I've Moved On

"I'll see you later," she says coldly and shrugs off Ota's hand once more and before the artist could stop her again, she turns the keys and the engine roars to life. Helmet over her head, she speeds off on the motorcycle.

Ota stares after it hopelessly before finally giving up and walking back into the hotel. The bidders stare after their friend and soon follow him in. Ota has been like this for the past year that Kira was training to be a Dragon, and personally, his friends were getting worried.

Ota began drinking. Way too much. He barely smiles anymore, and when he does, it's strained. Like Kira was before, the heart break was slowly starting to eat away at him.

As Kira sped down the streets of Tokyo, she found it harder than usual to hold back the tears. One year. It's been one year since she ever cried, and she doesn't know why it's any different today.

Maybe it was seeing him, or hearing his voice, or maybe it was his begging that pushed her harder to cry. But she found it hard, despite shutting off all emotions a year ago. She was lost in complete darkness.

Soryu, as he trained his sister, has seen these changes day by day. Day by day the sparkle and brightness of her eyes dimmed until they looked empty and vacant. Her voice, as she spoke, lost all emotion in it, happiness or sadness it was gone. She no longer smiled genuinely, but she always kept that 'Angelic' side of hers, maybe as a way of reaching into the past. She lost her passion for writing, that fizzle of romance was burned out.

But worst of all was like this... The real Kira that Soryu had loved, Cole had loved, and everyone had loved, was gone. It was like ever since she broke up with Ota, she just stopped. Stopped everything.

For a month, she couldn't speak, eat, or write, or even sleep. The same thing happened when she began training with the Dragons, she showed nothing. She showed no mercy during missions and shot without thinking.

Maybe it was the bitterness, but no one stopped her by the way she would shrink away if you even tried to touch her. No matter what anyone had tried.

The real Kira was gone.

Hopping off the seat, Kira whipped her helmet off, shaking her head from side to side to move the hair out of her face. She turned to look at the small cabin.

She had driven 20 minutes out of town to the country side where she had requested her father months before to build her a cabin for missions and hideouts. She enters a pin code in a number pad beside the door and the door opens automatically. She enters the cabin, which looked like an ordinary vacation house.

She places her thumb on an undetectable finger pad near the fireplace, which open a door within the wall. Entering the dark hall, she closes the secret door behind her, following the path that lights with every step.

She soon enters another room made of steel underground, and with it, 5 other doors leading to other rooms. "Another night over, I guess." Kira sighs and runs a hand through her hair before walking over to a corner piled with computers. She begins flipping through the documents given to her by Soryu, trying her best to track down the current location of her target.

After hours of work, it was quite late at 1:00 am, and Kira found herself falling asleep. Needing some beauty sleep, Kira heads off to one of the rooms in her underground base and leads to a bedroom. She falls asleep almost instantly and soon wakes up after three hours of sleep.

"Just 4:00..." she mutters to herself, rubbing her eyes sleepily. But she didn't want to go back to sleep, so she heads back out to the same electronics room. She does further research and soon finally comes up with enough information.

"Another one dead, hm?" she chuckles darkly and closes the laptop, walking into a different room. The walls were lined with weapons, katanas, guns, swords, even grenades and mechanical bombs. Grabbing a pack, she carefully covers two small daggers with cloth and places a revolver and handgun on a table in the middle of the room.

Grabbing a box of extra bullets and a small machine time bomb, she exits the room and heads to a small kitchenette in the base, gathering a prepackaged sandwich and a few water bottles and a small bar of chocolate. Returning to the weapon filled room, she stuffs the food and weapons into the pack.

In another room, she changes her outfit, into a navy shirt and new black jeans, along with a black leather jacket and combat boots. Her hair down straight and pinned back, she slings the bag over a shoulder and gets ready to leave.

She heads out front of the cabin, where her motorcycle was parked. Keys in hand, she swings herself onto the seat, turning on the engine and driving off. She needed this mission done sooner more than later.

She finds herself in front of a mansion, filled with guests and laughter. I mean, who wouldn't strike at a house full of people, right?

Mentally groaning at her condition, not having a disguise to blend in, she makes her way behind the grand home and finds herself in a luxurious and extremely well-tended garden. With a sigh, she pulls out a grappling hook from the bag's pocket, which she never takes out because she always needs it, so she just keeps it in there.

Firing it, testing it to hold on, she begins climbing the rope and after doing so, retracts the gun back in her hands. Stuffing it back in her bag, she peeks in through a skylight window on the roof to reveal, what the blueprints had shown earlier, the master bedroom.

As expected, the target, a wealthy politician with dirty secrets, was in the room, getting ready for a speech down at the party. She had exactly 20 minutes to get this done and over with, despite the great urge she had to kill him tortuously slow, she cuts through the glass with a diamond, using the end. Again, another thing she needs for most missions, it stays in the pack.

Carefully removing the glass, she pulls out the rope and hook of the grappling gun, anchoring the hook onto a nearby vent and tying the rope securely around herself. As the man heads to an adjoining bathroom, she quickly untangles herself from the rope and surveys the room for the needed things.

Eisuke had sent her on a mission to kill and steal something from this man, seeing as she was a former member of the Black Foxes, and that she was part of the mafia. She finds a golden statue that she recognizes was stolen by Baba for the auction days ago. Stuffing the structure into her pack with a cloth wrapped around it, Kira hides herself in the shadow of a corner.

The man soon comes out, his hair slicked back as he tries to tie a necktie. (A/N: That two parter 'tie' sorta annoyed me for some reason.)   Kira attacks from behind, grabbing two ends of the tie from the man and wrapping it around his neck fully, beginning to choke him.

He struggles to free himself, but to no avail as he soon collapses from lack of air. He begins to slowly breath again and Kira glares down at him, clicking her tongue. "Tch, ain't nobody got time for this." she hisses and pulls out a small dagger.

She smiles sadistically and traces a long cut around his face, as if trying to cut it off. After he began to slowly bleed, She grabs the revolver from earlier, shooting him between the eyes, in his heart, and his stomach.

"It's time you learned your lesson." She takes a final shot, right through his head once more, probably landing in his brain. As a puddle of blood began to surround him, Kira smirked triumphantly and snapped a picture for proof before leaving the same way she came in, through the roof.

As she left the house, she once more began pondering over the path she chose. But once Ota's face flashes before her eyes again, she fills with bitter hate and glares at the road as she drives. Only one thing came into her mind as she drove:

'If you start to miss me, remember:

I didn't walk away, you pushed me out the door and let me go.

If you want me back, too bad.

I've already moved on.'
