, looking at the man earnestly. "I need your help."

"About time, Soryu!" Ota laughs heartily. "You looked so mad and serious the whole time." Up until now, Soryu still wonders what Kira found attractive in this man.

"Are you going to help me or what, Kisaki?" Soryu's temper was short, seeing as he had been stressed with finishing work early to plan the party and he was frustrated about planning. "Of course, it's for Kira after all but we're going to need the other boys' help." Ota grins broadly, reaching for his phone to contact Baba.

"Hey, Ota, what did you need help with?" "Me and Soryu need a favor."

"Soryu, eh? What is it?" a sly grin appeared on the thief's face as he glanced at the mobster for a brief moment. "Tomorrow is Kira's birthday and we need help to plan it."

"What are you waiting for then? Let's get the other and get started!" the thief laughs.

The next day, the boys were exhausted, decorating the whole lounge, and surprisingly Eisuke and Mamoru had helped out. "There, we're done." Ota dusts off his hands, looking at their decorated room. You would expect pink and purple everywhere but surprisingly, the only things decorating the room was streamers, balloons, a few snacks, and a video playing on the T.V. and every decoration was colored black, white, and gold.

"Time to call in Kira." Soryu grins, pulling out his phone but paused and turned to the boys. "I'll say this only once, thank you." he smiles widely and everyone was stunned before smirks spread on their faces as their friend calls his little sister.

Everyone was shocked when Soryu began panicking, spouting off words into the phone. "Kira, get in the penthouse! Ota's been in an accident!" he shouts and Baba, who was beside Soryu began to join in. "Soryu! Get over here and help us!" he holds in his laughter but there was no answer on the other line until she hung up. But Soryu knew she was coming.

In less than 10 minutes, despite her trip out of town, she came bursting through the doors and surprisingly only panting lightly and no trace of sweat. "What happened?!" she screams, dashing to Soryu's side.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" they greet and Kira was stunned but ehr eyes were glued onto Ota, who was just fine. "I'm glad your okay." was her first reaction, wrapping her boyfriend in a hug. "Happy birthday, Kira." Soryu shakes his head at the lovers.

"Thanks for the party guys!" Kira beams at the boys, gathering them into a hug when the lounge door opens to reveal the Black Foxes. "Guys! Hey!" Kira greets the thieves who smile at her. "Told you she'd be here." Takuto grins confidently but the rest ignore him as the Foxes took their turns giving gifts to the author.

"Open them now, Kira!" Hiro tugs on Kira's arm, urging her to open the gifts. "Open mine first!" the ginger adds. "No way, mine's better," Riki says confidently, thrusting his gift to Kira. "What about me?" Kenshi asks from the side.

"You know what...? I'll just open them later." she mumbles, putting their argument to an end. "Anyway, what's the video?" Kira turns to the T.V. to clear the tension between Hiro and Riki. Ota plays the video and on screen were the bidders and Black Foxes together.

On screen first was Soryu with a gentle smile on his handsome face. He begins to speak, "Hey little sis, happy birthday. I'm sorry for missing 21 birthdays... I hope this will make up for everything." there was a pause and Soryu taps Kira's shoulder, handing her a gift.

"Thanks, bro." she gives a quick hug to her brother before turning back to the video which had begun to play again. "Happy birthday, Kira." a smirking EIsuke and grinning Baba said together and appear behind her, with Eisuke handing her a bag, and Baba a big box. "Thank you..."

The Black Foxes followed, with Mamoru. "Happy birthday, kid," the detective says, staring at the camera with a small smile and in real life, hands Kira a small box. "Happy birthday, Kira!" an energetic group of boys on TV she knows as the Foxes shout out, smiling happily, even Takuto.

Atsumu and Takuto, the only foxes who haven't given their gifts, hands two boxes to Kira, who accepts it gracefully. "Thank you so much, guys..."'

"Happy birthday, Kira." They say one final time and Ota appears on screen.

"I love you so much, Kira," he says, blushing. "You're so important to me and I just want to say thank you. For sticking with me and for loving me."  Kira turns to the artist beside her, who hands her a small box. "Thank you."

That night, Kira sat in her room, opening presents. What was confusing was that every present, apart from Soryu's, had a red rose in it whilst Soryu's had a golden rose, crafted to perfection. Upon opening it, she had received a group photo from Baba, taken at the first group outing with the Foxes.

From Eisuke was an expensive hair pin, Mamoru a bracelet, Soryu had gotten her a necklace from their mother, passed down to her. From Hiro was a painting of her and the Foxes, expensive perfume from Riki, a pair of fox charm earrings from Kenshi. As expected, Takuto had given her a cute and new shiffey toy while Atsumu gave her a golden framed picture of the foxes.

And from Ota, she opened the small box and inside was a ring and a folded piece of paper. It read:

We've only met but I love you enough to know you are my forever soulmate. Kira, will you marry me?

And underneath, was a collage of all their memories and in the middle was a picture of them taken by Baba, sharing a kiss under the rain.
