Keep On Going
The next day, Kira awakes to sunlight streaming in through the windows, blinding her as she opens her heavy eyelids. Rubbing her eyes sleepily, she notices that someone was sitting beside her bed.
Her guard immediately goes up and she glares at the blurry figure. "Relax, it's me." Her brother's voice immediately soothes her, and she relaxes back onto the bed to rest her throbbing head. "Why are you here...?" her voice was groggy as she asked, rubbing her forehead.
"Baba told me what happened and I came to check up on you." he replies slowly, staring at his sister. "..." she didn't reply, instead reached for her leg under the covers but winces as she touches it. Peeking under, she finds the bandages already soaking with blood and beginning to stain the covers.
"Dammit..." she mutters, pushing herself up and swinging her foot off the bed. "Little help here, Soryu?" she asks sarcastically, gesturing to her leg. "O-Oh yeah... Alright."
Kira points to the first aid kit on a shelf and Soryu hurries to pick it up, placing it on the bed beside her. "Think you can help me re-patch it up?" she asks, starting to peel off the bloodied bandages. "I think so, let me see." Soryu gently grabs her leg, peeling off the last of the bandages.
"I think I need to wash it again." she suggests, looking towards the bathroom. "Looks like it." Sryu carefully turns it to different angles, looking at the cut. Kira slings an arm around her brother's shoulder and lets him help her as she limps to the bathroom.
Seating herself on the sink, she stretches out her leg and places it into the sink bowl. Soryu switches the water on cold, letting it flow slowly. "Shit..." the assassin growls, clutching the edges of the counter. "That's stings like hell..."
"Sorry..." Soryu seemed uncomfortable, preferably as he had never treated such things. A few red drops blend with the water that flows down the sink. "That's good... We can just dab it with antiseptic and wrap it up..." Kira mutters and swings herself to sit on the sink with her legs dangling off.
"Can... Can you just bring the kit here? I really can't move much right now." The question sounded like an order, but Soryu does so anyway and soon returns in the bathroom with the kit. "Thanks."
Grabbing the bottle of antiseptic, she grabs a cotton ball and begins to dab the wound with it. "Tch..." she clicks her tongue before throwing away the reddened cotton ball and grabbing the roll of bandages. She ties it tightly around her leg, and double checks it before hopping onto her feet.
"Good enough." she bounces lightly before nodding. "Hey! You're going to get hurt, sit down!"
"No way. I'm fine, it's fine. I just need to eat. I'm starving, didn't get any dinner or lunch." Kira opens a closet, pulling out some clothes. With a pair of short denim shorts, a gray shirt, a black sweater, and a black bullet proof vest. She changes into the outfit and changes into a combat boots and pulls her hair into low pigtails.
"I'm ready! Let's go." Kira drags Soryu out of the room, leading him into the lounge where all the boys were gathered. "Hey, Kira! How's your leg from yesterday?"
"It's fine. I just finished changing the bandages, had to do it myself." she sends a teasing smirk at her brother before turning to the kitchen. "I'm starving... We got anything ready?"
"There are some frozen waffles in the fridge, you can eat it after microwaving." Ota suggests but Kira doesn't reply and simply walks into the kitchen. "Thanks." was the only words she utters before disappearing into the other room.
After 30 minutes she comes back out after eating. "Alright, Kira, we were supposed to see Father but as it seems right now, you can't go. I'll tell him."
"Excuse me? I'm just fine." she shakes her foot around to prove her point. "You're not coming. That's final." "I'm going!"
"Sit!" he orders firmly and Kira finds herself doing so. "Good, so can someone watch over her for me?" Soryu requests but Eisuke shakes his head no, saying he had lots of meetings. Mamoru had duty at the station, including the fact he said it was 'a pain in the ass'. Baba had to leave for a shift somewhere unknown.
And Ota was the only one available. Shit.
"Alright, Ota, can you watch her?" Soryu requests and although uncomfortable, the artist accepts. "If you really need me to."
Kira puffs her cheeks and pouts, crossing her arms as she sits on the couch. Who the hell wants their cheating ex to babysit them? Like what the...
"Sorry, Kira. Bear with me here but you're not coming, not like that." Soryu leaves with those words and some instructions for Ota. The other leave soon, each wearing encouraging (?) smirks. Kira makes a mental note to kill them later on but stays put for now.
"Do you need anything, Kira?" Ota asks as soon as they're gone, staring at her. Kira doesn't reply and gets up, staggering to her room and when the artist tries to support her, she shakes him off and limps into her suite, shutting the door in his face.
Grabbing one of the books she has written before, she plops onto the bed, beginning to read. As she read, all was quiet and after she finished, it was only afternoon. "Nothing to do..." she whispers and begins to head for the door.
As she steps out of her suite, her head begins to spin but she ignores it and walks over to the lounge, looking for some lunch. Ota was sitting on the couch and turned to her with his ever present angelic smile, "What did you need, Kira?"
"Lunch." she mutters when everything blurs and she falls to her knees. "M-My head... Shit..." she curses and grasps her hair, until she falls and everything goes back.
~*****~
When Kira suddenly faints, panic surges through Ota's veins. "Kira! Are you okay?! Crap... Soryu's going to kill me." the blonde bites his lip and picks up the mafia princess, placing her on the couch. "What am I supposed to do..."
As Kira lies on the couch, Ota can't help but stare at her beautiful face. But the expression on her face was pained, and Ota hated to admit it, but it was the same thing he saw after she broke up with him. And it was the same emotion going through him now.
He never really knew why he cheated on her, but one thing was for sure, he definitely loved her like no other. "Ugh..." she groans, opening her eyes. "Man, this hurts like hell..."
"You okay, Kira? You just suddenly fainted and-" "I'm perfectly fine, I'm just tired. I'm hungry, probably why."
"Are you sure? I-" "I said I'm fine! I... I don't need your help. I can't keep on trusting and relying on people all the time!" she snaps with a glare, but Ota detected a small tint of sadness in her voice.
"Kira, you cant trust me." he claims but it only earns him a scoff from Kira. "Really? And look where that turned out, Kisaki."
"Come on, do you seriously still hate me?" Kira stares at the artist from his question as if it were the strangest thing ever said. And to her, it was.
"Are you really asking me that? You think I can forgive you after the way you used me?"
"It's been a year, Kira! Let it go!" he protests but Kira smirks sadistically.
"A year? How would you fuckin' feel Ota? How would you feel when your fiance died, and when you finally fall in love again, your boyfriend freaking cheats on you the moment you turn your back, and she finds out during an awards ceremony?! The moment she needed you the most!"
The two hadn't noticed that all the bidders had come in and have been listening to every word, especially at Kira's lash out. Ota reaches out to comfort the now trembling woman, but she backs away almost instantly.
"Don't touch me. Stay away from me from now on, I don't need you anywhere near me."
"Kira, you know I-" he once more reaches out to touch her but she smacks away his hand. "I said don't touch me. I don't need you, and that's why I'm moving out the hotel."
